About this property

This wonderful 4 bedroom beachfront home sleeps 16 and offers amazing views from the lanai! The home is located in Playa Fortuna, Luquillo. A perfect getaway for the whole family. The villa is on a beautiful beach and is walking distance to the Rio Mar Beach Resort. Only 20-30 minutes to the famous El Yunque Rainforest! Also nearby is the Bio Luminescent Bay access, San Juan, Fajardo and the ferries to the outer islands of Vieques and Culebra! This home is island casual. It serves the purpose of being able to stay in a great location on an amazing beach and sleeping a lot of people! The home is not a modern home and is just set up as a casual beach bungalow with a lot of beds. There is a huge covered porch that offers inside/out living that is great for large groups. The large lawn is amazing for kids to run around.

Great location with some quirks to consider

This property is a hidden gem near the popular Luquillo beach, in a quiet neighborhood near the Rio Mameyes. While the listing described it accurately as a beach bungalow, it seems like the house is not maintained frequently between visits and needs updating in general. I'd suggest a more detailed listing to help reduce the amount of back and forth we had with the property manager before our stay about what was included in the home, how to park, etc. I'd also suggest that there be printed instructions or a home guide included with the rental because we had trouble figuring out simple things like the wifi, doors that wouldn't unlock, and why the refrigerator wasn't working at first and then why it would randomly turn off for 30 mins during the day. It should be noted that the windows in the entire home do not have screens. The breeze from the beach is lovely and the AC units in each bedroom are efficient but there are none in the kitchen/living room space. We paid for an early check-in but there was confusion with the cleaners who had not arrived to prep the house for us by the time we arrived. The neighbors helped us open the gate for us, contact the cleaners directly, and then we waited while they cleaned the house quickly, though not thoroughly. Having direct access to a quiet beach was fantastic for our family and there were plenty of bunk beds for kids. The kiosks were close for nearby food and there's a bar next door operating during the day for drinks and snacks.
