The Afton State Park is within hiking distance. In the fall the trees paint a palette of color in the hillside surrounding the river. It's "your time for me time." Learn the history of the St Croix Valley, from the first all-volunteer army of MN. during the Civil War, to the Great Lumber Baron's of the St Croix River. Historic places everywhere!

This is a Carriage House which is located in a safe, great area. Next to the original 1860s home built by a man named Asa Tracy along the St. Croix River. Asa Tracy traveled by horse and wagon from the east coast with his wife Flora in an era that could be hostile due to the environment of the times, Remember Afton was in its day a small town made up of many interesting people! Read the Afton Remember book to learn more about Afton's History.
What makes this property unique
The Carriage House is a fully functioning living space, nicely decorated and comfortable. You can use the kitchen to cook and entertain. Local restaurants within walking distance. There are extra bed linens stored in the hall closet and the bedrooms. Full sized refrigerator with condiments. Breakfast foods for on the run or eating in if you choose to cook.
