Great location

We spent a couple days seeing the sites in Boston and this house was a great “home base” it was close to transit so we could easily get downtown and the property itself was clean and well appointed.

Charming family home

This is someone's immaculately kept family home. There are plenty of amenities including wifi, toys for young children, USB wall plugs, board games, a smart oven, dishes, lots of fridge space, plenty of towels and extra blankets, a dishwasher, washer and dryer, and both central and portable air conditioners. There are decorations and collections around the place that give you a sense of who lives here, which I found very cute! I am guessing there's a hidden library locked away on the 3rd floor. The neighborhood is somewhat quiet, very walkable and close to Whole Foods, public transit, bodegas, and many small shops and restaurants. Protip: Ethiopian Cafe is superior to Blue Nile! What this place does NOT have is a TV or a microwave. Bring your laptop or tablet and maybe you can connect to the projector in the living room. The oven is a perfectly okay way to heat leftovers, as long as you use glass, ceramic or fully-metal dishes. Or use a pan and the stovetop.

We had an excellent stay! The home is lovely, well-maintained, and very clean. The host was communicative & helpful. The home is in a charming neighborhood within easy walking distance of shops, eateries & the T. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you!

Many years ago, I had wonderful experience by hosting and staying in others' places on Couch Surfing. The idea of sharing the space and getting to know each other was deeply rooted in me. When I owned my place, it came naturally to me to open the door to other travelers just like how I had been welcomed in others' homes.
My husband, I and the kids travel a few times a year and would set up our home to travelers when we stayed in others' places. I want to make this experience as authentic home sharing as possible, so would often leave a lot of our daily items out for guests to get a taste of how we live our life.

Why they chose this property

Jamaica Plain is surrounded by many parks, attractions and landmarks. This neighborhood is very diverse and vibrant, full of events all year long. The commute to downtown Boston by all forms of transportation are easy and fast.

What makes this property unique

The is a real home, not a for-rent property. Guests would get a taste how we live our life and find themselves comfortable with many amenities and high-quality appliances.
