LOCATION
Sky Hawk is just off US 65 on the north side of the Buffalo River. Restaurants, canoe rentals and river access points at Grinders Ferry, Gilbert and Tyler Bend are less than ten minutes away, but at Sky Hawk you’re secluded and surrounded by natural beauty -- away from it all.
The entrance is on the Gilbert Road (Hwy. 333), just 0.4 mile east of US 65. The cabin is about a half mile from the entry. Sited at the top of a ridge and flanked by a line of stately, old oaks, the house affords sweeping views up the Buffalo River Valley. The property has 3/4 mile of park frontage, and the Buffalo River Trail is just steps from the property corner. The park trail leads about a mile down to a long, wide gravel bar at Shine Eye Bluff -- the perfect spot to picnic, swim, fish or enjoy a lazy afternoon. (Shine Eye is also accessible by road, a five minute drive.)

We had a great spring break getaway at Sky Hawk Ridge. The house was clean, comfortable, well-stocked, and dog friendly. It is in a great location for hiking and floating along the Buffalo River. We enjoyed the views, fire pit, and hiking trails on the property. We drove in to Marshall one night and saw a movie at the Kenda Drive-In. It was so fun for our kids. Ron and Donna were great hosts and were available for any questions. We plan on staying again!
This is a modern, relaxing cabin with a beautiful view of the surrounding hills. It has convenient access to the middle stretch of the Buffalo River and canoe outfitters.
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the Buffalo River and our stay in SkyHawk Ridge!! Our cabin was beautiful and well stocked. Our hosts were very thoughtful! We are thankful to have been able to vacation with our fur babies. Definitely hoping to return soon!
Came for a float on the Buffalo and ended up enjoying the cabin the most! Enjoyed the firepit and watching two meteor showers in a row! The cabin was spotless, well appointed and comfortable! We will be back!
We rented this cabin for our Buffalo float trip and it was absolutely amazing!! Beautiful place, super clean and accommodating! Location is perfect!! Definitely will be back!!!
This was our 2nd stay at Sky Hawk. We love the relaxing and gorgeous atmosphere. Took a walk on the trail on the property and it was so serene and quiet. The house is super cute, brand new with everything you need to lounge, make dinners or drink wine while looking at the pretty trees. Only thing needed to make it an ultimate reading/ lounging spot would be a couch or porch swing on the back patio. Firewood provided! Owners very responsive if anything needed. Go eat at Springhouse!
Our stay at Sky Hawk Ridge was exactly what we were looking for! The cabin had everything we needed and the property was beautiful and a hop, skip, and a jump from several great swimming holes on the Buffalo. We will definitely be back!
My family and I had an awesome 3 night stay at sky hawk, along with our 2 small dogs. The layout was perfect, open, and had everything we needed. The decor was beautiful and all the small details were incredible. The bathrooms were very clean & classy. We especially loved all the board games available and sitting on the porch enjoying the views. The experience was even better than anticipated and we will definitely be visiting again.
We stayed for four nights in October and had a fantastic time. This is the cleanest and most well stocked house we have ever stayed at. Check in and communication was great - plenty of space for our family of 4. Spent several evenings on the porch watching the sunset and wildlife.
Very nice and peaceful place.
The view off the back deck is amazing. We enjoyed drinking our morning coffee and watching sunsets out there. We will defiantly be back.
Comfortable cabin, tastefully decorated and well stocked. We brought our own food and had all we needed without having to leave the property. Our dogs loved the long walks on the trails.
What a stunning property! The cabin was clean and well appointed, and every little detail was perfect. Breathtaking patio views of the river valley and Boston mountains. Just 4 or 5 cabins sharing hundreds of acres of natural splendor, complete with miles of private trails. It’s like you have your own nature preserve. Easy (5 mins) access to the national park. Caretakers live nearby and made sure we had everything we needed. Horseshoes and well stocked fire pit were nice touches. Our family had a wonderful time and we will definitely be back!
The privacy and the views were amazing. The tranquility of the entire area was incredible. We loved the feel of the cabin because it made you feel at home immediately. The close proximity to many adventures was another reason for selecting this place. We loved it and hope to return again.
We stayed the weekend with my sister-in-law and her fiancé, to spend time with her and the rest of my wife’s family. What a great property to meet and spend time together! The house is light and airy and the high ceiling make the place feel huge! We love the double sliding glass doors with access to the covered deck, which was great to have when it did rain
