About this property

Near Town!

Located just outside of Fayetteville along Gatewood Road, the New York Central caboose is a completely renovated steel caboose. The train car has been thoughtfully converted to a tiny house and is located right next to Cantrell Rafting. The caboose has one bedroom with a full size bed, a loft area accessed by a ladder with a twin mattress and a futon in the living room. This cute rental is located next across the street from the Top of The Hill cabin, next door to the C&O Caboose at Cantrell Station, and next door to Cantrell Ultimate Rafting.

If you have a larger group and are interested in booking both cabooses contact us for a discounted rate.

The caboose is minutes from some of the areas best trails, Long Point, Endless Wall, Kaymore, Beauty Mountain, and the Arrowhead bike trails to name a few.

About the host

I grew up coming to Fayetteville and fell in love with the area. The views, the adventure, the adrenaline are second to none. I also grew up playing with Lionel trains and walking down to the train tracks and putting pennies on the rails. That combination led to a pair of Cabooses (or are the cabeese?) along Gatewood Road.

Why they chose this property

In 2013 we built a cabin across the road, and in 2017 we had the opportunity to buy the property across the street. We spent the next five years trying to think of something different for our guest. We stumbled across a pair of old railroad cabooses and renovated them.
