This is an amazing property on a farm with a fascinating history which is being lovingly restored and developed by it's owners. The rental unit itself is super clean, and well appointed. There are two entertainment rooms for those who desire that, but my favorite entertainment was just sitting
on the front porch or on the back deck and viewing the peaceful pastoral scenes of cattle grazing. This is the perfect property for getting away from it all in total comfort. Be prepared to bring in your own food, as any type of grocery or pharmacy is about a half an hour ride. Be sure and contact the owners so you can try their Waygu beef, which is super delicious.
The property is beautiful and quiet, it is a great getaway. We saw a lot of deer and other wildlife. The house was immaculate. The towels and linens were high end. The owners thought of "extras" guests may need and forgot to bring to have on hand (makeup wipes, feminine supplies, snacks and stocked coffee bar). Hubby loved the lounge area upstairs with a huge TV and all the movies. We especially love that this property is dog friendly, our dog Bo loved his time on the farm. We would definitely stay again.
If your looking for a great game day get away this is the place for you! Especially, if you love traveling with your dog as much as we do!
There is tons of space for them to run around and be adventurous, have fun and best of all no worries about traffic or neighbors!
This place was a great relaxing retreat for us. We loved being a way from everything and just being us! The views are amazing and the farm is very cool.
I would highly recommend to anyone, to stay here. It may require a bit more planning (meals, supplies, etc.) being out of the way and all. But the trade off if being HIGHLY pet friendly, great views, privacy and lastly top notch accommodations!
We’ve stayed at many VRBO’s but this stood out amongst them all. From booking to checkout this was a seamless and easy process. Madeline was very communicative and welcoming throughout, and her web based guidebook is fantastic! The General’s Store was furnished and equipped with everything we could ask for in a stay. All the personal touches made it feel like home. Our family stayed here for a quick holiday get away and we couldn’t be more pleased with the location, accommodation and host! Completely provided the break from the hustle and bustle or city living. We were serenaded daily by the sounds of the cows and everything a farm affords. Fantastic location for hiking, fishing, and getting out to all the local establishments. Since we couldn’t get everything in on this trip we’ll be staying here again our next trip.
Awesome, beautiful, and very unique place to stay with plenty of room for canine friends to play and run! A gem! Not to mention a cute welcome gift and other special “niceties” like a coffee/tea bar, mini-library, grill, well-equipped kitchen, 5-star linens, and even an outdoor hose out back in case your mountain bike or dog needs a rinse.
The only bathroom is located downstairs, a bit far from the bedroom, but it’s a clear, safe, and well-lit path for those who experience middle-of-the-night visits!
My family and I loved being able to relax and unwind at this beautiful property. The owners were very communicative and even showed us around the farm. My kids loved seeing the baby cows and being able to explore the farm. I’m usually ready to go home after a vacation but I already felt at home and could have stayed much longer.
Luxurious simplicity. Clean, Contained, Quiet, Equipped. Friendly owner and fine animals... plenty of books movies and good WiFi - but who needs that? Front Porch, BBQ, super-fine sound system. Boll and Branch Sheets. Heaven.
