About this property

Dramatic mountain scenery, low-humidity and plenty of sunlight and starlight.

This spectacular mountain setting is just two hours from Yellowstone National Park and minutes from national park and forest trails (for hiking and all terrain vehicles), the Snake River and the Palisades Reservoir. The stars are brilliantly clear at night because of little artificial light. Rentals for all terrain vehicle and boats and for golf & horseback riding all are within a half hour. Natural hot springs, rodeos and the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort tram to a two-mile high mountain top vista are within an hour. Enjoy the complete kitchen, an open living area with lots of natural light, a large master suite and Jacuzzi, and covered decks with a picnic table, a propane grill and a HUGE back yard. A full-service grocery, pharmacy and wine and spirit store is 1.5 miles, and the emergency health care center is 3 minutes away. Drive in any direction for more astonishing mountain peak and canyon views.
We grant a 10% discount for stays of 7 to 29 days and a 20% discount for stays of 30 days or more.

Perfect Mountain Getaway
We had the most wonderful experience during our stay at Dave's remarkable home. Nestled against a breathtaking mountain backdrop, the views from both the front porch and the back deck were beautiful. One of the highlights of our stay was walking down to the riverfront (a .5 mile walk from the home). It gave you a different view of the mountains and we even saw a family of bald eagles. The home itself was clean, spacious, and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen had all the things you needed to cook. The location was great as well for the following reasons: - Close to a grocery store and restaurants (5 minutes from the small Alpine downtown) - 1 hour from the entrance of Grand Teton National Park - 5 minutes away from rafting trips and 4x4 rentals - 45 minutes from Jackson Hole The hosts were responsive when we had questions. One last note: I was worried about the 85-degree days and only having 1 AC unit. But the house stayed cool and comfortable. We didn’t feel hot at all and didn’t even turn the AC. If you are like us and are from a hot and humid area of the country that may sound crazy, but the mountain climate is very different and it gets cool at night and keeps the home comfortable.

Phenomenal!
Alpine, Wyoming is a charming town about 45 minutes south of Jackson. We selected it because we weren't tied to Jackson and wanted to explore the entire area. This house enabled us to easily travel north to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone and south into the towns of the Star Valley. The grocery store, only 5 minutes away, was across the street from a mini-mall that had a hair salon where the stylist accommodated a last minute request to do mom's hair. We enjoyed a couple of restaurants in the area and everyone was very welcoming. The golf courses in the valley were lovely. We also enjoyed the float trip down the Snake River, the rodeo, fishing, and massages at the Rustic Inn. We've been using VRBO for several years, and this house is by far the nicest property we've ever stayed. It felt more like we were borrowing a home from friends than renting a vacation house. The owner responds quickly to questions. The spacious master suite had a sitting area and en suite bathroom with a soaking tub, two vanities, and large walk-in shower. My mom loved the comfortable king sized bed, and beautiful views from the large windows and well-lit sitting area. Upstairs, the two other bedrooms were spacious and very clean. We appreciated having suitcase trestles in every room. All the linens and towels provided were of a high quality. This kitchen had everything (and more!) we could have hoped for in terms of appliances and cooking equipment. We played plenty of games we brought with us at the ample kitchen table and we enjoyed some baseball in the large back yard. We enjoyed relaxing in the evenings in the extra large living room with its comfy sofa and chairs and the jumbo t.v. The neighborhood is peaceful with neighbors who greeted us as we walked. Our kids liked watching the planes land and takeoff from the regional airport nearby. This home provided a vacation we will remember for a long time. You can tell the owner loves the location and the property and wants to share it with others. Thank you for allowing us to occupy your beautiful home.

Lovely home with beautiful views
The house was very beautiful and comfortable. The backyard deck was enjoyed very much. Only suggestion is a fan for the upstairs bedrooms. Thank you, we had a wonderful time in Alpine.

We live in Alpine, Wyoming so we can water and snow ski, play golf and tennis, fly fish while floating down the Snake, Hoback and Grey rivers, hike and ride ATVs via national park mountain and forest trails. The Snake River canyon between Alpine and Jackson is breathtaking. Our picture was taken at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort where you can ride the tram to the top of the mountain and see for miles any time of the year.

Why they chose this property

This neighborhood has easy access to multiple national parks and forests, various wildlife museums and art studios, Yellowstone National Park and the Teton Mountain Range, varied outdoor activities and excellent dining. You also may wish to check out private flights to the airfield just 5 minutes away.

What makes this property unique

(A) Windows that face all four directions provide uncommon natural light to the home's interior. (B) A spacious master suite with plenty of comfortable seating for reading and relaxing and two uncommonly large guest bedrooms combine with the kitchen, dining and living areas to provide over 2,100 square feet of beautiful living space. (C) The open kitchen/dining area next to the large living room enables easy movement from one living area to another. (D) Two outside covered decks and a large backyard with spectacular mountain views provide outdoor refreshment and eating opportunities rain or shine, and the shine here far exceeds the rain. (E) Prepare your own meals in the fully-stocked kitchen or dine out at a variety of fine dining restaurants or pubs: Melvin's micro-brewery, Bull Moose Saloon & Restaurant, Yankee Doodle cafe, Driftwood pizza parlor, Subway, the local taco bus or the Flying Saddle Steakhouse, all within 10 minutes or less.
