Access to a community pool, 3 ponds, 12+ miles of hiking trails, creek-side campgrounds, fishing, and a clubhouse with a gym high atop Powder Horn Mountain in a gated community. Equipped with WiFi and a fully stocked kitchen. Near popular mountain towns Boone (25min) and Blowing Rock (35min). Come explore what the Western North Carolina High Country has to offer!

The cabin has 3 bedrooms: King, Queen, Queen. A large living and dining room with a wood burning fireplace and a Roku 4k TV for all of your streaming needs. Enjoy your morning coffee and evening drinks on the wraparound deck overlooking the mountain!

Powder Horn Mountain is a quite & secluded gated community located in the beautiful North Carolina High Country. Guests have access to over 12 miles of hiking trails including the popular blue hole waterfall hike and several trails along Laurel Creek. Serene creek-side campgrounds stocked with firewood, a grill, and picnic tables. The clubhouse is half a mile from the cabin and is equipped with WiFi, a game room, a gym, a pool (Open Memorial Day to Labor Day), pedal boats, and a playground; all of which are open to our guests!

* Since we are a secluded mountain retreat, the nearest gas station and grocery store is 20min from the cabin just past the Blue Ridge Parkway in Boone. It is a beautiful scenic drive that winds up the mountain, but you may want to bring groceries prior to your arrival so you can get settled in right away! -- Please note that the road from Power Horn to Boone has some sharp turns as it winds up the mountain and there isn't much street lighting if you are driving after dark.

* The cabin is located in a wooded area, so you may see bugs, furry critters, and reptiles. We have routine pest control; however, we cannot guarantee that any such critters will not be visible in and around the property.

Great getaway

Cabin is in a friendly community with great hiking and a beautiful view from the cabin. Great to bring our pets with us.

Was stink bugs all in house. Cleaned them all out and more the next morning and day after etc. the L couch is very comfortable and food and trash in between the cushions. Stains on sheets, pillow cases, blankets. Trash cans need to be cleaned out, master bed very uncomfortable and caused back pain. The area was beautiful. And rest of house was nice.

Are we there yet???

VRBO never sent the gate or door code. Luckily, I texted the owner the night before and he said he would give it to me but VRBO would be sending it- never happened. When we finally made it inside the gated community- I had no reception. The home is dated, but the bed was comfortable. The fireplace was nice. There was no cable but we could log into our Netflix. This home has the most dangerous parking I have ever seen!!! A fence, reflector, SOMETHING should be landmark so you dont go off the cliff i to the house. There was a dirty coffee pot that I had to clean to use and the other coffee dispenser had sugar all over it. The location is nice for someone looking to be abt 35 minutes outside of town. I looked at miles- not figuring the mountains to get there( my fault). Was to far for my liking.
