The Hygge [pronounced, Hoo-Gah] is the third and largest design by Box Hop team (Emily & Seth Britt). Using 7 shipping containers, the design is laid out and created with larger groups and families in mind. The open floor plan and five bedrooms leave plenty of room to bring the party with you! Although the Hygge is quite minimalistic, there are no luxuries spared. If you’re not out enjoying Hocking Hills, you can cozy up to one of our matching suspended wood-burning fireplaces.
Only 12 miles from Hocking Hills State Park, 5 miles from Cantwell Cliffs, 8 miles from Rock House trail -- there are endless activities in this area. To name a few: zip-lining & canopy tours, canoeing trips, hiking & biking trails, fishing, and horseback riding. There are also several local shops, restaurants, breweries, scenic tours and the John Glenn Astronomy Park.
If you’re not out enjoying Hocking Hills, you can cozy up to one of our matching suspended wood-burning fireplaces located both inside and outside the box.
When you arrive to the Hygge, take notice of the Scandi vibe and unique look - can you tell it was built with shipping containers? Wait until you see the back side where four of the bedrooms have their own private patio created from the doors of the containers. Mighty yet minimal this one.
INSIDE HIGHLIGHTS: Five bedrooms; 3 queen size beds & 2 full size beds Two full bathrooms - one on each floor Two suspended wood-burning fireplaces - one inside and one outside Full kitchen stocked with cookware & serving dishes Washer and dryer Air mattress (queen) available
Tucked in the back corner of the eighteen+ acres of the property, you are welcome to hike and explore or simply sit on your private patio with coffee in hand. You could also take that coffee or a cocktail into the spa enclosure outside and soak in Mother Nature from the Sauna or Hot tub that come with awesome views of a wooded ravine.
The first floor deck extends the living space outside with large outdoor couches and chairs, a suspended fireplace, and a gas grill. There is lots of room on the deck to pull out corn hole, ring toss, or any other eventful shenanigans.
OUTSIDE HIGHLIGHTS: Large deck overlooking the ravine Suspended wood-burning fireplace Gas grill Enclosed/Covered Spa Area Hot tub Sauna 18.5 acres to hike and explore

Perfect family Christmas home
We rented the Hygge for our entire family— parents, adult children and their kids and partners —to spend the Christmas holiday together. It was pretty much perfect: the home was cozy, private, well furnished (comfortable furniture and bedding, lots of kitchen supplies ), and it was even decorated for the holidays upon our arrival with a tree with lights and stockings hung. That was such a special touch. We loved the sauna and hot tub, and we also enjoyed the outdoor fireplace and grill. It is located close enough to some great Hocking Hills attractions, like Rock House, but we mainly enjoyed staying in, cooking, playing games, and being together, and the space allowed us to do so comfortably. We would rent from Box Hop again!
Such a cool house!!! Great location!!! Hosts were responsive!!! I highly recommend!!

MUST STAY HERE
absolutely loved our stay at the BoxHop Hygge! It was spotless when we arrived, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy. The location felt perfectly secluded and peaceful, tucked in the woods of hocking hills. The design was so unique and creative—built from shipping containers, which made it even cooler. I've stayed a lot of places in hocking but none quite like this! A truly memorable getaway. Highly recommend!

Great weekend getaway
The place was great, the hosts were very attentive. The cleaning from the previous party was sub par but I’m somewhat of a Monica Gellar when it comes to that stuff. Would stay here again
Definitely plan to return! My whole family loved it.
Super cool property!!

Great!
We always love staying at the Hygge. Management is responsive and helpful, and the property is always clean and welcoming. The drive up is beautiful and easy, and once you're there, it’s a wonderful area to explore on foot. The bathrooms are spacious and spotless, and they’ve done a great job making the most of every part of the cabin. Ending the day in the hot tub or sauna is always a highlight!

The Hygge Box Hop Is Stunning!
This was our 3rd stay at a Box Hop property and The Hygge is a gorgeous! Everything was spotless and the little extras they provide in the tote bag are so thoughtful and appreciated. The decor is beautiful and layout of The Hygge is so spacious. Spectacular wooded views out of every single room and we even saw some deer roaming through the trees while sitting in the living room area. We had a fantastic stay at The Hygge Box Hop and I highly recommend it to anyone staying in the Hocking Hills area.
Our Hygge Box Hop was amazing! The house was clean and beautiful with fabulous amenities. The perfect size and location to relax, hike, and enjoy the company of a great group of friends! I highly recommend this gorgeous VRBO!

Great location, easy to find, and everything was so clean. The hot tub and sauna were fantastic.
Kitchen had all the essentials, plenty of parking, loved the antique malls around the area. Everything you could need is just right down the road.
We loved staying at the Hygee. Thanks for having us!

Perfect for girls weekend
My girlfriends and I stayed at the Hygge for a weekend away, and it was perfect. The large patio and other amenities like the hot tub and sauna were a delight. Everything was great, we had only wished there were long matches for the fireplace and a bigger toaster, but other than that we can't wait to come back!
Loved it! Communication could have been better but otherwise had a good time!

wonderful girls trip
We absolutely loved staying at The Hygge Box Hop! I scheduled a girls night for four of my friends. It was so lovely to have so much space for ourselves as we are all working moms, and the house was so quiet! We especially enjoyed the sauna, the well appointed kitchen, and the super comfy beds! Thank you, we will be back!

Hygge
Second time staying in one of your cabins. First time in Hygge. Downstairs bathroom door was locked from the inside. Came to get away but would have been nice if internet had worked so the kids could watch movies at night. Otherwise enjoyed out time.

Cozy retreat
My husband, daughters (age 10,9, and 4) visited Hocking Hills for the first time and had the best experience. The house was ready for us, tidy, clean and oh so cozy!!! We especially loved the hot tub and fires for s'mores! My husband loved the sauna and daughters liked the piano (a little too much!!). I loved staying cozy with my coffee in the morning enjoying the wall of windows filled with beautiful trees.
I can't say enough about this sweet home in the woods- it was perfect for the 5 of us!

Five Stars for Sure!
This is our second time staying at the Box Hop to celebrate our (now) 22nd wedding anniversary. As we did last year, dear friends joined us, and we all were just blown away by the spaciousness, the decor, the amenities, and location. Everything could have not been more perfect for a much-needed relaxation getaway for all of us, really. Loved the sauna, hot tub, and pull -down TV projector screen. We did not grill due to the drought burn ban, but we took advantage of the awesome kitchen and had amazing meals together. Everything was so comfortable, and it was a blessing to be in the woods, in nature. The Hygge deserves a 5-star rating for sure. THANK YOU to Emily and Seth for creating such wonderful places for all of us to enjoy!

So pretty
We loved how much space there was in the hygge! This was our 4th time staying at a box hop property and the spaces never disappoint. The Hygge felt so luxurious and the piano was a huge hit with our seven year old. Having your own private sauna was such a nice bonus. We did not have any fire wood left for us but received a quick response as to where we could grab some from. We also booked with a promotional code and didn’t receive the fall gift that I thought was supposed to be included which was a little disappointing.
