This amazing lodge is exactly what you need for an unplugged getaway from your busy fast-paced lives. This acreage is right off a hard surface road outside Dorchester IA. Thousands of acres of public ground within minutes for hiking, hunting, and fishing. Upper Iowa River down the road for trout fishing, kayaking and tubing. Mighty Mississippi less than 30 minutes away. Nothing says kick back and relax like a wrap around deck, wood burning stove, fire pit, grilling, and the famous NE IA bluffs!

Pool available from 1st weekend in June to 1st weekend in September. We try to have pools open sooner and keep open longer but each year is different.
2 night minimum for all weekends if your stay includes Friday or Saturday.

Fun Getaway

We loved staying here! It was very roomy and clean. We did a lot of driving though as the property was about 30 minutes from Decorah. Definitely would stay here again!

Beautiful Home

This was a beautiful home that slept 8 comfortably. Pool and hot tub were awesome. It is on a busy highway outside of any close towns but this is what we were looking for so it was excellent for our purposes.

Perfect multi-gen family getaway!

We had 3 families, ages 5-70. This was a perfect house to accommodate all of us. The kids loved the pool (which had been upgraded in size and with a deck/privacy fence since the last time we stayed). The house was well furnished for cooking as well as with outdoor furniture, bags game, fire pit and pool toys. The Decorah area offered plenty for us to do. The only downfalls were the distance to town and the property is on a fairly busy road which is a bit noisy. Otherwise, this was a very comfortable and fun place to stay.

Poor communication and inflexible

The host was unavailable for communication via emails through Vrbo until I filed a claim through Vrbo on him. Also Chris was inflexible when trying to cancel my reservation due to an issue that was out of my control. So, I found a way to honor the reservation due to not wanting to be out the entire amount of the reservation. The location was very modern and up to date aesthetically but was lacking in kitchen supplies for cooking and cleaning up. A lot of cupboard space that was empty and we ended up purchasing pans needed for our dinner plans. I can not recommend using this host for reservations near Decorah.

Was contacted and was asked to cancel her reservation. I advised her that if she wanted to cancel she needed to do it on her end as hosts get penalized. She did not cancel for almost 20 days and then a week prior to check in she contacted me and wanted to cancel again. I would not allow the cancellation at that point. As for the kitchen there is a brand new complete set of ninja pots and pans. Which are top of the line. The kitchen is fully stocked.
