Just off Main Bungalow Basement Apt.
After hiking in the beautiful hot desert, come home to a cool subterranean apartment. Just off Main Street Blanding Bungalow basement apartment has all the amenities, so you can relax and enjoy your vacation.
Newly remodeled mid-century modern well-lit basement apartment. Sleeps up to four people. Free parking on the street. High-speed Internet and WiFi with 55 inches smart TV. Radiant electric fireplace with blower works by remote or buttons on the fireplace. The desk work area has activity books and a charging station. Room one has a California King bed with a vanity area and lighted mirror as well as lamps that have USB ports. Room two has a queen bed and lamps that have USB ports as well as a clock with ports and plugs. A small pull-down desk area can be used if a quiet work area is needed. The bathroom has a shower with amenities located in the mirror cabinet. Towels are in the bathroom and extra towels are in the bedroom closets. First aid items are in the hallway medicine cabinet. The living room storage closet has a broom and mop as well as cleaning supplies. New furnishings and appliances are part of the new remodel, with a full kitchen and dishwasher. To avoid scratches on the glass cooktop, Please pick up pans when cooking on the stove. There is a stackable washer and dryer. Laundry supplies are in the cupboard on the wall. The owner lives on the main level and noise levels are kept very quiet. The enclosed-insulated utility closet has a tankless water heater and furnace. Slight noises occur as they power up for hot water, heating, and cooling needs. (You may not get a cell signal when out hiking, so download maps and information before your adventures for the day.)
The outdoor grill, fire pit, big yard with outdoor fireplace, and garden area are available for cooking hot dogs or s'mores over the fire and the grass area is available for lawn games.
No smoking in the apartment or within 50 ft of the upstairs premises. No animals allowed as the owner has allergies. Blanding does not sell liquor or Beer.
This apartment is one block from Main Street, where there is dining, restaurants, gourmet coffee and pastries, ice cream, shopping, bowling, and a movie theater. The Bungalow is also close to a hardware store, Pharmacy, and banking options. The bungalow is 8 blocks from the grocery store and wellness center with workout equipment and an outdoor municipal municipal pool.
Recommended eating establishments include Patio Diner, Homestead Steak House, Canyon Country A&W burgers, Subway, Grayson Ice Cream Parlor. Visit Destination Awake for gourmet coffee, lattes, iced coffee, and pastries. Sunday: only the Subway, A&W, and Maverik are open for food.
There is a Blanding City Wellness Center at 1013 South 500 West that has a workout room, gym, basketball and volleyball courts, and an outdoor municipal pool. The center is located next to the City Park with baseball fields and a skate park. Fishing and swimming are available at Recapture Dam.
Other amenities available in Blanding are spa treatments and various types of massages. Book aesthetics with H+A and Island Bliss Wellness Spa. Bluff, a 25-minute drive, has the Hozho spa located in the Bluff Dwellings Resort.
A short 5-minute drive (or 15-minute walk) takes you to the Edge of the Cedars Museum on the west edge of town. The museum has one of the finest collections of ancient Indian artifacts: pots, bowls, turkey feather cloak, reed sandals, feather aprons, and many other fascinating treasures. There is an archaeological dig with an Anasazi Indian ruin that dates back over 1300 years ago. Climb down into the kiva and view how the structure was built and learn about the sipapu and religious ceremonies.
2 miles south of town in West Water Canyon is the 5 Kiva Pueblo ruin. You can cross the canyon and respectfully view the structure up close.
A 5-minute drive takes you to the Nations of the Four Corners. There are hiking trails that lead to replica homes of the Anasazi, Ute, Paiute, and Navajo Indians as well as the Mexican and Pioneers that settled the area. From the viewing tower, you can see all 4 states in the 4 corners monument area.
The dinosaur museum has some rare species of dinosaurs found in this area. It is definitely worth the trip. Open Mon-Sat.
A 20-minute car ride takes you to Butler Wash Ruins and South Cottonwood as well as the Comb Ridge cut. Arch Canyon has the famous House on Fire that is about a mile hike. Cave Towers is where ancient Indians Guarded precious water resources. There are ruins along the canyon rim that offer spectacular views.
Within a 90 minute driving you can visit Historic Bluff Fort and Bluff town, Anasazi ruins, Sand Island Rock Art, Mexican Hat, Monument Valley, Historic Hatch Trading Post, Hovenweep, Bears Ears Monument, Goosenecks State Park, Natural Bridges with night sky viewing, Grand Gulch, and Canyonlands.
For the Adventurous look up Wild Rivers Expeditions for River running, Rappelling, hiking, and biking.
