About this property
Artful Retreat - next to The Himalayan Institute
We have 3 years of nearly perfect guest reviews on AirBnB! Starting in 2023, we're also listing our home on VRBO. Our home was recently updated, including brand new mattresses and 400-thread-count sheets, this peaceful retreat sits on an expansive 1.3 acre lot, adjacent to The Himalayan Institute property, which offers yoga, seminars and massage, etc. Enjoy your morning coffee watching the sunrise from the deck and occasionally see deer roaming through the lovely back yard. This light, airy home is filled with whimsical touches and artwork throughout. We welcome people from all backgrounds and walks of life.
Enter through the front door, and immediately feel welcomed into our light, airy, serene home. Large windows create a bright living space and provide the feel of being connected to the outdoors. The living room includes ample, cozy seating and a pull-out queen sleeper sofa. We have a 54” TV with cable service and a designated work-space, with a desk. We offer FREE WIFI.
The Master bedroom has a king-sized bed with a vintage barn door, that we converted into a headboard. As you recline on the new 100% organic mattress (with luxurious mattress-topper), you’ll be looking at a photo of the sunset over the Gangha River in India. There is a lounge chair with a footstool and lamp for snuggling up with a good book. This bedroom also has a huge closet and an en-suite bathroom.
The second bedroom has 2 double beds. There is a wide 12-foot closet that provides plenty of space for extra luggage. There is a full bathroom across the hallway. We provide towels, pillows, blankets and 400-thread-count sheets for all beds.
The large kitchen is fully equipped with everything you may need for cooking meals. Windows overlook a beautiful wooded area. There is also a dishwasher and clothes washer/dryer for your use. We provide tea, Moka Origins coffee, and chocolate made right in Honesdale, PA for our guests.
The dining room offers space for 8 people to share meals together. There are ceiling fans in every room and baseboard heating as well as a gas burning stove which keeps this home very warm in winter. We have central HVAC for the warmer months and baseboard heating for the cooler months, to ensure you are cozy any time of year.
Parking spaces for two cars are provided in our driveway.

The Artful Retreat was an absolute gem!! It was so clean and comfortable and the perfect getaway for my best friend and myself as we helped cohost a retreat at the Himalayan Institute. We will absolutely be back!
We traveled to visit family in the area and are so happy we stayed at this property. It is just beautiful inside and inviting. The backyard is wonderful and we watched deer and lightning bugs which was so much fun.
The bedrooms were large and comfortable with enough room for whatever you may bring.
I cannot wait to stay again on my next trip.
So clean, so comfy, and so perfect! Great communication with host Pamela from the beginning to the end of our stay. We will definitely be back for our next yoga retreat at the Himalayan Institute.
The house was perfect for our family trip. It had everything we needed plus some extras we never even thought of. Soaps, spices and even snacks were so helpful! The living room was comfortable and inviting and the bedrooms were comfortable and had tons of closet space. We truly enjoyed our stay.
Beautiful and spotlessly clean, with a well-stocked kitchen, in a great location; we encountered one minor problem and the property manager was there immediately and fixed it. Beds were comfy, fair-trade chocolate and coffee are produced and sold next door, and a baby bunny was nibbling in the backyard when we arrived. We loved our week there!
My family of four stayed at Pamela's home for a long weekend. The home was amazing and Pamela was a fantastic host. The home was incredibly clean and spacious. It was the most well-stocked Vrbo we've ever stayed at - from luxury bedding and towels to snacks in the kitchen! Pamela was easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. We hope to return soon!
I realize that I used the property name in my title, but that was entirely on purpose. I could not think of another title that would describe it any more accurately than that. I’ve stayed at many rental properties, and this might just be my favorite. The attention to details to make the guests feel at home and special go over and above. From the fresh coffee beans and chocolates to the comfortable and eclectic furnishings, beds and linens. The grounds are parklike and serene. If you’re looking for good vibes, they’re all here.
