About this property

Following Seas - Pup friendly retreat by Sea and Sound!

NEW! Welcome to Following Seas, located in a beautiful neighborhood on a quiet cul de sac, our place is perfect for families. Walking distance to the beach, sound, and the Bay Drive Multi-Use Path. Open concept living and kitchen area with a loft. 3 story, 3 BR and 2 Full Bath. Fully appointed kitchen with brand new appliances and a multiple outdoor spaces. Wonderful new fire pit area in our fully fenced backyard. Linens provided. Our home is so peaceful, just like sailing in following seas.

We are so excited to share our new home with you! While we may be new, our local host is very experienced with five stars on all of her properties. She brings that attention to detail and love of hosting with her:-)

We are dog friendly (one dog and no other pets) with a fully fenced yard!

About the house: When you enter the house, you’ll enter into the mudroom, which houses a washer and dryer and assorted beach gear. Off that entry room is the first bedroom, which has bunk beds. There is a double bed, a twin bed and a twin trundle as well as a couch and a TV for the kiddos!

Up the stairs you’ll find the first bedroom on the main floor to your left which has a queen bed, and lots of extra space for a pack and play which is kept in the closet. Straight ahead and off the bedroom is a fully renovated bathroom with bath tub and shower. The bathroom is accessible from the hall and from the bedroom. To your right is the kitchen, dining room, and living room. The kitchen has everything you would need to cook and serve for six. We have a Kuerig duo and a French press as well as a crock pot, toaster and blender.

Our deck wraps around the front of the house and to the right where we have outdoor seating and a table that seats six as well as a propane grill.

Up the stairs, is the master bedroom which has a king bed and an en-suite bathroom with shower stall and double sinks. There is a lovely deck for two off the master bedroom which looks out onto the backyard. We have plenty of space in our walk-in closet and a dresser as well. There is a small TV in each bedroom equipped with Roku. We do not have cable, but we do have the fastest Internet available in the Outer Banks.

Last but not least, we have a lovely new fire pit in the backyard which works with propane. You’ll find our home has lots of spaces to hang out together but also spaces to hang apart. It is spacious and peaceful and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do. ~~~Athena and Kyle

Very dog friendly and dog owner friendly!
The property was clean and had absolutely everything we needed and then some! They even had dog food and water bowls in addition to the large crate and secure, fenced-in backyard area. Nice kitchen area and cozy family room to stream your favorite shows. My absolute favorite spot was the deck above the driveway where I enjoyed my coffee each morning before heading to the beach. It’s on a very quiet cul-de-sac in a nice neighborhood. The sun rises on the back of the house so the front deck is super comfortable in the morning. On the last night my husband and I finally sat outside on the uppermost deck. The breeze up there really made the July heat insignificant. We also enjoyed making S’mores around the fire pit. I will describe the distance to the beach. We rented bikes and rode them to the beach each day. It probably wasn’t more than 5 minutes except that you definitely want to cross the busy highway at the light and sometimes the wait for the light is longer than the actual bike ride. Not a problem at all. Very close. We never walked it but saw many people who did. There are other close beach accesses with parking for cars. The beach itself is very nice with soft light brown sand. Waves are good for surfing and boogie boarding. There was a lifeguard on duty at the beach access that we used and the beach was lively but not crowded. We also enjoyed riding bikes along the multi-use path that runs parallel to the bay. We would definitely stay here again!

Great stay!
Our family fully enjoyed our stay at this home. It was very clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We liked being close to the bay - easy walk to nightly sunsets and the multi-use path. The fenced in yard (and dog crate) were a plus for our pup. The neighborhood was quiet and the owner was very responsive. We would definitely stay here again!

Private, Peaceful, and Pup Approved
We have a large, young dog who had never traveled and also shared the house with our teen and adult sons and daughter-in-law. This house was ideal for our needs. It's located on a quiet cul-de-sac in a neighborhood that is nice for walking or jogging and the house has a large, fully fenced back yard with plenty of room to play fetch. Because the bedrooms were on separate floors (and quite large) we all had private space when needed but also plenty of gathering space. The owners were friendly and responsive. We had a wonderful stay here and would recommend it to others!

Cute, clean and convenient
We wanted a place for an extended weekend for my husband and I and another couple and ar last minute my adult son was able to join us. It was very clean and relaxing. Would highly recommend it. There is a couple things that would have made it perfect, but nice.
