Imagine spending a vacation at a charming lakefront cottage that reminds you of days-gone-by while still offering all the comforts you would need and expect. Picture a home that is just waiting for you to make your own wonderful memories around the large dining room table or reconnecting on the three-season porch. How about taking a cup of coffee down to the dock and sandy beach, gazing across the beautiful lake while loons call out in the distance? When was the last time you read a book while relaxing in a lakeside hammock? This vintage lake house offers all these opportunities and more.

Welcome to “Windemere” in Wolfeboro, located on beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee! Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the gorgeous lake views, private beach, and large dock that beckon you to relax, swim, tan, and play. The front yard is level and large and offers plenty of room for outdoor recreation. The dock is partially covered with an awning and provides plenty of room for seating in shade or sun. Bluetooth speakers have been installed allowing you to listen to you favorite music while enjoying the outdoors. The dock can accommodate two boats up to 24 feet in length each.

The home, built in 1919, has wainscoted walls, a beautiful stone fireplace, large bedrooms, two porches, and nostalgic touches while still incorporating elements such as a kitchen with modern conveniences and newly renovated bathrooms, cable tv, Wi-Fi, and a washer and dryer. Windemere is located one mile from downtown Wolfeboro; an easy walk, 5 minute drive, or 10 minute boat ride away. The town is affectionately known as “The Oldest Summer Resort in America” and offers many quaint shops including a bookstore, great restaurants, bakeries and ice cream shops, gift shops, and more. Windemere in historic Wolfeboro is a summer home you will want to return to year after year!

Fresh Linens may be rented, the fee for this property is $135 for sheets and $12 per person for towels. If you would like to have the beds made for you, the fee is $8 per bed.

Fabulous time at Old Time Family Lodge

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of ten loved every minute of our stay here, even with the pouring rain on Monday! We loved walking out the porch door to the dock and mini beach on site, the boat yard four houses away with boats for rent, the quick (one hour and change) trip to Storyland and the lovely little downtown Wolfeboro (about 1 1/2 mile away from the house) that was busy yet never seemed crowded. The house had plenty of rooms to spread out, yet we could all eat together in the dining room. Favorite vacation so far!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved the ambiance of the home and the history. Enjoyed our stay and location on the lake....spent time on the dock all day!! Two areas that could be addressed are the bugs (gnats) being tough in the evening inside the home. The bathroom description should be updated to include tub only bathrooms and there was no need to rent bath towels as they were provided.
