Little House in the Big Woods on the Prairie

This little cabin in the woods over looking a prairie is a great space for travelers that like to be cozy and secluded.

Just 5 minutes from the city of Baraboo and 7 minutes from the Devil's Lake State Park entrance. It features modern comfort for solo travelers or couples.

Guest access

A private driveway will lead you to the cottage, which is surrounded by woods and prairie. There are 30 acres of woods and prairie with established walking trails that you can hike or stroll through. Very private and enchanting! There is a parking spot provided for you about 300 feet from cabin. If you arrive late at night, it can be very dark. We suggest using a flashlight or your phone to navigate the path safely. Easy self-check-in system with door code. Bring firewood if you plan on having a fire in the fire pit.

We are so close to many amazing activities in Baraboo and the surrounding area. I have provided a list of some of my recommendations.

To lock the front door when leaving, close the door securely and press the padlock symbol on the keypad. You should hear the door locking.

The property and tiny home are endearing in every way! John and Laurel are wonderful hosts - from the fresh picked flowers on the counter when we walked in to how clean and well-cared for the little house is. My sister and I stayed here for a hiking weekend at Devil’s Lake and could not have been more thrilled with the setting and charm of our VRBO pick. It became so much more than a “base camp” for hiking and sleep. The rental and property were a beautiful, memorable part of our trip. I christened it my dream house! (And if you love the seclusion and beauty of the natural world, you will have a new dream house, too.)

Had a lovely time at the little cabin! It had everything that we need for a quiant Devil's Lake getaway. The kitchen was excellent and well stocked with pots, pans, plates, etc. We made some delicious breakfasts and dinners. The keurig also had plenty of k cups to get our days started. The shower was great. That water gets HOT!

Absolutely loved the stay! My partner and I loved the remote feel, the quiet nights but also how close it was so attractions like Devils Lake State Park and downtown Baraboo. The vrbo was super clean and very cozy feeling with perfectly working heating and water. Kitchen was stocked and everything worked perfect! Thank you to our gracious hosts, we truly enjoyed our stay and would love to come again!

Extremely peaceful and quiet! Wonderful place for those seeking solitude and one with nature. Some misunderstanding on my part of reservation dates, but John was very gracious in allowing an extra night.
