We had a lovely stay at Camelia Cottage, with 5 of us staying for the weekend. Perfect location for exploring the Blue Mountains (we had a car) and Wentworth Falls centre is in walking distance (20-25mins).
Bathroom facilities, garden and complementary basket of goodies were great and Julie was a very helpful host. Would stay here again if back in the area.
Absolutely beautiful location in the mountains and spotless cabin. Secluded area, plenty of space for our dogs to explore. The town is quaint and homey, everyone was extremely kind. Randy & Kim are amazingly gracious hosts. They even provided some food items for our use. Next time we visit NC, I hope we can stay again. The best part of our trip was being greeted by the magnificent Mr. Jingles every morning. He is the sweetest old kitty. We miss him the most! Thank you both, this is a honeymoon we will remember fondly.
Absolutely gorgeous, quite, private, and immaculate! Wonderful hosts, even left us a cake for our anniversary! Fully stocked with everything you'd need! Lots of goats, donkeys, ducks to visit! And only 15 minutes from the adorable town of Mayberry!
As usual Holly Hill Cabin did not disappoint! Spotless, well-stocked (complete with a birthday cake from owner Kim and Randy), beautiful grounds and landscaping, adorable donkeys, goats, ducks and very entertaining Guinea hens. Enjoyed hiking at Stone Mountain State Park and Pilot Mountain and shopping and strolling around Mt. Airy. I highly recommend a stay at Holly Hill, and if you need an additional bedroom and bath, they have another beautiful unit available on the property. Already making plans for our next visit!
It was amazing and was even better in person. Attention to every detail! Nature lovers dream. Cozy and relaxing. Mr Jingles was the perfect host! Will be revisiting for sure.
Absolutely amazing stay. We celebrated my wife’s birthday and I can’t say enough about the hosts and the cabin. We loved everything about it and the hosts were amazing. We will definitely be returning and looking forward to seeing Mr Jingles again
Property was just as described, beautiful and relaxing, the host were wonderful, the location was perfect only a few miles from Mt. Airy. Farm animals was so cute and the biggest surprise was Mr. Jingles the cabin cat who was so cut and adorable, welcoming us each time we came back. Will definitely return again. Rusty and Sharon
Nicest couple ever! Had OJ, milk, cinnamon bread and Reese’s peanut butter cups in kitchen upon arrival. Had wonderful animals like goats, guineas, a cat named Mr. Pringles, ducks, and a rabbit. Beautiful country setting. Not in city but only about 8 minutes to Mount Airy. The cabin was beautifully decorated inside and out. Also, very clean! We will be back!
Wonderful hosts, clean and fully functional cabin perfect for 2. The animals were an added delight. Clean air and rural setting made for great nights’ sleep. Close proximity to the classic Mt. Airy tourist attractions.
Randy and Kim are wonderful! The cabin was clean and so homey and comfortable. Walking the property and seeing the animals and all of the art work is amazing. Will rent again!
My wife and I spent 3 nights for her birthday and loved it! She loved the white lights on the porch and sitting on the swing in the evening. We both enjoyed meeting the animals around the property. The cabin itself was so cozy and the bed so comfortable! It is conveniently located to historic Mount Airy and other places. We would definitely recommend!
Booked this for my parents as a get-a-way present for Christmas and they had the best time. They loved all the complementary food & how much privacy they had. The perfect get a way house for you and your spouse. Plenty of things to go and do as well.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay; the cabin was perfect for us, traveling with our dog. The cabin is spotless, as pictured in the VRBO listing, and the furnishings are comfortable and well-supplied. Our host supplied yummy raisin bread, milk, OJ, and a candy treat - a special touch we typically do not experience renting a VRBO. We decided to make a quick trip to the grocery store to buy some breakfast items after seeing we were adequately supplied with pans/utensils, which was a good call on our part so we could relax and enjoy breakfast at the cabin. A cute little cat named Mr Jingles likes to visit the front porch and is very meek/laid-back. We weren't sure how that would turn out with our dog, but it was pleasantly surprising, as they were friends, and no "hair-raising" incidents occurred. Mt Airy is approximately 6 miles away, easy to locate, and full of fun. A great recommendation by the host for a restaurant was 13 Bones - great food & service. We ventured out on our own for a ground steak sandwich at the Dairy Center, Thai food at Thai Cafe, and Angry Troll Brewing for bar food. Every restaurant was good! Be sure to stroll downtown & the Mayberry set. There is a store called the Sock Factory - good deal on socks! We never made it to the wineries because we were so relaxed hanging at the cabin, surrounded by their beautiful farm. We highly recommend this cabin to all of those seeking a low-key restful stay!
We absolutely loved our stay here! The host left us bread, candy, milk, and orange juice when we checked in and made sure we knew to contact him if we needed anything. The property was beautiful and relaxing and we really enjoyed watching the farm animals in the morning. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend it!
What a beautiful and cozy cabin located close to Mayberry. This is the place to stay with all the comforts of home! We would definitely stay here again when we come back to the area.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a charming cabin in Mount Airy for two nights, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The cabin was spotless and thoughtfully furnished, combining rustic charm with modern comforts. The location was absolutely perfect – tucked away in a serene wooded area yet close enough to explore Mount Airy’s quaint shops and attractions. Waking up to the sound of birds chirping and enjoying coffee on the porch with stunning views was a highlight of the trip. The amenities exceeded expectations, with a cozy fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, and even a hot tub to unwind after a day of exploring. The host was incredibly kind and responsive, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.Whether you’re looking for a peaceful retreat or a base for adventure, this cabin is a gem. We’re already planning our next visit!

About the host
Hosted by Randy Hicks
Randy and Kim Hicks built the cabin in 2006. We have put a lot of love and hard work in the cabin to make it extremely nice, landscaped, and very clean.
Why they chose this property
It was our dream to have a log cabin so we built it on our farm. We have a lot of people coming through to visit Mount Airy or Mayberry. We have enjoyed meeting the people that have stayed. It has been a blessing to us and the people that have stayed.
What makes this property unique
This cabin is very peaceful. The animals provide a great atmosphere. You are out of town, but so close to restaurants and shopping areas. You are only about 10 miles from Pilot Mountain State Park.
