Lovely home surrounded by many neighboring homes. Well-appointed kitchen with many useful items for preparing family meals. Enjoyed the enclosed porch and chairs to watch the sunrise or the rise and fall of the tide. Close proximity to amenities in Bath, Brunswick, and the exceptional Reid State Park for our hours at the beach.
My sisters and I enjoyed our stay at this home, which is very comfortable, clean, and well stocked. Loved the rocking chairs looking out onto the water. Would definitely love to return some day.
We stayed at Nick's house to attend a family wedding at a nearby inn. The house was the perfect location. It was well stocked with necessary supplies for a comfortable stay. Nick was a wonderful host and responsive to questions. Even my 5 year old daughter hopes we can stay again in the future.
The house was absolutely beautiful! It was furnished with everything we needed including everything to cook a lobster dinner at home. Access to kayaking was very easy off the dock and there were some interesting things to see. The property owners were quick to respond when we had questions. Would recommend staying here.
Our family enjoyed a lovely stay at the property. It's located in a quiet neighborhood, with friendly neighbors. The driveway is pretty steep, so be careful getting in/out, especially with parking being pretty tight (but manageable). Parking pass to Reid State Park beach was a huge plus. There is a small convenience store for necessities, but for full groceries or shopping, Bath is closest (about a 25 minute drive). We loved hanging out on the dock and just watching the boats come in and out! Would recommend for a quiet family stay.
The house is beautiful. It was fully equipped with everything you would need for your stay. The view every morning when you wake up is amazing. You can see the ducks on the water and a couple of times we saw seal diving for fish. The General Store is really nice and perfect for when you run out of something. Egg sandwiches were delish. The area in general is very nice as it’s not full of tourists, Five Island was great for ice cream and lobster and the 5 minute drive to the beach is great. We did get to do some claming, You dont need a license. The kids lived it, We would definitely consider returning . Thank younThe Bonamici Family
Nick's property was exactly what we were looking for in a traditional Maine house on the water. We were able to use the dock for fishing and watching for animals. The house and dock was stocked with everything we needed for the trip. We were a group of 7 adults and 1 infant and the house fit us comfortably. It was only about 30 minutes away from major grocery stores and about an hour away from major attractions in the area. Nick was kind enough to provide a pass for Reid state park which was beautiful! He also had great, quick communication for any questions we had. We would certainly stay here again!
Very nice home with spectacular view of bay. Responsive owner and good quiet location. Just down the road from Reid State park, and 30 minutes from Bath. We were 2 families and had plenty of room for all. Enjoyed our stay.
The house was as described with pleasant views and was very clean and well supplied. Plenty of room for our three generation family gathering. Highlights for the three grandchildren were catching crabs off the dock and finding more crabs in the rocks at low tide. No luck fishing. There is a kayak but it was too heavy to take down to the water. Reid State Park is nearby and good meals at the Inn next door or at Five Islands Lobster. We had fresh u-pick oysters at Eros Oyster.
We very much enjoyed our Thanksgiving stay in Georgetown - the house is very comfortable in a beautiful setting - a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy the scenery.
Beautiful location, even made friends with the neighbors. State park down the road was a saving grace for a very active 1 year old. Sadly most of us had to leave early because of that darn virus.
Chose this site because of the dock and proximity to Boothbay by boat. Did not disappoint in that regard. Great explorations in Georgetown and Phippsburgh, hiking many trails, parks, and the glorious Popham and Reid State Parks. Very nice retreat.
Thank you for a great location and home to spend our vacation! Wonderful view, comfortable home, super clean and had all the essentials. We are big cooks and kitchen great layout and equipment!!
We've stayed at countless rental properties over the years, around the globe. This was one of our favorites for so many reasons. Of course the location is wonderful-- close to everything, but still private and peaceful with views that won't quit.
But really, what made us love it so much is that the moment we walked in to the spacious and bright home, we felt like we were visiting friends. Every touch-- from the décor to the thoughtfully-stocked kitchen and bathrooms-- gave it a warm and welcoming feel. We were able to launch our jetskis at the nearby Todd's Landing and dock them at the house-- so fun. And we kept the birdbath full to see the variety of wildlife visit. We enjoyed fresh oysters from Eros and had a lobster dinner with all the supplies from the pantry to help us.
The hosts were great communicators and helped us figure out tight parking-- we made it work! Overall, we had a fabulous time revisiting our roots and relaxing at the most perfect place. We hope to visit again soon.
The cottage was wonderful in every way. I would say it exceeded expectations. Very cozy, comfortable and spacious. Also the setting is just beautiful. This is such a beautiful part of Maine that I had never experienced before. If you want to get away to a place that is decidedly NOT 'touristy', Georgetown in the place! We will definitely be looking to return, and would love to stay at "Oakledge" again in the future!
We rented this home to attend a family reunion nearby. Oakledge exceeded our expectations! We had everything we could have possibly needed to accommodate our group. It didn’t hurt that the weather was fantastic. The kitchen is equipped better than any rental I’ve ever had. We were able to cook many of our meals there and never ran out of a thing. I would definitely like to go back!
It was a great eat place to stay, very clean and spacious. We loved the water. The only downfall is that it was difficult for our grandkids ages 1 and 3 to play outside because it was too steep of yard. So not a big play area for young kids outside, however everything else was absolutely wonderful.
