Mike and the Lake View Cottage are both every bit as good as it looks in the photos. We had a great time and certainly look forward to coming back in the future.

This was the perfect cottage for our anniversary getaway. Very cute and the host has thought of everything. Great attention to little details like a variety of condiments available for your use; oversized, very soft bath towels and super comfy bed. Mike’s communication was outstanding. Location is great as well. Quiet yet not in the middle of nowhere. Anything you may need is nearby. The setting is great. True Florida. Dock with seating overlooking the water. We didn’t take advantage of the pool or hot tub but they look very well maintained as well.

Glass house a cute escape by a lake
Our favorite parts were the dock (which could use a quick cleaning), the hot tub (just make sure you reserve a time to get it hot) and the couch (very comfy). The wifi was also quite good (we worked all week and used a good amount of bandwidth). The windows are great, but they were quite dirty when we visited. The pool is not heated - so swimming was off the table for us. The property is right behind a chicken coop - so you will be regaled with crowing roosters during your time. The table is ok for working, but the chairs are not the most comfortable if you are going to be sitting for extended periods of time. The hosts are kind and helpful.

We are experienced hosts and have 5 star ratings through other sites.
We like to give the guests privacy and do not go back in the dock while hosting unless the guest ask us to. He mentioned the last day of his 5 days stay that the dock had bird dropping. Prior to the guest checking in it was cleaned.
We do advertise that the rooster crows in the morning. We also advertise that the spa is heated and the pool is not. The dining area table and chairs are normal eating chairs. I understand that they worked all day, and sitting on those chairs all day may not have been as comfortable. However, there was a rolling comfortable chair that the guest could have rolled to the dining table which is very comfortable. The chicken coop is about 200 ft from the cottage. It is surrounded by trees.
We had two hurricanes come through, and we are finally getting to normalization. In addition to daily cleaning, we have the property mowed and cleaned every week.
We try to accommodate every guests and we even ordered a rice cooker from Amazon when the guest insisted he was going to make rice. The guest ended up using other pots and pans that were in the cottage and left the rice cooker in the box. I ask the guests to let me know at least an hour before using the spa, to make sure is hot when they get there. You cannot let the spa run 24 hours a day especially when no one is using the spa. People have stayed for weeks, and no one ever left the cottage as dirty as this guest left in 5 days
