The Vicar House offers 1bedroom with a trundle day bed, an upstairs loft bedroom with a king size bed, updated bathroom, and full kitchen accommodations. Enjoy your time lounging on the back deck, roasting marshmallows in your firepit, rocking on the front porch, or dipping your toes in our refreshing Watauga River frontage! You are sure to relax in the quite country atmosphere!

I rated this cabin four stars due to the lack of air conditioning, which was mentioned in its rustic description. However, I genuinely enjoyed my stay. The cabin is lovely and located in a great area near attractions and restaurants. It's worth noting that this cabin may be more suitable for visits in the fall and winter when it is cooler. I plan to return during that time in the future.

Quaint Cabin in the Woods

The cabin was rustic, but with all the modern conveniences. Kitchen was nicely stocked with everything you could need. We especially enjoyed watching the deer in our yard, and the raccoons on the roof at night! A very charming, cozy cabin. We will definitely be returning.

Beautiful Remote Cabin

This was a beautiful little cabin. We were visiting the Boone & Sugar Mtn. area and this was about 30 mins away. Perfect for our stay. Inside was everything we needed with beautiful decorations throughout. Very pleased with our stay and would book again.

Charming and comfortable

Lovely cabin in a great location! Rustic but updated inside and very comfortable. Great view of the river from the porch. Quiet and peaceful with almost no traffic. Kitchen is well equipped. Lots of extra pillows for the beds. So much nicer than an overpriced hotel room in Boone and much more relaxing!

Great Getaway!

Most beautiful landscape. Pictures do not really convey how pretty this property is. Wonderful cabin with great decor and everything you would ever need in a kitchen. We had a great time just sitting on the porch listening to the water running in the creek right beside the house. Exceptionally clean. Just perfect for the two of us!

Quality Customer Service and Property Manager Initiative

When I rented this property we happened to come during a snow storm. The property manager was incredibly helpful in dealing with the issues that arose and ensuring that the experience was still amazing. The house is lovely and the surrounding area is picturesque.

Absolutely loved the house!!! It actually looks much better then on the pictures ))) so cozy and quite. Full equipped kitchen, comfortable beds. Plenty of different games. Neighbors are not far but still isolateted. Not far from rhe stores and restaurants and 25 minutes from all the sight seeings and activities. Will be back again

The only glitch with the property was that we did not receive the door code prior to our arrival. When we got to the cabin there was no wi-fi service outside the cabin so I could viiew the code. If a window was not unlocked for me to climb through, we would have had no choice, but to try and find some where else to stay. Other than this, we loved the cabin and location so much we should have booked another night! Thanks

A quiet weekend away

Beautiful cabin with a nice view and tranquil nature sounds. Pictures don’t do the cabin justice! It wasn’t as close to the river as I thought but still a 5-star stay! Probably best since water brings bugs and for the first time all summer I could sit on the porch and watch the fawns play without getting eaten by mosquitos. Excellent amenities, clean, very comfortable, loved the stone shower, and the stain glass windows throughout the cabin were beautiful. My only request for this property is a shade for the window above the bed….I aimed to sleep in and this window made that a bit tricky. Wi-Fi worked great, and essential since there was no cell service at the cabin. Coffee bar was an excellent touch! Close enough to Boone to drive-in for dinner - The Game Keeper was absolutely an incredible culinary experience, and for amazing sushi I highly recommend CoBo. It was a 5 star weekend all around, and I’d definitely visit this cabin again. Thanks for sharing your little slice of heaven!

Nice rustic place; zero cell service

Overall, this is a nice rustic cabin, but in a fairly remote location. One major issue is that there is zero cell phone service out there. Neither my wife or I could get a call or text out unless you drove 10 minutes away from the property. That becomes an issue if you need to communicate with family, friends or business and you did not know that going out there - even bigger issue if you have an emergency or you wish to speak with the host about something. Emailed the host on the portal about this as well as a few house suggestions but never heard anything back. Lastly, not exactly as close to the river as you might think from description.

I’m originally from FL. I’ve been bringing my children up here for 35 years. I got custody of my granddaughter and decided to permanently relocate. I like being a host so that other people can see what I fell in love with up here that made me move. We recently had a hurricane come through here so things aren’t quite back to normal but enough so that we could get back up and running.. (or should I say strolling. )
