The property was very clean with a 20 minute drive to Zion Canyon National Park which we visited everyday. It is in a nice, quiet neighborhood. It has all of the amenities and the hosts left farm fresh eggs for us! The hot tub was very clean and relaxing. The hosts always answer any questions quickly.
Great base for visiting Zion and Bryce Canyon NPs. Having 4 separate bedrooms for our group was great - nobody sleeping on the couch. Downstairs bathroom could use a brighter light or a light over the mirror to keep everyone from crowding the upstairs one when getting ready in the morning. But that's really just a suggestion not a problem. Neighborhood was quiet and the house is close to gas/groceries and restaurants.
This great property is a former farmhouse that’s combines tasteful updates while maintaining its farmhouse charm. AC worked great and the full kitchen as well as laundry facilities were super convenient as we were finishing up a week long climbing trip with some touristing in Zion. The yard was immaculate in a cute neighborhood. Aaron was excellent in making sure we settled in ok and didn’t have any questions. We will be returning if we stay in La Verkin again in the future!
Bed smells of stale mothballs.. Floor has holes and ridges all over, not easy for anyone who has walking issues, or pets. Couldn't get heat/fireplace to work, and was not able to even turn on lights as switches are hidden (found on last day). It was COLD, everything smells (sofa, bed, rug etc etc) Lastly, the photos and website are misleading. The Vrbo 'Amenities' list shows 'pool', there is NO POOL.

Mark did not read our listing description which clearly states that our swim spa serves as both a very large hot tub or small plunge pool, and that we do not have a separate in-ground pool.
Likewise, that same description warns that this is an old farmhouse with original features and rough edges, that might not be ideal for elderly and infirm guests.
At any point he could have reached out for help on lighting the fireplace or finding the living room light switch, but did not.
The house has 6 separate mini split units and instructions for using them in our welcome messages. I would have been happy to help over the phone as well.
Our sofa cushions and linens were freshly washed. Dislikes of our choice of laundry detergent hardly seems justification for this review.
Quirky little house with an exceptionally well-appointed kitchen. Very clean. This cute house is right in between Zion and Snow Canyon, making it the perfect location for a couple of days of exploring the area. Our only complaint was the photography and descriptions, while being true, were also mis-leading. There is a second bathroom, but it is downstairs in the unfinished basement. The bathrooms are inconvenient for people staying in the little double beds in the attic. Many DIY elements could also be problematic for some travelers like the base of the fireplace is a tripping hazard and there is a wobbly banister rail, to name a few. If you like quirky and clean, though, you will have a nice stay!

Hi Jennifer, the captions of the photo in the second bathroom indicate that it is in the basement. I am not sure what else was misleading based on our photos; if you had communicated any of these issues during your stay we would have been happy to address them.

Not so modern farmhouse
The outdoors was pleasant and clean. Could not dine outside comfortably because it was too dark. The only light source was the dim lights around the tree and the exterior lights for the house. The general living area was pleasant. The main floor bathroom was pleasant but the bathroom tub in main floor would move every time in use. Downstairs bathroom was too creepy for all of us to use because it had a tub, toilet, washer and dryer and utility sink in the basement with door locking from outside up the stairs. In fact, the tub was the only thing that is modern in the house but none of us wanted to use it because it was in the basement that had a door that locks from outside only and it was kinda creepy. The switches for lights were placed in weird locations. The upstairs bedrooms were a converted attic with small access doors blocked by furniture…kinda creepy. My 6’3” son kept banging on the low ceiling. One of the beds had black hair on the sheets so we changed the sheets. The downstairs main bedroom had water spots left from previous use. The jacuzzi was nice but it smelled bad when use so we only used once. The cleaning was not to our standard and I thought it was ridiculous that owner expected us to wash the jacuzzi towels in the creepy basement. Isn’t that’s what I pay the cleaning fee to rent? The marketing for this house should not say modern since there are expectations from the use of the word that we’re not met. We left the house very clean but will not stay again.

The farmhouse dates back to 1924. It has fully modern amenities (AC and bathrooms) but we warn guests that it is still a pioneer-style farmhouse experience, not a luxury stay.
I’m sorry you didn’t like our basement bathroom, but it is fully functional and as advertised as being in the basement in the listing.
We absolutely do not expect guests to wash their own towels, I’m not sure where you found that information.
I will pass on your comments about the swim spa and other concerns to my co-hosts.
Old farmhouse so not glamorous, but worked perfect for us. The split system AC wouldn’t get as cool as we would have liked, but it did not get uncomfortable and worked better at night (it was VERY hot outside during the day at 100). Grill and croquet made for a nice evening. It was easy to get out to Zion and other hiking areas. We would come back!
Small on the outside. Big on the inside. Amazing how every inch of the house is utilized. Aaron and Jody were fantastic and kept communication lines open. One suggestion would be to enclose the yard in front of the house by driveway. Only blind spot when you have a pet and are playing with them in the yard. Great stay. Great little house.
