We know from experience that when animals are left alone they get nervous and want to curl up in bed where you sleep and it ends up becoming a major issue for our cleaning crew. If the house is left with extra cleaning from pets and we have to incur additional cleaning charges or the bedding/linens needs to be replaced, we will be forwarding them to you at cost.

The hosts for Big Bear were a pleasure to work with! The home is wonderful with a lot of rooms and sleeping areas. We loved that the family room and large dining table area were together. The home is warm and welcoming and the hosts have the home stocked with everything that you could possibly need. We had a wonderful time!
Great location and just what we wanted. We rode off-road adventure motorcycles in SE Utah for seven days, and this was a great base. The house was perfect for 5 guys. The house had everything we needed, and the host had a great welcome package. I would recommend this location to anyone.
This property could not have been a better fit for us. The eclectic decor and thoughtful amenities were a great bonus. The hosts could not be more cool. Highly recommend.
The hosts are quick to respond to questions. The home is very cozy and had everything we needed. I loved the sliding shelves in the pantry and cabinets. There is plenty of parking. It is close to everything! We rode our side by sides all over town right from the house.
We had a very good time during our Blanding stay as we used the comfortable and welcoming Big Bear house as headquarters for our Cedar Mesa hiking and exploration. The home is remodeled and decorated in a welcoming and non-fussy manner; we felt at home. The kitchen in particular deserves a shout-out; it was complete with quality pans, dishes, and appliances.
We absolutely enjoyed our stay and explored this great area of Southern Utah. The property was as listed and served as our space to reunite with friends. The house has plenty of room, simple efficient amenities, in a quiet neighborhood, and well supplied kitchen. Communication with host was excellent. Definitely would stay again.
The Big Bear Home was perfect for a family vacation with our two adult children. We loved the unique interior decor and artwork. Bears Ears is a wild and beautiful place and this vacation home is an ideal launching point. Billy is a great host! We're glad we got to meet him in person. We definitely hope to rent a vacation home from him again. Petrina and Larry
Big Bear was the perfect launching point for friends and family who were running an ultra marathon through the mountains of Bears Ears and for those of us who just wanted to enjoy the beauty of the area. The house was clean, comfortable, and well stocked with what we needed. Communication with Billy and his staff was smooth, responsive, and friendly. We had a great time and would definitely return if we’re in the area.
We stayed at Big Bear for 4 nights in February. A group of six adults that like to explore and hike the area. The house was fine for us, the dining room table easily accommodated all of us, the kitchen had new appliances and was fully equipped, the home was clean and Billy was very cooperative when we brought a self-induced problem to his attention. Be aware the house has limited closet and drawer space for unpacking, but all-in-all it is as represented and fit our needs quite well.
Clean and well located in a quiet neighborhood in Blanding. Well supplied.I have to deduct one star for cold feet. Hosts repeatedly and strongly asked for no shoes to be worn in the house. That's fine, but the heat units are located near the ceiling and were not easy to program.(hosts provided an explanatory video for a different model unit than the one installed). Mainly hard floors and kitchen does not have a heat unit. Our last morning there the heater was set at 75 degrees but external thermometers showed 64 degrees in the loving room.

Dear future Guest,
We are so sorry that this person gave us four stars because they didn’t come prepared. We mentioned to them on several occasions that bringing house slippers or nice big socks or anything to keep their feet warm would be totally acceptable. We never want anybody to have cold feet! We just know from many years of living in Southeast Utah that the red dirt is a killer for our housekeeping team.
We appreciate you looking at all the rest of the great reviews and staying with us anyways.
We came here for the annular eclipse. The weather was perfect, not a cloud in the sky.
We've been to this part of Utah in the summer and I've got to say that October is sooo much nicer.
The house was centrally located, Arches/Canyonlands are about 1.5 hours north, Monument Valley about the same to the south. Hovenweep was a bit closer, about an hour away. Unfortunately we didn't have enough to time to visit Natural Bridges but it's about an hour to the west.
The house itself was nice, plenty of room for our family. Every room had it's own wall mounted A/C unit. The kitchen was well stocked so we only had to pick up a few things at City Market in Moab.
Will definitely consider renting again in the future.
The house was as advertised and was roomy and comfortable for two families to enjoy (7 people). The kitchen is nice and well stocked. The only noticeable item missing is a corkscrew. I gave the property 4 of 5 stars because it was not ideally set up for a winter visit. Four of the five beds did not have blankets only sheets. We were also only able to find two blankets and they were lightweight. Fortunately the second family came a day later and brought additional blankets. Overall this is a very nice property and is a great spot for exploring southeast Utah.

Aloha!!
So sorry you didn’t decide to reach out about the blanket issue, I have a team literally next door that could’ve brought over anything you needed including the corkscrew or blankets.
Someone must’ve walked off with both because the house used to be completely full of extra stuff like that. I will make sure to restock and again sorry we didn’t have a chance to speak during your stay or I would’ve fixed this instantly.

We (a family with 6 persons) enjoyed our stay in this beary house which has a funny atmosphere. The quality of the mattresses is good, and the children liked the amazing amount of televisions. The neighbourhood is calm - therefore possible to sleep with open windows. Kitchen is well equipped. A kind welcome package was waiting for us when we came. However, there is some room for improvement. Two upper bedrooms and one bedroom in the cellar have an airco - the other two haven’t and were thus too hot to use (we were in Blanding beginning of august). The living has an airco - the kitchen hasn’t and gets thus rather warm. Some windows needed repairs or were impossible to open. The plug of the bathtub was missing. There are two microwaves in the kitchen - the larger one above the stove is not functioning. When we came, the house was hot, without airco turned on - it took some time to cool the house down.
We were charged for cleaning service and then when we left the house he texted not to come back cause the maid sent him pictures of her job and I don’t know why he felt the need to threaten me for not cleaning a house that I paid for cleaning services then assumed cause I forgot my hormone test in the bathroom told me I left a drug test there was no communication about sweep vacuuming mopping or cleaning the bathroom so idk why I was charged for cleaning services. Who books a hotel then cleans it up as you leave I would understand if the house was ripped apart but this is beyond ridiculous the pictures below are what he sent I had children and I was home for funeral arrangements so this was a time I knew I was 100% but none of the way he handled that was necessary

Dear future guest. I’m so sorry you have to read this. We try extremely hard to please everyone and be fair to all.
This person was blocked from renting my home on another platform for being a bad guest. She then booked on this platform for a later stay and I gave her a second chance, to be kind, against my better judgment.
After her stay I asked her not to book our home again because we believe she is unhomed and may come back. I was rewarded with this revenge review and low score.
Please read our other reviews for an accurate assessment of our fun little house. I will be challenging this review with VRBO.

Dear future Guest,
We are very sad to see this review. We always have five star reviews for this and our other properties. Unfortunately the Guest never mentioned anything negative about the Stay, even after we checked in with her post check in.
We would’ve been happy to bring over some extra lamps, which sounds like the only thing that we could fix. Some of the layout issues she mentions like small countertop in the bathroom, is pictured. But it’s just part of having a 1930s house (I’m assuming she’s mentioning the upstairs bathroom, because there’s lots of space downstairs) They didn’t have lots of cosmetics and other things to put on the countertop in the 1930s :)?!
The front porch is definitely for putting on and off shoes, it’s not a big outdoor hangout space, but we do have an outdoor table you can put under one of the shade trees, and eat outside if you want to enjoy the outdoors.
We would ask that you please look at all of our other wonderful reviews to get a true picture of this property.
If we would’ve heard from this Guest about any way that we could improve, during the stay, we absolutely would have! But hearing about all of this, after the fact, doesn’t help anybody.
We look forward to hosting you.

It’s HUGE
Just husband and me. Looked at downstairs, but never used. Nice bathroom, separate toilet, 2 bedrooms and a lounge with nice couch. Main floor, 3 bedrooms and another bathroom, shared. Bunk beds with a trundle in one. Huge dining room table, big sofa with huge TV. The largest washer and dryer we have ever seen in an attached room off the kitchen, with a drying rack and vacuum. Kitchen well equipped (except for teaspoons!), huge refrig and freezer, with a 2nd one in the washer/dryer room. Great grill outside. Only needs better cleaning of the kitchen. Frustrating to contact the owner, which was clarified at the end of the stay. Older home with clever built ins. All the essentials were there, so most thoughtful!
