Private Getaway in the Forest. 1BR w/ Hot Tub

Chestnut Ridge cabin is small enough for a couple and large enough for a small family.  This beautiful cabin is located on fifteen ridge top acres just ten miles from Natural Bridge.  Take the spiral staircase up to the private bedroom with a queen bed.  There is also a single bed upstairs in the loft.  If you need another bed, the IKEA couch pulls out in the living room.  The kitchen has a full stove with oven, refrigerator with all kitchen utensils furnished. The cabin has Dish satellite and DVD player.

Chestnut Ridge has a covered porch on two sides with wood swing and rockers and a picnic table and chairs. Attached to the covered porch on the back is a deck with a large hot tub. Right off the porch is a charcoal grill, fire ring and picnic table. This cabin is secluded from the other cabins and has a private yard to enjoy.
The cabin is part of Chop Chestnut Cabins, which are a located up on a ridge surrounding by woods near to the Red River Gorge. These cabins offer a quiet retreat with views and wooded lots. Each cabin is uniquely designed featuring hot tubs and porches to enjoy the wooded area. A twelve minute drive to the Red River Gorge makes it a great home base for a day hike through the forest or visit to the Natural Bridge area. Then return to grill out in the yard and relax in the hot tubs at these cozy cabins. 

-Check-in is 5 PM (early check-in of 3 PM is available for $35)
-Check-out is 10 AM (late check out of 12 PM is available for $35)
-Dogs are allowed: $75/pet for the entire stay (We ask that pets are kept off of beds, bedding and furniture. Pets must be accompanied at all times or crated if left in the cabin alone)

Wonderful location

Lots of birds and wildlife. We enjoyed the hot tub, since we do not always get a place with one. The cabin was beautiful. The fireplace was awesome for the chilly nights. We would return here for sure.

Wonderful solitude!

We really enjoyed being deep in the woods of Kentucky. The hot tub and fire pit was perfect for our kids and we loved the deck overlooking the prettiest woods. Check in was easy and uncomplicated! We’ll be back!

Nice and clean, the hot tub was a great treat. We enjoyed the privacy and the distance between the other cabins. Issue with the heat on the first night was promptly addressed in the morning. Windy roads to get there, take Dramamine if you have issues with car sickness.

Never been to a cabin where it’s not around another cabin, and so peaceful and calming. We will come back in a heartbeat. It’s very clean no complaints in that area, the hot tub was wonderful to enjoy. Wasn’t to far from the trials everything 22 minutes away.

Super cozy and a great kitchen!

Awesome gas stove and fireplace. Kept the cabin so cozy! The kitchen was great - plenty of space to cook a meal and the stove was awesome. Coffee maker, microwave. Loved the hot tub as well - very relaxing and worked perfectly. Bedroom was quaint in the loft and again, very comfy and cozy. Loved the decor throughout and the bed was great. It was nice and quiet, super relaxing. Only thought would be I wish the downstairs had curtains. I felt a bit exposed at night.

Private getaway in Red River Gorge

The cabin was secluded and while there were some other cabins in the area, we could not see them from our cabin. The instructions on getting to the cabin were good and our communication with the host was excellent. The cabin was comfortable with a nice small kitchen on the first floor along with a small living room and bathroom. There was a large bedroom on the second floor. The hot tub worked and the grill and picnic table outside were nice. There was a nice wrap around porch with a swing. It was a very nice short getaway. We were unable to get internet, but there was a television with DISH network. Very much in the woods, but there was a nice clearing where the grill was. We would definitely stay there again.

Clean and peaceful

The cabin is newly remodeled and extremely clean and nicely equipped and decorated. Hot tub was clean and had the proper amount of chlorine. Communication with the host was excellent and they were accommodating. Ductless split system was not functional so there were temporary ac systems which took up a lot of space in the living room and no heat other than the gas fireplace. There was no twin bed in addition to the queen as stated in the ad. I would suggest this only for a couple or couple with small kids. Overall beautiful cabin that is immaculate and great hosts and location. Highly recommend.

We love the Gorge!

We arrived at the property and had some trouble locating initially but the company was quick to answer us and help us find the cabin! To our surprise the cabin had been renovated and looked nothing like the pictures (which we were OK with since it had been ugraded). They had linens provided which was awesome. The kitchen was light on supplies so we had to buy a few things at the store. The kitchen also had no handles on the cabinets / drawers which was odd. There was no screen door in the sliding door to the deck so it got a bit buggy but other than that we had a fantastic time here!

Needs maintenance

My wife and I aren’t known as the couple that complains about much at all. We go with the flow and take things in stride as much as possible. With that being said, we had a heavy heart coming home today from our weekend at the Gorge. See, we have been frequenting the RRG for 2 decades now and we have certain expectations that we consider “a given”. We ALWAYS rent a cabin…. But, this was our first experience with RRG Cabin Rental. Where we were hoping fora nice relaxing getaway like we have had time and time again with other rental companies in the area. Instead, we were left feeling like we had been taken advantage of, and just unsatisfied overall this year. 😞. 😞. 😒. •The repair man didn’t show up. •The Bed was extremely uncomfortable. •Hot Tub didn’t work. So much for relaxing. We paid a good amount of money when we could’ve stayed at home and not relaxed.

If you continued to have issues with the unit during your stay, we would have gladly come to fix it for you, however you did not let us know this was an issue until you left.
