About this property
Hidden Falls, Romantic Couples Escape in Western NC Mountains
Designed for couples and romance, the Elk Hollow community caters to adults. Located between two very quiet subdivisions and a horse pasture, you’re more likely to hear birdsong and the rushing of the creek than the disruptive sounds of civilization. Make sure to keep an eye out for the local wildlife and you may be treated to the sight of deer or wild turkey.
LIVING SPACES
With upscale rustic furnishings and polished concrete floor, you and your sweetheart will love this romantic getaway in the scenic western North Carolina mountains. The attention to detail is evident in all the thoughtful touches found throughout the yurt.
Designed for simplicity, you’ll find everything you need in one spacious area. The deep, plush sofa feels wonderful after a day out exploring the surrounding areas, while the built-in chaise lounge is a luxurious extra.
On a cozy evening in, be sure to take advantage of the wall-mounted TV with DirecTV and Wi-Fi to catch up on your favorite show or enjoy a movie night.
KITCHEN AND DINING
Create the simplest of snacks or the most elaborate of meals in this fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite counters. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at how roomy this space is and how easy it is to prepare all your favorites. We’ve also stocked the pantry with all your basic needs.
An intimate table for two allows you to enjoy the beautiful scenery as well as the company of your loved one.
BEDROOMS AND BATHS
Set off to the side of the space for privacy is the bedroom area, complete with a luxury king-size bed, with dual nightstands and lamps, perfect for the late-night reader.
A stylish freestanding tub sits in the corner to soak tired muscles after a day out in nature.
The full bath features a walk-in shower.
For our guests’ convenience, we also provide a full-size washer and dryer.
OUTDOOR AMENITIES
An oversized porch facing the woods will certainly become your favorite spot for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. It’s also the perfect vantage point to watch for furry or feathered visitors!
Be sure to take advantage of the gas grill and enjoy a meal al fresco at the nearby picnic table.
A firepit will tempt you into roasting marshmallows or making s’mores as you enjoy the cool mountain air.
Perhaps best of all is the hot tub, strategically placed to offer the most privacy. Nothing feels better than sinking into those warm bubbles and feeling the last of your cares melt away.
Please note: No smoking or vaping. No pets. No parties or events. One step up to enter the yurt.
What's Nearby?
Our property is just a minute or two from the Deep Creek entrance to the Smoky Mountain National Park and just about five minutes from downtown if scenic Bryson City, NC. We are located on the southern side of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which is a sports and outdoor enthusiasts’ dream come true. Some of the best trout fishing on the eastern seaboard is located here. You’ll also find tubing available at the entrance to Deep Creek, and whitewater rafting can be had at several locations including the Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) about 30 minutes away.
Downtown Bryson City has many restaurants that offer a variety of choices, from burgers and beer, to Italian, Mexican, microbreweries, and more!
The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad is one of only a few narrow-gauge steam railroads that have passenger service. In the winter months, the Polar Express is very popular with both kids and kids at heart.
Another attraction in Bryson City is the Road to Nowhere. This six-mile drive into the park ends with a 1000-foot tunnel through a mountain and then goes nowhere and make for a really fun afternoon excursion.
Nearly every motorcyclist and sports car enthusiast across the country knows about the Tail of the Dragon, which boasts an eye-popping 318 curves in 11 miles. This “drive it if you dare” road is about an hour away.
Beautiful Fontana Lake and the Nantahala Outdoor Center are in the vicinity and both worth an afternoon or full day if you have the time and inclination.
A moving outdoor drama of the Cherokee people, “Unto These Hills” is performed during the summer months. Cherokee, NC is about 20 minutes away, which is home to Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort.
You can also cross over the mountains in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on Hwy 441 through Newfound Gap that has beautiful, picturesque views and then heads into Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, TN for a taste of the “big city”. This will lead you to Dollywood, which is a major theme park celebrating the Smoky Mountains.

About the host

Hello, my name is Jeanetta and I’m thrilled that you’re considering our property for your next Western North Carolina vacation!
After 34 years in the vacation rental industry, I decided to sell and consolidate everything into the Elk Hollow community. near Bryson City, NC. I love that its location is so close to the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It’s so quiet there, just a little piece of paradise waiting to be discovered. With tons of hardwood trees, a little stream, and wildlife like turkeys and deer, I could just soak it up forever.
There’s nothing more important to me than excellent customer service. I want all my guests to have a relaxing time and feel safe and comfortable. I really want them to find more to do than they have time for and have more fun than they expected!
As for me, I love gardening and all things outdoors.
I love spending time with my family. I hope that my two children and 6 grandchildren will all enjoy the mountains as much as I and their grandfather do.
It’s probably not a surprise that I enjoy traveling and experiencing new places. But I also love being home with my friends and family, and entertaining. It’s important to have a balance.
I hope to see you soon at Elk Hollow!

Why they chose this property
After 34 years as a property manager, my husband and I purchased this property to start a new chapter in our lives. We look forward to welcoming guests to our new community, Elk Hollow.
What makes this property unique
When you’d rather see wildlife than crowds of people and enjoy your day out in nature rather than man-made attractions, our luxury yurt is for you. Located in the brand-new community of Elk Hollow, we are adjacent to the entrance of the Deep Creek Loop in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. After a peaceful hike, return to your romantic and fully equipped 16-sided hard-walled yurt with a sweeping ceiling and glass dome to enjoy a soak in the private hot tub overlooking the mountains.
