Located on the edge of Lansing, IA and just minutes away from the Mississippi river. Lodge sits behind scenic valley motel on main st.
Rustic and modern look featuring 3 levels with 1 bathroom in each level. Beautiful bluff views from windows in every floor.
Scenic Valley Lodge with new outdoor Hot Tub Jacuzzi is the perfect combination of rustic & modern featuring 3 levels and totaling 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms …. 1 bed/bath combo on each level of the home and totaling 7 beds. There is a guest bed and bath on main level, as well. The main floor residence boasts elegant charm and a lovely view of the bluffs. Lots of natural light flows through the windows on this level highlighting the hardwood floors and updated kitchen. The upper level suite provides a nice view toward the Mississippi River and a quiet retreat with bedroom and living areas and a full bath. The Lodge sits behind the Scenic Valley Motel off Hwy 9 a few miles west of Lansing. Sleeps up to 14
Outdoor hot tub available year round.

-propane for grill and firewood are not provided with this rental. Please bring your own firewood/buy it in local town. There will be a tank at property that can be filled in town as well.
-3 night minimum stay required for weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend.
-2 NIGHT MINIMUM STAY FOR WEEKENDS. -outdoor pool is only set up and available from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. May 23rd to Sep 2nd. It may be set up a week before and a week after that gap, weather and time permitting . If you want to find out If pool is up early for season or still up after season please message me first. The pool is not heated, but does have a solar cover on.

We were very happy with our accomodations at Lansing. There were 2 problems we had. The "centipedes" in the house but only on ground floor. And the TV's in both bedrooms on ground floor were not operable. We never did figure out how to get them to work. The grandkids all LOVED the pool & especially LOVED the hot tub.

There was plenty of room for all 14 of us. Everyone enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Enjoyed exploring the town and around the area. Would definitely stay again.

Rummage along the River Girls Trip

Perfect location right by the river, described exactly as it was, nice bedrooms plenty of space, the sectional was so comfy! The dining room table was nice and big for all of us. Enjoyed the hot tub! Would stay again!!!

Birthday getaway

The town was lovely we rode all up and down the Mississppi River. We saw some bald eagles during a hike through Mount Hosmer, then home for relaxation.

Perfect for a group

Three floors of spaced out bedrooms and huge kitchen/dining/livingroom space where all can gather. Great price for all of the room and location near the river and town for nightlife and grocery odds and ends. Will book again no doubt.

This property was ok. It served our purpose for 10 people, but could definitely use some TLC and attention to detail to make your stay a little more comfortable. We left a list of suggestions and its up to them to act on them if they want.

If we could have found another place to stay for our entire family after the first night we would have. Please look at pictures for the issues we had. Broken items, dirty looking sheets, too HOT to sleep, rooms not as on listing, LOTS of millipedes on the floors, also on walls, and in some beds. The microwave above the stoe doesn't work so you have to use the one on an end table beside the sofa bed in the dining area. They say it sleeps 16 but there were only 11 forks. Water/ice on refrigerator door doesn't work. We also rented the cabin right beside the house. It had lots of millipeds in it, had a plastic bag with dog poop in the bathroom trash can when we checked in, lots of active wasp nests around the outside that need to be taken care of. Pretty sure there is a bee hive under the cabin as there were many that were going into a hole to the left of the door. Unfortunately it's not letting me upload the video of the floor in the basement bathroom, disgusting.

We had a great time here for our family trip of 12 people. The house could use some updates but is decorated nicely and very spacious. The carpets were very dinghy and overall the house could use a good cleaning. Being from a big city it was a little unsettling when we showed up and all the doors were unlocked but we did feel safe the rest of the trip. The pool and hot tub were wonderful and the outdoor area worked nicely for our family Olympics. Our biggest concern was the bugs in the house. There were lots of millipedes in the basement bedrooms, bees nests under the deck, and we killed a couple cockroaches in the kitchen which might be because there was a lot of leftover food left in cabinets and fridge. Overall we really enjoyed our time as a family but would not stay again without some changes. The area was really nice next to the river and cute downtown area.
