Unique property close to alot of interesting attractions. Feels like camping in a remote cabin. Appreciated the hospitality of our host who addressed any issues we had.
The cabin is lovely. Great shared spaces, large windows with light, two decks. Having a washer dryer was a plus as well. Drew was super helpful and friendly. Would recommend!
This stay has waterfront access and you can canoe or kayak which is especially beautiful at sundown. The house is kept up nice and the decks are great for relaxing outside and enjoying the view. The location is close to all the most interesting places to see and good local restaurants. The host is super friendly, accommodating and easy to work with.
We enjoyed a several night stop at Drew's place in July. Drew is very friendly, helpful, responsive, and earnest. He shared fabulous recommendations for restaurants + activities.
The house is set in the woods, perched above a tidal inlet. Great decks and view for sipping coffee + cocktails. The owner lives immediately next door -- great for us -- but if you desire complete privacy, you may want to look elsewhere. There are a kayak + canoe for your use (steep-ish trail, so maybe not for you if you're not fit). And as you will see in the photos, the property (i.e. decks) should not be considered child safe. Leave your toddlers at home!
The beds + sofas + linens are brand new and very comfortable. As Drew himself is newer to renting out this property, he was interested in our ideas + feedback to improve the guest experience. We look forward to staying again in the future!
this house is so awesome - everything about it is wonderful: views from every location (woodsy wonderland to subtle serenity of tidal basin and birds), openness without vastness inside, multiple areas for relative privacy (but closeness for earshot connection without hollering) - even the windowSILLS were thoughtfully wide...
we thought we would come to Harpswell and hang out in the house a little, and go out for lobsters a lot, and we ended up in the house for a week with only one venture for takeout at Cook's, which was great, but not great enough to get us to leave the house again.
that's not true - we took the canoe to the tiny island just upstream from the Secret Beach (the path is real, not manicured), where there was a nook for pulling in and a tree made for climbing.
my small dog (Toy Poodle) had issues with the stairs (they're open to the space below), but by the fifth day was going up and down the first two levels like a champ, and Drew was awesome to hang out with, helpful, and super respectful... we didn't want to leave, and will absolutely be returning.

I liked the cabin. Oak post and beam construction, wood floors. On the side of a hill overlooking a small tidal bay. Nice wooded natural areas on both sides of the bay. 2 large decks to enjoy. A good location to take day trips to local attractions. A peaceful location away from traffic and hustle and bustle. The owner was friendly and helpful. He is very willing to address any concerns you may have. In the future, I would suggest the floors be sanded and refinished on the kitchen level and the walls freshly painted on all levels. Upstairs bedroom was quite hot the week we were there. The middle and lower floors had adequate air conditioning but the master bedroom did not. I used a fan to pull air into the bedroom which worked OK. The cabin could use a really robust cleaning. Then lower level furniture was inexpensive and uncomfortable. The location and natural outdoor environment did outweigh some of the negative. This rental has great potential with some TLC

I grabbed the rental Because it was waterfront with kayaks and a canoe. Mudfront is more accurate for all but high tide. There are boats….one canoe paddle was old and broken. There is no actual path to the waters edge. It is overgrown, steep and slippery. The Very nice caretaker had not ventured to the waterfront in the last year. —-The interior of the house was nice enough. The view is disappointing and the deck is dilapidated. If you have children, the deck railing does not meet the International Residential Code….it is dangerous.
We left a day early. It’s our 4th time to Harpswell and our only disappointment.
Had I understood the reality about the waterfront and the inaccessibility of the boats, I would have opted for the many nicer properties without the prime waterfront amenities I believed I paid for.
Loved the isolation of this place. Very comfortable cottage just as described. The owner lives next door and was very helpful but also respected our privacy. The stars at night were magnificence. Lots of cool things to explore on the islands. Had lobster every day.
This is a beautiful 3-story cabin/cottage/house high above a tidal creek, across from the Cliff Walk nature sanctuary. The owner lives in another home on the same property. It's beautiful, perfectly clean, all conveniences. And dog-friendly! The only drawback is the stairs between the 3 levels are 'open', impossible for our dog and challenging for an 86-year=old., so we mainly stayed on the main level (with kitchen, d.r., full bath and powder room, and main bedroom, so quite ok.) And the driveway is a little exciting - steep and with a dropoff on one side to be careful of! But we managed fine, and the owner was always accessible and very helpful. We didn't have a chance to use the canoe or kayak, because our schedule and the weather didn't give us a good high tide opportunity, but I know we would have loved that, too. I would happily come back here again.
Clean cabin with all of the amenities!
Drew ( caretaker) was helpful and kind
Great views!

Rustic….
The property upon entry felt a bit rough as the cabin needed some cleaning. But it wasn’t a huge deal and my family and I just took care of it as it was late and storming upon our arrival. The caretaker lives next door and is very nice and helpful. The layout of the cabin was nice with two teens and provided ample space, the decks were great and we enjoyed our morning coffee outside in nature. We enjoyed our family getaway and Drew the caretaker was very easy to work with and accommodating.

This is our sanctuary, adjacent to the town's sanctuary. I continue to design places, spaces, experiences and things with a creative live work studio where I spark inspiration for art, design and build prototypes. Sharing the experience is an extra treat.
What makes this property unique
Remote but centrally located to many "in town" and further remote destinations, tidal cove, birds, trails, fresh air, exceptionally good tap water.
