We had a great stay at the cabin! Within a short drive of many beautiful parks. Right off of the main road, but still tucked into the woods, and the creek behind was beautiful. Plenty of space for the dog to roam and a nice pet necessities basket on site. Very well, equipped kitchen everything down to a crockpot! Very clean and we will certainly be looking to come back in the future.

Mountain Vacation

We spent a week at the cabin. The cabin is conveniently located near small towns and state parks that offer family friendly activities. Allowing pets was a huge plus for us and the deciding factor for choosing this rental. The cabin has a nice outdoor space with plenty of room for campfires and spending time outside. The cabin was clean and the bathroom and kitchen contained everything for need for cooking and bathing. We are glad we chose this property for our mountain vacation!

This our family's 3rd summer here! We love the peaceful setting for our 2 teens to unplug, and our 2 dogs to roam free. Not to mention the quiet mornings listening to the creek drinking coffee and the nights sitting around the fire. We were surprised to see there is another cabin going up! Not sure what the plans are, but we've always talked about how amazing it would be if our other family members could come too!!! Can't wait for next summer!!! The hosts always make sure everything is perfect!

We would give this place 6 stars if we could. Amazing spot, close to all we wanted to do with hiking, off-roading, and great spots in Davis and Thomas. They even have a little basket with stuff for your pups which just made us really appreciate the thoughtfulness.The property is AMAZING! Creek, natural space, just awesome. They even have bundles of wood on site for 5 that made it convenient for fires at night.We’re going to be making at least and annual trip here moving forward. Loved everything about it.

My husband and I took our son here for our first family trip. The cabin was very cozy and decorated for fall. We loved it. We appreciated the kitchenware and were able to cook dinners while we were there. We loved the outdoor portion of the property. It was much larger than we expected. We also enjoyed using both of the fire pits while we were there. Overall, we had a great stay and hope to return again in the future.

Wonderful and Relaxing

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin with our dogs. The property is every bit as beautiful as described and the owners have done a great job providing their guests with ‘extras’ you didn’t even think you needed. We enjoyed roasting hot dogs on the fire pit, strolling down to the stream, and just sitting on the porch enjoying nature and quiet. We took day trips to see Blackwater Falls and Deep Creek Lake. If you are a fan of nature, this cabin is the perfect choice!

Why they chose this property

We chose this area because it truly captures the best of what West Virginia has to offer—peace, natural beauty, and easy access to outdoor adventure. Nestled along a beautiful creek and surrounded by woods, it provides the kind of quiet setting that’s getting harder to find.

At the same time, it’s perfectly located near some of the region’s top destinations. Within a short drive, you can explore Blackwater Falls State Park and Canaan Valley Resort State Park, or cross into Maryland to visit Swallow Falls State Park and Herrington Manor State Park. Whether it’s hiking, biking, skiing, tubing, or rafting, there’s no shortage of things to do nearby.

We also love being close to the small mountain towns of Thomas and Davis, where you’ll find great food, local shops, and live music—just enough activity without losing that laid-back feel.

One of the biggest reasons we chose this location is its proximity to Cathedral State Park, just about a minute away. This incredible old-growth forest offers a rare glimpse into untouched natural beauty, with towering hemlocks, peaceful trails, and a truly unique atmosphere.

For us, this area offers the perfect balance—quiet and secluded, yet close to everything that makes this region special.
