The Farmhouse at Bryant Pond

Our large home is great for getting together with friends and family to enjoy the year-round beauty of western Maine. Winter activities abound from alpine skiing and riding, to nordic skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, dogsledding, and sleigh rides. Spring time brings sunshine, flowers, and a chance to hit the slopes in a t-shirt! Summer is one of the best times to visit. Warm days are perfect for splashing in the plentiful waterfalls, rivers and lakes that dazzle under the summer sun. Miles of hiking and biking trails from peaks to ponds can be found within a short distance of the house. Don't forget to sample delicious Maine blueberries! The cooler days of fall bring vibrant colors to the mountains, hike one of the nearby peaks or drive one of the many scenic routes for truly spectacular views. Our farmhouse is the perfect base for your group, no matter when you choose to visit.

The house was built from a converted farmhouse and barn. The main portion of the house has 5 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, 2 living areas, a large kitchen and dining area that opens to the porch and patio. There is an attached 2 bedroom apartment that is included with this rental. It has a separate entrance, a small kitchenette area, open living area, 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. There are a total number of 2 king size beds, 5 queen size beds, 5 twin beds, and 3 pullout/convertible beds. Linens and towels are provided.
The patio has Adirondack chairs with a firepit looking out over the expansive lawn and a grill to prepare outdoor meals. Just down the street is access to Bryant Pond (Lake Christopher), a quiet, beautiful lake great for kayaking, canoeing, or paddle boarding. Your rental includes the use of kayaks that can be carted down to the lake.

Dogs are welcome at our house, they will love the yard and lake as well, but will require an extra cleaning fee (please include them in your reservation).

Amazing farmhouse, perfect location!

House is perfect size for a large gathering. Perfectly located near Bryant Pond, with kaiaks available. We all had a lot of fun and a very comfortable stay! Hosts are very responsive and great!

Birthday werkend

We had a great time with our family and friends for a surprise 30th birthday party.We all brought food and utilized the great new cook stove as well as the 2 refrigerators.It was wonderful to have a space where we could all be together as well as to get some alone time if you need it. We enjoyed the outside fire pit, use the grill, and played corn hole in the yard.

Family Tradition Lives On

We've been going up to Bryant pond for years on Memorial Day weekend and the rental we usually get got booked before we could get our act together. Luckily we found The Farmhouse was available and better than ever before! We actually used to stay here when it was owned by the previous owners and after staying here now I can say there have been many updates, not only in the fixing up of the property, but also in cleaning practices that we greatly appreciated! It was perfect for our large family of all ages, plenty of sleeping spots and room to spread out. The kayaks were great to go out on the beautiful lake and the fire pit was wonderful for circling up at night as a family. The kitchen is wonderful with amazing oven/stove and big refrigerator and plenty of room to sit and eat together. Very responsive and friendly hosts. Can't recommend staying here enough!

This property worked very well for our family vacation, with plenty of room for our 10 adults and 4 young children. We love to cook, and took full advantage of the great cooktop and oven, plus the dual refrigerators and dishwashers. The large dining area let us eat together easily, and the seating around the firepit was a hit for the cool evenings. The lake was very close, and great for swimming, paddleboarding, and kayaking. We also had plenty of space to separate the noises of young children from the couples who wanted peace and quiet. While the house is old, it has been well maintained and was well-equipped and clean when we arrived. We did get startled by a train going through late at night, but that only happened twice during the week and wasn't as surprising the second time. We definitely recommend this property for large groups and families like ours!

This was a great experience! The house is huge and made it possible to have lively kids, sleeping babies, and relaxing adults in the same space. The lake is clean and lovely and we enjoyed the kayaks. The big yard was fun for the kids and for the dog. It’s quiet enough you can hear the loons on the lake.

We loved the farmhouse. It was perfect for our large family 17 people. It was also a short walk to the lake which is beautiful.When the oven didn’t work and couldn’t be repaired we were given a prompt and generous refund.We were short on bath towels, shower faucets had some issues which reported. Room ac needed to be cleaned. Overall we had a great time with our family.

Homey, warm, comfortable

Close to skiing/hiking/ice fishing/skating. Well appointed modernized, old farmhouse - plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, big kitchen, laundry. Evenings by the fire. Hard to imagine a better place for our family, (ages 7 months to 86 years old), getaway.

Perfect size for our party of 13

We celebrated my fathers 90th over a gorgeous September weekend. The number of beds and rooms was perfect. The beds are comfortable which is a must at a rental. The fire pit out front was wonderful and we appreciated that the wood was included. The lake is gorgeous! Such an easy walk. Loved the kayaks. Our only suggestion would be to upgrade the array of kitchen equipment. Having 2 fridges and dishwashers was great. But the array of pots and pans was challenging. Thankfully we were mostly heating things we cooked prior to arrival. Cooking from scratch would be frustrating I think.

A Comfortable Fun Stay

We had a great weekend at this location. The house was spacious and comfortable- Great for a fun family gathering and a get away with a big front yard and a nice siting area for a barbecue or a fun s’mores night with the kids. Wonderful!

Definitely worth the consistent five star reviews. The house is large, clean, and very well equipped. We were a group of sisters, spouses, and our adult children. Everyone had a bedroom and bathroom space which is so great with a group. The house is well stocked for cooking and eating in. All towels, linens, spices, dish detergent, laundry detergent, gift/hostess basket etc... were so much appreciated. Truly an effortless vacation. The host was very responsive to any questions. Would love to come back again.

Perfect for large group

This site is absolutely perfect for a friends gathering. The farm house is huge and well maintained. It’s a quick walk to an absolutely gorgeous lake. The kitchen is large and well stocked with plates, utensils pots and pans, 2 refrigerators and 2 dishwashers. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit at night. The hosts are very responsive. The farmhouse is an amazing place!!

Family vacation on beautiful Bryant Pond

With space for interacting with a large group AND privacy for individuals seeking quiet time, the Farmhouse was perfect for our multi-generational gathering. It was great to have so many bedrooms and bathrooms, and a spacious kitchen with two full refrigerators and ample seating. The front porch and patio was our central gathering space, and the lawn is vast and ideal for games. The pond is lovely— clear, clean and warm, and we were thrilled listening to the call of the loons, and spotting herons and a bald eagle. We made constant use of the kayaks (the cart made it easy). Craig was a friendly and responsive host, and we definitely plan to return.

Family Vacation

The house was perfect for our family vacation. We were 4 families, three generations. We do this every 2 years, using listings from vrbo. This house fit our needs perfectly. It offered everything but a pool which we like. The area was great, the towns interesting and the lake was good. The water toys offered by the owner made up for the lack of a pool. I highly recommend the house.

Family vacation at the farm house

The farmhouse was perfect for our large extended family. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. A large kitchen that could accommodate the entire family for a sit down meal. Large yard set back from the road. Short walk to the beautiful lake. Close to Bethel with good options for food and recreation. Highly recommend!

The Farmhouse

The farmhouse has plenty of bedrooms (7) and bathrooms (6+), a great kitchen and two living rooms so plenty of room for all activities. Plus the lake is a two-minute walk. Overall a great vacation spot.

Perfect for a Large Family

We all loved it. The house was well arranged with many bedrooms and five bathrooms. There were two refrigerators and two dishwashers. Great planning to have two sitting rooms at opposite ends of the main floor, one had a tv. Both had plenty of seating. Outside was very roomy. The patio with a fire pit, a wood supply,and plenty of seats was an awesome way to spend the evenings. There was plenty of space for whiffle ball and kickball, badminton, and corn hole. The lake was nearby, and we loved th kayaks and tubes. Sunsets were gorgeous with mountains in the background. Also, the house is close to several state parks and other hiking sites. All 18 of us, ranging in age from 83 to 10, thought it was one of the best vacation spots we’ve been to.

Something for everyone

We really enjoyed our stay. We were a large multigenerational group. Ages 1 to 61. We loved sitting around the fire at night. The kids had a ball on the kayaks. We found great stuff to do in the area too. Highly recommend this house!

Great place for our retreat

I hosted a retreat for my organization and this house was perfect. Perfect location to go out and enjoy nature and hikes (even when it was raining). Small town close by where we were able to go bowling and enjoy getting out of the city. Overall great trip and 10/10 recommend.

Michelle and Craig met and married in Rochester, NY while attending graduate school. We've lived in NY, CA and now call Rhode Island home. We have three kids and enjoy spending time together outdoors and traveling.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with Western Maine during a family vacation to the area, and started looking for our own place to gather with friends and family. This house charmed us from the beginning. We love it's rustic character, big yard and, of course, being close to the water.
