This was a wonderful trip. Sharon springs was exactly what we needed and more. We loved the view, the bowling alley, the kitchen, and there was a ton of space for all of us. We will definitely come back!!!

What a great group! We would be delighted to host them again. Very respectful of this historic property left everything tidy!
My friends and family couldn’t have felt more at home, and more spoiled by the amazing views, comfy rooms, and immaculate styling of the coolest house we’ve ever stayed in. Eve thing about our stay was picture perfect, and the house did all the work! Yvonne was so communicative, helpful, and we really appreciated all the touches!

It is always so heartwarming to hear that your friends and family enjoyed and appreciated our beloved Clausen Farm! Hope to see you again soon.
The beer Barrons house at Clausen Farms met and exceeded our expectations. The home is old 1800’s and if you need new with alot of bling this is not your place The owners have done alot to upgrade and improve the property in all aspects.
The view from the porch was stunning I wish we had the schedule to spend more time just to front porch sit.
The appointments the owners did fresh flowers, fresh fruits and a growler of beer upon arrival was a nice touch.
Could use more lighting for late arrivals and inside but everything was it top notch condition.
This is a very special property.

Thank you for your kind thoughtful response and suggestions. Since your stay we have added additional lighting in the common areas. We hope to see you again in the near future.
The host was a delight and gave a small tour/history of the house that was fascinating. The love for the property is apparent. Arrived to find the place spotless, with personal touches like fresh cut flowers, extra towels thoughtfully placed in the bedrooms. Every bath had different soaps, all very nice. We didn’t cook a lot but the kitchen is fully equipped to prepare meals. There’s a full bed/bathroom downstairs that is close to the living area but offers full privacy. Other small bathrooms are off the gym so the bedroom guest has their own. Great for folks not wanting stairs. Location was convenient to all activities we had planned in the area. Deceivingly close to the thruway and centrally located to many surrounding communities. Quiet location with very little light pollution for star gazers. I could write an essay about the view but suffice to say the sunsets/sunrises brought everyone to a standstill- just watching that horizon was breathtaking. We could’ve camped on the porch. Plenty of seating and tables for coffee/drinks, which we made use of as much as possible. The beds were comfortable and had plenty of pillows. Enough bathrooms upstairs to easily accommodate our group. We had so much fun bowling! Side note: if you keep the doors shut the noise is very low and won’t disturb the rest of house. The house is a historic gem, just full of character and details that are impossible to find elsewhere. Already planning another stay.

Denise, thank you for your beautiful review! We are always so happy when our guests see and appreciate the history and unique experience the Clausen property has to offer. Until next time, Yvonne & Sarka
This home is located in the cute town if Sharon Springs about 30 minutes from Cooperstown. Yvonne is very responsive and has done some nice renovations to this old but super cool historic (and huge) home. She left us fresh fruit in the kitchen and fresh flowers in every room. If you’re ok with an older historic home with its original wooden floors and walls, this place is for you! The bowling alley and ping pong pong room were especially cool! The house is definitely huge - 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms (if I counted correctly) - so it’s a bit creepy (and creaky) if you have a small group like we did. Our biggest complaints would be the lighting and the bugs. The kitchen and family room are especially dark at night. We wanted to cook dinner and play Uno, but we couldn’t see well enough. The house is out in the countryside, so bugs are expected, but it would have been nice to be able to open all the windows and doors to allow more airflow, but not all of them had screens or screen doors that fit well enough to keep the bugs out, so we had to keep them closed. It also would have been nice to have access to a few more towels like washcloths and kitchen towels. Some of the rooms don’t have access to outlets near the bed, so if you want to plug in your phone or a CPAP machine, you have to stay in certain rooms. Lastly, not all windows have window coverings, so that was something to get used to as well. All-in-all it was a nice stay and Yvonne is a lovely host.

Jodi, Thank you for your kind words and excellent suggestions. Since your stay we have corrected the lighting in the kitchen with a super bright light fixture over the kitchen island. In addition more lighting has been added to the living area. We had our electrician add additional outlets in the bedrooms. There are always additional towels and dish towels in the laundry room on the second floor. We apologize if that was not made clear at check in. Lastly, all the doors and windows will be getting screen windows and or doors. Again, thank you for your feedback! We always welcome an opportunity to improve our guests stay at Clausen Farm.
