Nice quaint little cabin...fire pit was very nice to have... very close to popular fishing locations and boat ramps....Owner was very courteous and informative.....checked on us after a pretty bad storm, which was nice..... very much enjoyed our stay
We really loved this little cozy cabin. There was everything we needed to have a comfortable stay. It was clean and the host made sure we had everything we needed. Loved the front porch! Would stay here again!!!
Great place for a group of guy’s enjoying a weekend fishing trip.
Loved the property. Was everything we needed for our fishing weekend and the host was great even making sure we were ok when some hazardous weather came through while we were there.
We love staying on this property the cabin is great the location is fantastic for launching our boat wildlife walks through the yard its a awesome place. Thanks
Communication was extremely nice and they went out of their way to accommodate our children. The cabin is beautiful old style rustic look outside and very modern inside. Was beyond satisfied.
Nice remote little cabin for a quite getaway. Easy access to Cathedral Caverns, and a short trip to Huntsville to see the Space and Rocket Center and the botanical gardens. Cabin is a bit small, not a super tall guy about 6 ft but the ceilings are a bit lower. Great hosts that were very attentive during our entire stay, you can tell a lot of care has been put into this little cabin!
What a festive cozy cabin!! Itwas ez to find and decorated for christmas. Even presents under the tree for girls , so thoughtful!i Instructions for tv and gas heaters ez to decipher . Stash in kitchen unexpected and appreciated. Even laundry soap
Such an enjoyable stay.
This was our second stay at the cabin. The location was perfect for our trips to Lookout Mountain, Rainsville, Scottsboro, and Decatur. The host is wonderful and very responsive to any questions. The cabin is small but perfect for our group of 3. My daughter likes having her own space in the little bedroom off the kitchen. We recommend to get a burger at Pikeville Store and Grill in Scottsboro. The owners are just precious. We also loved Toki Sushi in Rainsville. Get the white fish tempura appetizer and the “pizza sandwich” sushi roll. It is amazing. We had fun shopping at thrift stores. We also visited Cloudland Canyon for a short hike to beautiful views. Thanks again for a clean, comfortable, safe place to stay. We can’t wait to go back!
It’s a beautiful little cabin nestled in the country of Jackson County very close to multiple boat ramps which we did bring the bass boat very easy to get to Goosepond waterfront Roseberry Creek many different boat launches I would definitely stay there again thank you very much for having us. We enjoyed it tremendously even seen some deer come out of the woods with a baby fawn. Thanks again
We loved the coziness of this cabin. The owner went above and beyond what is expected for a weekend rental. The kitchen was stocked with all basic cooking supplies, seasonings, paper towels, garbage bags, dish soap, etc. The large bathroom includes a washer and dryer. There were plenty of basic supplies, with all the cabinets labeled so there was no guessing what was there. Everything was extremely clean and convenient. The communication was excellent. There was a storm while we were there, and they checked on us to make sure we were ok. When we had a question about the heater, they came right away to show us what to do (nothing was wrong, we just didn’t know how to turn it off). We have rented several VRBO properties and this owner was by far the best we have encountered.
We were in town for a high school bass tournament at Goosepond Marina and the location was perfect.
We recommend Liberty for breakfast, and Pikeville Store and Grill for the best cheeseburgers you will ever eat.
The cabin has some quirks, like low ceilings, but we are all short so it wasn’t an issue for us. There are steps down to the bathroom level so if mobility is an issue for you, you might need to think about that. Again, for us, this wasn’t a problem. We loved our stay and hope to be back again soon!
Hello, My name is Billy Ray Hendricks. I was born and raised here in Scottsboro. My hobbies are fishing, hunting and hiking Walls of Jericho with my four legged friend Jake.
Why they chose this property
I think you will find my little cabin a home away from home. It was built in the late 1800's. You will be able to tell as soon as you drive up. The Cabin is sitting on 15 acres. You will be able to sit on the front porch and listen to natures sound. Depending on time of year, see some of natures wonders. (Deer or Turkey) So come, grab you a chair and relax.
What makes this property unique
As soon as you walk in you will also notice the squaring of the walls and door frames are not squared. That's what gives this cabin it's uniqueness. A dear sweet lady who lived there for 80 years told us she raised her 7 children, at the time, it was a 1 bedroom with a outhouse. She also told us a story of supposedly Billy the Kid hid out there before she and her family occupied the property. We have no documentation of this. The original well is still there and works. So come. relax and let your mind let your wondering how time was.
