About this property

Gorgeous 2BR Siesta Key Gulf Front Beach Condo.

We have gorgeous Gulf views from our screened balcony and you can also see the ocean from both bedrooms. Our condo has been totally remodeled and updated and is luxurious but also casual and always quiet and comfortable.

TORTUGA IS A MONTHLY RENTAL ONLY, so you never feel like you are in hotel surrounded by tourists. You are truly at home. PLEASE NOTE: We rent by the full calendar month, from the first of the month. Due to high demand February and March are rented together.

Granite countertops, maple floors, and top level furnishings and linens throughout. The master bedroom has a comfy king bed. The guest bedroom has two twins.

If you have family visiting during your stay, the lanai can be converted into a private 3rd bedroom with blinds/curtains on both sides.

Tortuga is one of the most prestigious condo developments in Siesta Key, but not at all stuffy. Tortuga is on the quiet and prestigious southern end of Siesta Key known as Turtle Beach. Our shelling rivals Sanibel Island's and Siesta Key's beaches are always on the annual World's Top Ten Beaches listing, including being recently being named #1 Beach in America!

Unlike most condos in Tortuga and Siesta Key, we have a washer/dryer right in the unit. We are also unique in that we have an old fashioned porch swing on the balcony where you can watch the sunset over the Gulf of Mexico! You can dine at the mahogany table that seats eight, at the granite covered breakfast bar, or at our favorite spot, on the beautiful balcony that has a Gulf view. Also unique is an indoor / outdoor heated pool, and use of our neighboring tennis courts for guests. Although we are Gulf Front, the Bay side is just two minutes walk, with access to our fishing docks and boating slips, too. Tortuga has it all.

We are also very senior friendly, with grab bars in both bathrooms and a convenient, secure indoor parking garage. If you have any additional senior-friendly needs, please let us know!

Beautiful Oasis!

We thoroughly enjoyed the month of January 2012 in this lovely, well equipped condo. The very comfortable leather furniture and attractive flooring made it easy to care for, and the mattresses were comfortable. We appreciated the walk-in shower! The condo is just a few steps to the beach where we went to enjoy the magnificent sunsets. Our hosts went out of their way to answer our questions and ensure our comfort. They provided a very good kit of information regarding nearby restaurants and stores, as well as information guides for the dishwasher, washer, dryer, and massive television set. The entire complex is very well run and the other condo owners make visitors feel welcome. We enjoyed attending the aqua fit classes, pot-luck dinners and afternoon movies.

We visited in fall of 200...

We visited in fall of 2009. What a lovely and fantastic place. Truly paradise. We enjoyed walking on the beach, searching for seashell treasures, and how peaceful it was, yet close to Siesta Key Village and a great variety of good restaurant choices, too. When we stayed in, we LOVED the kitchen and barbequing by the pool, too. I'll always remember the breathtaking sunsets--my husband says he liked the Weber grill :) Pretty much everything in the condo is totally new and beautifully done. You can tell that the owners, Li and John, really put their joy and care into the place and they were very warm and welcoming to us. The staff is friendly, too. You can get away to Orlando attractions in a little less than two hours, and it’s only an hour to Busch Gardens in Tampa, Ybor City, etc. We didn’t get the chance to get down to Naples, but it’s a little more than an hour. Yet Siesta Key’s beaches are our all time favorites. Thanks again for a memorable and wonderful visit. We will definitely return soon! Jenny and Jim, Valrico, FL

Before purchasing our vacation dream home in Siesta Key, we rented several VRBO condos in the area. As new owners, we immediately remodeled from top to bottom and we know you'll be pleased with the combination of luxurious appointments and casual, comfortable surroundings. We're a family with two teachers, John and Li, and two great kids, Carina and Max. John and Li met in college in Ohio, moved to Florida and began raising our family. (The kids know how to take care of the condominium when we're not renting so we promise you won't find crayon marks on the walls! Speaking of walls, you will find tasteful, collectible art, including photographs from your co-host, a Pulitzer-Prize winning photographer) The condo is our weekend, free time and summer getaway and we've decided to allow others to enjoy it, too, particularly in the lovely winter season. Unlike most of the condos in Siesta Key, Tortuga rents by the month so you won't feel like you are in a hotel. Our condo is also our home and not like most typical rental properties. We hope you will make it your home away from home, too!

Why they chose this property

Tortuga is a very prestigious property in Siesta Key, but not at all stuffy. Unlike most other condo developments, it's not overrun with cars and views of concrete from other complexes. Tortuga is directly on the beach and there is a huge grassy courtyard with tropical flowers and wonderful landscaping. Ground floor garage parking is provided, leaving a beautiful view all around and great security, too. As you know, Siesta Key boasts that it has the recently ranked #1 beach in the world. To the north end of Siesta Key, there is a lovely, quaint village with great walking, fantastic restaurants and a great weekend farmer's market, too. There is also a very busy public beach at the north end of Siesta Key. Tortuga is at the prestigious and far quieter southern end, known as Turtle Beach with a free shuttle traveling throughout the Key. The shelling here rivals Sanibel. The gulf views are amazing. The bay side with fishing docks and boating slips is just a two minute walk away, too. The drive along Midnight Pass Rd. in this part of the key has a tree canopy, multi-million dollar homes, and just a few condos. It's not overrun with touristy hotel-like condos like the northern end of Siesta Key. Although all of Siesta Key is great, the southern end doesn't have traffic congestion problems, is far more quiet, yet is just a short drive, free shuttle ride, (or even bike ride) to Siesta Key Village. We really do believe we've found paradise here! Tortuga is very friendly. It is unique in that it has an indoor-outdoor pool, an expansive newly remodeled community room, elevators, and is wonderfully maintained.
