Rustic secluded Oldman riverside cabin with one and a half miles private access. Minutes from Waterton, Castle and Crowsnest rivers. Only forty minutes to Waterton National Park. Mature cottonwood, choke cherry and Saskatoon forest. Drift boat and fishing guides available. Trophy size brown, rainbow, and bull trout. Many of our guests have landed their personal best! Rainbows and browns in the twenties and bull trout up to thirty inches are possible. Unlimited walk and wade for our guests. Miles of trails for guests and Fido. We are dog friendly. Two hours from Calgary International. Quiet and tranquil.

Joe was an excellent host. The cabin itself is quite rustic so if you're not into nature and expect everything to be spotless, and/or need internet/cell service, then this place may not be for you. The location is AMAZING. We loved not having wifi or cell service; the peace, quiet and privacy was incredible; sitting by the river and letting our dog explore the property was wonderful. It was also a really good jumping off point for visiting Crowsnest Pass, Fernie and Waterton. Joe's stories were so interesting and staying on the ranch was a nice treat for us. Overall a good experience and we'll be back.

Joe is amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Property is beautiful. Small appliances could use some upgrades and some cleaning to small items, ie fans is required. Lots of freedom for dog. Steps from river and fly fishing. Remember to bring baggies and foil etc as none on site.

Joe is a very gracious and hospitable host - he was there to greet us upon arrival with a warm/welcoming tour of the cabin and property. We had a great stay, despite the "top-gun" skill set of mosquitos :). The river was extremely high due to record seasonal rains (which was a very good thing) so we had to seek alternative areas for fishing...which were very easy to find. The cabin has a ton of character. IF you're looking for the "Ritz", look elsewhere. If you're looking for a tranquil, off the grid, quiet spot with tons of wild life, privacy and character, you've found it! Joe will ensure you have everything you need and more. He's a local who's done it all in this part of Alberta and he'll point you in whatever direction you'd like to head. Enjoy.

This cabin and location is perfect for a family vacation with your dogs! The cabin is charmingly rustic - everything you need and kid/dog friendly. Our grandsons (4 & 2 years) joined us for a day, brought their bikes and spent hours biking the dirt roads with the dogs chasing them - they loved it! We explored the shoreline looking for interesting rocks, enjoyed watching the trout jumping and birds.Unfortunately, a fire ban was in place, so we did our s’mores on the barbecue wrapped in foil - delicious! (I’ll have to try that at home!) I imagine it would be pretty magical sitting around a fire, star gazing at night, next time!The weather turned wet and chilly, so didn’t get out exploring the trails with the dogs as much as we had planned - especially up to an old teepee ring above the river valley, next time!Joe was awesome, helpful and lots of interesting stories to share about the area. He mentioned he’d done a ‘pick up’ for people who brought their kayaks, again, something to consider for next time!This is a beautiful, unique part of Alberta, many opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts and unique historical sites to explore. I feel we just scratched the surface, so looking forward to another trip down the road!(Note, wifi is spotty, so do your googling the area before you arrive.)Thanks Joe for sharing your ranch with us!

Fish the Oldman River, Crow's Nest River, Castle River, Oldman River Reservoir. Waterton National Park is only a 45 minute drive away from this remote cabin.
