Relax Amidst Nature On Clear Creek

Clear Creek Cabin is located in the scenic Driftless Area of Northeast Iowa.

As you walk out the doors of the secluded cabin you will find a spring-fed, one acre pond. Complete with bluegill, bass and catfish. There is also 70 feet of white sand beach. Hike 100 yards and you will find 3.2 miles of the Clear Creek trout stream. If you enjoy hiking or hunting, the cabin is adjacent to 800 acres of public hunting land.

For cyclists, The Mississippi River Trail is nearby. More fishing is also located in the Upper Iowa and Mississippi Rivers. And there are many area golf courses and snowmobile trails. Scenic beauty abounds!

And that is just the outdoors.

Clear Creek Cabin boasts 2,700 sq ft of cozy hardwood excellence. The rustic good looks of the original cabin that was built in 1873 (with another log frame addition in 1885 and a modern addition in 2000) is combined with all the modern amenities you would want.

Start your relaxing stay with a full, restful night of sleep in one of the 5 bedrooms. Choose from a king pillow top, queen, full or one of four twin XL beds or twin bunk bed. There are two plush-top futons. One in the balcony/den and another in an upstairs bedroom. There is even a crib for your infant.

A modern heat and air conditioning system will keep you at the right temperature as you wake up. Next you may find a hot shower or a soak in the tub is in order. Choose from one of the three full baths; one with a shower, one with a shower/tub and another with a shower/tub. Don't forget to drop your bath towel in the towel warmer so it is ready when you get out!

The smell of a hot cup of coffee or tea (or maybe even a "lumberjack" breakfast) are easily in the realm of possibilities for the full kitchen. It has all of the large and small appliances you will need during your stay. There is a full set or dishes and utensils and even a charcoal grill on the flagstone patio outside the back door.

Enjoy your meals on the porch or at the picnic table overlooking the pond or in the large dining room. With seating for 10 at the reclaimed lumber (that my Great-Grandfather milled many years ago) dining room table, there is sure to be ample space for all.

Relax in the living room with reclining seating for 10 guests. This room has a 55 inch SMART TV to connection to all your favorites on Netflix, Amazon, Disney or YouTube. You may also enjoy complimentary high speed, fiber optic Wi-Fi for your mobile devices and Wi-Fi enabled phone calls. Or you could follow the kids upstairs to play with the various toys including the 3 foot tall doll house.

What a wonderful place. Beautiful, quiet, well maintained. The cabin was clean and welcoming. The host also goes above and beyond, mowing hiking trails around the cabin, leaving notes of what to do around. The pond was crystal clean. The little touches like hammocks, picnic benches and a fire pit are the icing on the cake with this stay!There were clear instructions on what to do for check in and check out. Though we were only 5 that stayed, a much larger family(ies) would have so much room here to hang out.

It was a fun family getaway with 2 grandparents, 2 children and spouses and 4 grandkids. The kids were in the pond swimming and kayaking most of the day. We adults swam and kayaked too. We also spent a lot of time relaxing on the lawn. The house was lovely. Everyone could have their own space and there were plenty of bathrooms for all. It was a great trip!

Family retreat

From booking through the end of the trip, we had great communication with our host. The kids enjoyed the water, whether swimming, fishing, or kayaking. The adults relaxed and took advantage of the nearby trails.

Excellent getaway!

This place was so clean and full of entertainment! We spent hours fishing and playing in the water on the beach with kayaks and other floats we brought. Lots of space for a large group. Quiet and secluded area. I would recommend this place to everyone!

Serenity

The log cabin and number of beds are attractive. The serene nature of the pond with a sugar sand beach is the greatest attraction. Swimming, paddle boat, fishing are all part of the great experience.

Hill Family First Vacation

Upon arrival at Clear Creek Cabin, we all agreed the property looked beautiful. It turned out to not only be beautiful, but also a peaceful place to get away. From coffee early mornings on the front porch watching the wild life, the kids fishing in the pond, everyone enjoying rides on the paddle boat and the night time camp fires. This was truly a relaxing week-end. We have to thank the owners for sharing !

3rd Visit to Clear Creek

This was our third stay at Clear Creek Cabin, and everything was great! This place provides lots of privacy, and is very scenic. We love the spring-fed pond, and the sandy beach is perfect for little kids of all ages. The pond is also great for paddle boarding and for teaching kids how to fish! Our family uses the large dining room and living room throughout the day, and we also grill or cook all our meals while we are there. A well-stocked kitchen provides all the dishes, glasses and cooking utensils that you would need. Ryan, our host, is always very responsive, and knowledgeable. Everyone enjoyed our time at Clear Creek, and we would not hesitate to come back again for another stay!

Great Easter Getaway

We enjoyed our time at Clear Creek Cabin. Seeing the architectural changes with each addition to the cabin over the years was really interesting. It is a beautiful area and I'm guessing it's amazing in the fall with the leaves changing colors. We were able to enjoy the paddle boat, get out on hikes, and just enjoy the weather while sitting in the rocking chairs (Adirondack) on the porch. Thankfully they have Internet in the cabin because there was almost no signal for phones in the valley (on Verizon or T-Mobile). We didn't use the internet much because we were there to unwind...but it's there so if you need to contact someone in case of emergency you should be good. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Family Cabin Weekend

We had a very nice time at Clear Creek Cabin. It’s very secluded and the surrounding area is beautiful. Everyone enjoyed their time there and the weather couldn’t have been nicer. The pond and its sandy beach were great for our toddler grandchildren to play in and the kayaks were used by several people all weekend. Fishing for bluegill and bass was also a fun activity. The large Dining room allowed us all to enjoy each other’s company at every meal and the large Living room was perfect for morning and evening get-togethers. The fifth bedroom is more of a spacious loft as it has no door separating the room from the Living room below. We also found the refrigerator was too small for a group of 11 people, so be sure to bring plenty of coolers and ice! As I first stated, we really enjoyed our time there and we would most likely be inclined to come back for another stay.

a bit bummed!

This was a beautiful setting in the woods - quiet and serene, just what our group was looking for. Some disappointments: -the pond was all weedy and we were unable to fish or swim other than the small area roped off. -there was no hot water in the upstairs shower -the water faucet was broke and no hot water in the downstairs bathroom -the beds were incredibly uncomfortable with the exception of the one in the master and one upstairs. Some guests actually slept on the floor as it was more comfortable -the check-out procedure was very strict and we were not given our deposit back due to "not following check-out procedures" and it taking too long to clean. The owner went on to say that their regular cleaners were not available so he and his wife had to do the cleaning - maybe that's why it took longer to clean? -there were little to no toys and no 3 ft doll house that was stated in the description to be available. -although a beautiful setting and our family enjoyed ourselves, we found the property to be too expensive, not as advertised and property owners negligent in returning our deposit.

My family absolutely loved our time at the cabin! Cabin and property were fantastic! We will be returning. Something to do for everyone. Pond was great. Fishing was great. Evening and morning, deer in sight, it was great. Table big enough for all 8 of us- games in the evening were great. What else can I say...it was GREAT! Property owner, Ryan, was easy to deal with and made our time at the cabin worry free.

Perfect Christmas Cabin

My wife and I married in 2002 and now have three children. We purchased this cabin in 2015. We have found that the cabin has been a wonderful place for us to slow the pace of life down and reconnect with each other and spend quality time with the kids.

Why they chose this property

Clear Creek Cabin adjoins our family farm. We enjoy all the cabin has to offer as much as we can, but our work and children's activities don't allow us to be there as much as we would like to stay. This is great for you! We decided to share the relaxing cabin with its rustic good looks and the natural splendor of the Driftless Area with you .

What makes this property unique

We think you will fall in love with the authentic hand built log cabin with its stone walk and porch overlooking the pond (REDONE IN 2017 TO A FULL 9 FEET OF DEPTH) just as we have fallen in love with it. It is hard to explain the feeling you get by being in this place. But, whether you are looking to relax, have fun or enjoy nature you will find it here.
