The home is close to the college town of Boone and also Blowing Rock. It is also close to many hiking trails and the blue ridge parkway. We brought our morkie, and she had a great time as well.

Our stay was excellent! What stood out the most was the seclusion and serenity of the property. It was absolutely beautiful on top of the mountain, and the house itself was lovely. The amenities were exactly as described, and everything inside and out was very well maintained. We had a fantastic Thanksgiving, and our stay couldn’t have been more perfect. We’ll definitely be back!

The property itself was fine. Quite cozy and great views. I believe the management company was lacking. The code on the entry keypad wasn’t working properly, lightbulbs were literally missing and some were burnt out, there was no dishwasher tabs, etc. The second floor had a pet smell and large chess pieces were locked away. We were in town a few weeks before and asked if they could share the address to gauge whether the drive felt safe enough for younger drivers in small cars. They wouldn’t share the address. The driveway isn’t safe for younger drivers and because of that we had to pivot plans at the last minute. Fair warning - the listing says it’s on 30 acres, but it’s literally on the side of the mountain, so there’s not much room to walk other than the one lane road. Also, be aware that the neighbors drive down that one lane road way too aggressively. We had to slam on brakes twice to avoid hitting them head on.

The main living room has a fireplace that is open on both sides, directly into the main bedroom. It is hopeless to use the tv and or the living room if someone is trying to sleep as the light and noise from the tv will go directly into the bedroom. Yes it's a fireplace but it is in fact a huge hole in your bedroom wall. This is not listed in the description and was a major inconvenience. The light in the morning also comes directly into your eyes as the blinds in the living room were not properly working. The gutter that ran along the top of the main entrance is overgrown and so overflowed directly on us as we arrived and unpacked in rain. This place would be fun for large families with kids. It is sad because it is indeed a nice house overall but there has been evidence of neglect both inside and outside. We were met with an ashtray full of cigarettes on the balcony where it said smoking was strictly prohibited. I am more upset that the cleaners missed that. There was moss and mold that made some of the balcony unusable. I don't know how that could be presented to visitors.
We wanted a quick get away for my birthday and had never been to the area. Hilltop Hideaway was perfect. Great outdoor area to enjoy the gorgeous views. Comfortable house with room to spread out. We enjoyed the fire pit and made s’mores. Close to a lot of things- hiking, restaurants. We enjoyed our stay.

Great location, close to Boone, but secluded with FANTASTIC vista from front porch. Convenient to Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk and Blue Ridge Pkwy.
