The cabin was rustic, but with all the modern conveniences. Kitchen was nicely stocked with everything you could need. We especially enjoyed watching the deer in our yard, and the raccoons on the roof at night! A very charming, cozy cabin. We will definitely be returning.
This place exceeded expectations. It rained our entire stay so we spent a lot of time inside. The kids loved the loft and we both agreed we would come back.
We had an amazing stay at this cabin. The bathroom is great, large and water was hot. The surrounding scenery was great. Very quiet and off the beaten path.
Everything was perfect. Cabin and surroundings were Everything we hoped and wished for. Will definitely book again

Very Disappointed
We were so excited about staying here. We walked into the cabin and were overwhelmed with the strongest perfumy smell. My wife could not breathe as she is sensitive to smells due to a lung condition. And it was very hard for me to stand too. Several plug-ins were the culprit. We tried to aired things out but ended up not being able to stay. The owner would not give us a refund. Customer Service was very disappointing. We could not have known my wife would have a breathing reaction to the smell. That's no one's fault, but good customer service would have given us a refund. If you stay here, I hope you have NO issues because the owner is not likely to be very helpful.
This was a beautiful little cabin. We were visiting the Boone & Sugar Mtn. area and this was about 30 mins away. Perfect for our stay. Inside was everything we needed with beautiful decorations throughout. Very pleased with our stay and would book again.
Tucked away back on a dirt road, very quiet and secluded. Updated interior with an instant water heater and the window above the bed with the creek running in the back was awesome. We absolutely enjoyed every minute of our stay at this cabin.
Had a great stay. The property is private and provides you with a charming, fantastic getaway. Location is convenient to the mountain resorts. Close to Boone if you need to go into town for groceries or a restaurant prepared meal. Kitchen was well equipped for meal prep. Bathroom was spotless and the washer/dryer came in handy for cleaning up dirty kids clothes. Place was clean and had everything our small family needed for an extended weekend.
Lovely cabin in a great location! Rustic but updated inside and very comfortable. Great view of the river from the porch. Quiet and peaceful with almost no traffic. Kitchen is well equipped. Lots of extra pillows for the beds. So much nicer than an overpriced hotel room in Boone and much more relaxing!
We love everything about this cabin! The location is great if you like to feel secluded and want peace and quiet but it’s not far at all from Boone, Banner Elk or Blowing Rock. It is so cozy, rustic and we loved using the wood stove! Marian communicated anytime I had a question. Love love love!
Most beautiful landscape. Pictures do not really convey how pretty this property is. Wonderful cabin with great decor and everything you would ever need in a kitchen. We had a great time just sitting on the porch listening to the water running in the creek right beside the house. Exceptionally clean. Just perfect for the two of us!
Absolutely loved the house!!! It actually looks much better then on the pictures ))) so cozy and quite. Full equipped kitchen, comfortable beds. Plenty of different games. Neighbors are not far but still isolateted. Not far from rhe stores and restaurants and 25 minutes from all the sight seeings and activities. Will be back again
Quality Customer Service and Property Manager Initiative
When I rented this property we happened to come during a snow storm. The property manager was incredibly helpful in dealing with the issues that arose and ensuring that the experience was still amazing. The house is lovely and the surrounding area is picturesque.
Precious cabin, secluded, clean and cozy! Totally enjoyed our stay. It took us less than 20 mins to get to Boone. Perfect place to stay for a football game. No traffic coming out of Boone in this direction! Easy to get to Banner Elk. The only thing I can say negative is there was no outlet in the bathroom - unless I just totally missed it. There really were not many outlets at all. Not a big deal at all for us The lighting in the bathroom was a little dim for putting on makeup. But we would definitely stay here again!
The pictures don't do this property justice. The property is very well maintained and the cabin is near perfect for a mountain retreat. HOT water on demand thanks to propane. This cabin has a cozy atmosphere along with modern amenities. Close to any activity one would wish to partake in.
The grounds are well kept and there is a view of the river. Nature surrounds the property along with the sound of the river. Some wildlife was spotted during our stay, which we enjoyed. The driveway is pretty tight for a larger truck but a suv shouldn't have any issues. One part of the river view is obstructed, but it is very minor considering how well kept the property is. Owners are extremely nice and welcoming! We're already planning another stay here as we enjoyed it so much.

About the host
Hosted by Marian Farris, Our Time Properties
I’m originally from FL. I’ve been bringing my children up here for 35 years. I got custody of my granddaughter and decided to permanently relocate. I like being a host so that other people can see what I fell in love with up here that made me move. We recently had a hurricane come through here so things aren’t quite back to normal but enough so that we could get back up and running.( or should I say strollin )
Why they chose this property
I think when you see where I live, you’ll understand why I stayed. The peace and tranquility will make you forget all the things you left behind.
What makes this property unique
The house that you’re renting is from a different era when things were simpler, more laid back. You’ll see what I mean. I think it speaks for itself.
