About this property

Magpie House-pet friendly close downtown & garland

Welcome to the Magpie House! Your family will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located home. 6 minutes from downtown, 15 minutes from Spokane International Airport, and just a block off the historic Monroe Street "Antique Row". Pets are welcome and guests have free parking and laundry facilities on site. Our house is newly-renovated and layered with whimsical features, artwork, and living spaces. We can't wait for you to enjoy our sunny retreat!

The Magpie is a 3bd-1ba 2- story home. Although she is over 100 years old, this gal has been newly renovated and is living her best life. For the art enthusiast, you will enjoy the local artists featured throughout the home including Julie Calabro, Megan Perkins, and the Magpie. Join us every 2nd Saturday for the "Meet on Monroe" Art Walk where you can view and purchase prints from local artists at multiple venues, eat and drink at various food trucks, and mingle with the neighbors and local business owners.

On the main floor, you will find 2 cozy bedrooms, the main bath, dining room, and chef's kitchen. Plenty of natural light will greet you in the morning so be sure to enjoy a cup of coffee on the porch. For the early risers who prefer their coffee to go, take a 5-minute walk with your pooch to Ladder Coffee one block from the house.

Upstairs you will find the master suite, with plenty of room to stretch out. The master includes an HD TV, reading nook, and window seat. The separate living space upstairs has been converted into a one-of-a-kind game room for kids and adults alike. For the gaming enthusiast, you will enjoy 412 classic arcade games on the gaming/cocktail table. For the truly old-school gamers, you can enjoy mini table shuffleboard and our 7' skeeball arcade game.

Our chef's kitchen features stainless steel appliances and copper cookware. Feel free to pick from the garden to add some color to your meal. Magpie's renovated full bath features antique pieces and a special nightlight for kiddos. Laundry access is in the basement and you are welcome to the cleaning supplies throughout your stay.

We are proud to offer 5G internet and free Netflix streaming on both TVs. Outside you will find 3 living spaces where you can sip on a glass of wine and play cornhole, enjoy the sunset on our swinging chairs, or play fetch in the fenced-in dog run. Our quiet neighborhood is dog-friendly and you will find that many of the restaurants and breweries are too. A short walk downtown will land you at Bellweather Brewery where you can fill up a growler or enjoy a pint with your pup. If you are bringing a pet, please include that with the guests that are coming so that the pet fee can be automatically added and we can make sure the pet bed/toys/bowls are out for their stately arrival.

Spokane has so much to offer. Families can enjoy dozens of amazing parks and 17 splash pads in the city. You are only a 10-minute drive to the convention center and you will find downtown to be very walkable. We love the history of the unique homes and buildings, Manito Park featuring Gaiser Conservatory and Duncan Gardens, Bowl and Pitcher Hiking (a 12-minute drive), and Centennial Trail (a 100-mile bike trail that crosses into Idaho). Although we have quite the music lineup, you will also find that the local music artists are fun and talented. We enjoy One-Tree Cider House and Brickwest for great food, brews, and live music. Brickwest also has a large lawn for children to play and dance throughout the week.

We can't wait for you to fall in love with the Magpie and Spokane the way we have. We are so glad you have chosen us for your trip.

We have streamlined your check-in process so it is easy for everyone. Before your stay, you will be messaged a front door code. At 3 pm this code will become active and will be reset at 11 am at your departure. You will have access to the entire house and yard spaces.

Because our home is in a neighborhood with long-time residents, we ask you to be respectful and kind to their space and privacy. For the consideration of other future guests, there is no smoking or vaping allowed anywhere on the property. We are proud to offer the 5-Step Enhanced Cleaning for our guests for free. We have no additional cleaning fees during your stay. Each pet is only $20 for their entire stay.

If you are bringing a pet, please include that with the guests that are coming so that the pet fee can be automatically added and we can make sure the pet bed/toys/bowls are out for their stately arrival.

Cool house in quiet, convenient location
We loved our stay here. Very comfortable. Cool old house with unique decor that emphasizes local sights of Spokane. We had fun with the games too. Easy parking. Quiet neighborhood, very convenient to get around everywhere we needed to go. Hosts were friendly and easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again. One thing some folks may need to know - the stairs to the 2nd floor (games and master bedroom) and the stairs to the basement (laundry) are the very steep, older style wooden steps that can be hard for some people to navigate if there are mobility issues.

Fun & Funky Bungalow in a Cool Neighborhood
This house had everything I needed to feel at home, work remote, and visit with nearby family. The house is more spacious than I realized from the photos. The game room upstairs is super fun for relaxing indoors on rainy days. The yard would be wonderful for pups (I didn't bring mine but love that they even include doggie bags!). Kitchen was well stocked for cooking in. Everything was VERY clean. I purchased a few more hangers for the closets since we had some formal wear that needed hanging :) Walking distance to a few shops, bars, and even a grocery store was really clutch! Nice quiet street that reminded me of my East coast home. THANK YOU!!! Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Spokane.

Lovely home & super clean
I stayed the weekend with my sister and my dog. The check in was so easy using the app option to unlock the door. We had fun exploring the house right away, and the arcade upstairs is just so cute. I really appreciated the dog bed, bowls and treats that were left out for the pup. My dog has a hard time relaxing in new places, but she settled in right away! We enjoyed having our coffee in the backyard each morning, and relaxing with Netflix in the living room at night. Also, the house is super clean, like not a speck of dust anywhere. The location is really great, especially for checking out various coffee shops, eateries, and antique stores. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend it to others!
