We had a great time during our stay at the lodge. The place was clean and there was plenty of room for everyone to relax. Would stay there again if we come back to the area.
We had a great time with a group of 4 couples! The kitchen and family room were spacious and accommodating for a large group. Also a great location, close to Hayward and Cable, with privacy being located on a private lake. Great for larger groups!

Hi Nanci,
We had a great time having you. Thank you for staying at Mosbaek Lake Lodge.
Kindly,
Dustin
Our extended family of 15 spent the last week of June at Mosbaek Lodge and had a fantastic week! We had plenty of space to spread out for sleeping and to find alone time while also enjoying indoor and outdoor spaces that could accommodate everyone. We enjoyed the game room, catching pike in the private lake, pickleball courts four minutes away, a day trip to Duluth, movie nights in and short hikes on the property and surrounding area. We ranged in age from 75 to 9 years old and everyone had a great week. Mosbaek is a peaceful and fun place to be!

Hi Steve,
I'm glad you had a nice time. Come back anytime.

We had such a lovely time in this lodge! It was just perfect for the group of cross-country skiers we brought into town. There is plenty of space for the stated capacity, and the quirky layout led to some excited exploring. It snowed while we were there, and it was so nice to look out on the lake and its wintry scenery. The driveway was also plowed promptly, which we appreciated! We'd look forward to staying here again!
We recently stayed for a long weekend atv trip. Check in was easy and the property was exactly how it is described. Plenty of parking, very spacious rooms, kitchen, and dining.

We had a great time in this spacious cabin. Definitely has the feeling of a family cabin with updated modern kitchen. Well kept and clean. My friend had a flat tire on the way out and the owner went above and beyond to help us! Very nice people. We will be back.
Loved our stay. Three families stayed together to relax during MEA: went trail riding, played A LOT of games in the garage space, enjoyed walks outside, and laughed around the fireplace. We all loved the uniqueness of the space. Teenagers loved the loft above the garage. Very happy with our stay!
Property was very big for 9 mid aged guys. Had plenty room for 3 trucks and trailers. Was very close to the snowmobile trails. Only issue was that I didn't read the rental agreement that said they didn't supply towels. Would definitely stay here again.
Was a great stay with a well stocked kitchen for pots and pans. We had a wonderful Christmas at this place. Something to plan for is that towels were not provided and our family flying in from out of the region had to buy towels for the week.
The management company was very responsive and easy to work with throughout the stay. Would definitely recommend.
The space fit our large group of 9 adults and 7 children comfortably. The outdoor space was beautiful, private and secluded. The Adults and kids alike loved it! We plan to come back.
Our entire family has voted to return and stay more days! Super clean, room for everyone to have some privacy along with so many activities both inside and out. We have never stayed in such a well-equipped rental. The entire property felt like home!
This property was a little difficult to find but worth it when when we arrived. It was ideal for our large atv group to stay and make meals when we came off the trails. We could leave from the house some days with the atvs but other days needed to trailer to be legal. Mosquito spray is a must at this property.
As we all arrived at various times to check in, we were all amazed at the amount of space for us all to spread out a sleep comfortably! Plenty of bathrooms and showers available. Super clean. The private lake was perfect for paddling and floating! Gardens/ponds were perfect for frog hunting! Highly recommend!
Overall, I’m very impressed with this cabin. Upon arrival, you’re instantly met with the stunning prairies and river that surround the property. At the cabin, there is no one around you. Total privacy is what you’ll get if you book here.
Our group enjoyed the game room a ton since it rained while we were staying here. This cabin is also very convenient for getting back into town in Hayward (~15 minute drive).
Overall, the yard had plenty of space for games, the kitchen space worked very well for making family style meals, and the host provided great communication and instructions for checking in and checking out.
10/10 would stay here again!
A Magical Fantasy that left my Husband and Adult Kid's Speechless!!
As we pulled up to the Garage the looks on My Husband and kid's faces was that of "Is it really going to be that good?", They were all very quiet! We went into the garage and silence, We went up the stairs to the Bunk room and all I heard was "This is nice!", We walked over to the main "cabin" and into the Wrap around hall and Kitchen and that was it, I couldn't keep up with them! My Husband in front of the kids with the look on His Face of about a 10 Year old, Kind of Like Josh in the Movie "BIG"!! The Tower was used quite often, My Son was up and out fishing by 7:30am, My Daughter would go on many walks and took a lot of Pictures. It was like the best Movie of the year, But I don't want to ruin the end for anyone!!!!
We stayed at this amazing property Jan 23rd-28th 2024, we celebrated Christmas with our kids & grandkids. We do this annually at a cabin get-away for a week to celebrate. This home was truly unique/beautiful, 3 levels, the kids absolutely loved it. Observatory was so cool, unfortunately it was cloudy during our stay so no stars to see at night. Not enough snow this year to bring our snowmobiles, so we brought our side by sides & the mini 4 wheelers for the littles. Trails were open to ride & they are right off the property. We however didnt ride on them, but we rode around the property/woods, it was lovely. We did ice fish on the pond, it was a blast and plenty of fish! We had a bonfire one day & night. They also left up outside Christmas lights & decorations in the home for us for our Christmas! The house was well stocked, kitchen had everything & then some! The listing is correct, you do have to provide your own bath towels, not a big deal, just bring one each (for easy packing) & there is a washer & dryer, they provide detergent & softener, so you can wash your towels for longer stays. They also provide hand towels for kitchen & batherooms. The carriage house was awesome as well, the game room underneath was used every night too. They provide a space in there to clean your fish! I could go on about this property, but there isn't enough room, we definetly plan to come back in the summer time too. We spoke to the owners & they were very kind & generous! Thank you!
I booked a week stay for my entire family. There was plenty of room and had a lovely kitchen in the main house. The private lake was nice but don't expect to do any real fishing there... its mostly for the kids to paddle around in. It was a very spacious lot with plenty of room and the property exterior was well manicured. It was about 15 minutes from Hayward, which was nice. One of my favorite spots was the deck. Nice grill and plenty of space to enjoy the view.
We overall had a nice time during the vacation. However, I'd like to point out some issues we had... which are easily fixable.
1. The main house had a sulfur smell a few times due to, what I assume was, back gas from septic. Usually after it rained.
2. Their remodeling left a few issues. I cut my foot on a nail sticking up our of the carpet in the carriage house. The bathroom sink in the main house leaked (we had to put a pot under) and they didn't respond to that issue at all during our stay. However, they did respond to the septic issue and a water heater issue... but we had resolved it ourselves.
3. The temperature in all the rooms and the carriage house were not consistent. The carriage house was a little too warm, certain rooms in the main house were hot. We had plenty of fans, but the lack of cool air made it less enjoyable.
4. The interior of both houses were dirty when we arrived. We had to clean the floors, surfaces, microwave, and vacuum. Not how we expected to start the vacation. And it made many of us uneasy about the cleanliness of the beds.
All said and done... we had a nice time away from home and with family. But like the title says... there were some "fixable" issues that were less than perfect.
