This is a great vacation house! We spent a month here and enjoyed every moment. We loved the traditional Costa Rica vibe. The photos do not do the property justice! The yard is beautiful with lots of tropical trees, and wildlife. The neighbourhood is nice and quiet with a few amenities close by and both Langosta and Tamarindo Beach are within easy walking distance. We found it to be great value!!
House is a great size and the pool is awesome. Super clean and air conditioning worked well. Landscaper was by every day to sweep up and clean the leaves from the pool. 5-minute walk to the beach as well as a couple of restaurant/bars right in Playa Langosta. Walk to Tamarindo in 15 minutes or a 6 Uber. Highly recommend!

the kitchen was not equipped for eight people. Had to call property manager for more dishes. the wine fridge didn't work. cupboard handle was falling off. air conditioner in bedroom didn't work on day two. No water due to faulty pressure tank on third day resulting in us giving up two days of our holiday waiting for workmen coming to resolve these matters. kitchen doors didn't latch. there were slide bolts to close them which left the people in the guest house having to walk all around the house for entry there were large spaces between the doors which allowed passage of insects and the guest house had many insects residing in it. the shower in the master bedroom was backed up and we stood in at least three inches of water to have our showers. this could be a fabulous rental if it wasn't so tired and poorly maintained. it would have been helpful to have had a binder listing all the details of the house and perhaps some pamphlets and a bus schedule

I think these people were not really suited for renting a house in Costa Rica. They needed a concierge desk as we don't offer that, as no house does. I think it's a bit much to find 10/10 reviews from certain recent guests and then this type of review from the really needy. I love this house and am happy the way it is. It's perfect. The issue is that if you are a needy group and need everything catered, a house rental would not be for you. The house was remodeled a couple of years ago and it's already slightly aged with a few cupboard handles loose and other minor things that normally wear. This is the result of renters unfortunatley. But that said, it's still a great house and it's a 10/10 review from others.
Excellent stay. What a beautiful home. Yes there is some wear and tear as with any home, but, everything worked and was clean. Did I mention location?? 1 block to the beach, a supermarket and restaurants/bars within walking distance. We loved it.
Very nice place, clean and comfortable. Not a big deal, but be aware that water availability in that area might be very restricted during the dry season; we were asked to be very careful with water usage, which we were, and we had no problems with 7 people for 5 days. Also worth noting that the casita is good for one person, but has no door to the bathroom (just a curtain), so not ideal for a couple. Otherwise, everything was great. Clean place, everything we needed, good communication.
Walking distance to the beach, nice pool to chill in, nice seating area in the back to have dinners outside, big enough place to suit 5 of us. Place is a little tired from renting out with lights not always working in the master bedroom bathroom and some damage to the kitchen cabinets and countertops. But it was clean and comfortable for all of us. The fridge was a good size too.

Please note that the kitchen cabinets, countertops, appliances, and flooring throughout the house is all new. If there are problems with any lights or air conditioners, the property manager can have them fixed by the next day. So most complaints I've received by prior renters have been about the kitchen cabinets and appliances, and all have been torn out and fixed/replaced.
We had a great time at Casa Oasis in Playa Langosta. The house was clean and comfortable, an easy walk to the beach and a quick drive to town. Finding the place was a bit of a challenge, but that is no fault of the owner. He provided us with good directions and Google Maps is accurate. All issues were resolved quickly. Prince, the cat, is charming.
Epic Location, Great Communication, Cool Property!
Thid property is a steal of a deal for the area. Great beds and bedrooms, a cool pool and deck, very secure and safe and great communcation from the host. I would say it is nicer than the photos communicate. That being said, it could use some TLC in little areas....loose cupboard handles, frayed light fixtures, and a lot of the dishes/silverware didnt seem extremely clean. The bathrooms were adequate of course but the showers were very covered in limescale (though they still worked fine). Just something to be aware of if you are expecting 5 stars. That being said...we weren't home much and it was still a great fit and value for us!

The only issue I have with this review is that the house is rented at a nice price because it's cozy. I love it as is. We did renovate probably 80% of the house putting in 80K in 2023. That said, it's a perfect place to stay but it's not meant to be a modern marvel and in perfect brand new condition. Renters looking to nitpick certain things that are not really relevant should not rent this house. It's meant for an old school Costa Rica vibe in which it's far beyond simple or not maintained. I think the renters who go into a place and want to nitpick are not good for most places in the country, but I'd discourage staying in this property in that case. We offer a very comfortable home and nice layout that should meet expectations of most renters. I've had friends stay in the house before the renovations that have said do not change a thing and to keep it as is.

Great house in an awesome location
Casa Oasis is a perfect place to get away. We rented the house with another couple (4 adults in total) and had plenty of room to lounge around, have fun, and have your own space. The master bedroom is great with a terrific changing/closet area. The pool is perfect when you don't feel like making the 5 minute walk to the beach and Ronnie the pool guys is SO sweet! Maria, the property manager is very helpful and attentive. One of the other people we were traveling with had their bags lost at the airport and Maria jumped right on the phone to assure that they would get to her. A few hours later and the bags were at our front door! The locations of the house is ideal, very close to Playa Langosta, which is lovely and less crowded then Tamarindo. However, if you are seeking some night life, restaurants, bars, shopping etc. Tamarindo is a short walking distance and quick bike ride. Overall, we had a terrific time at Casa Oasis, we will definitely be back soon!
P.S. Prince the cat is a pretty funny little guy. He brought crabs to the front door every morning and sun bathed all afternoon. We are generally not 'cat people' but he was a really sweet guy.

The property needs a LOT of TLC. Compared to adjacent properties it is quite run-down considering that the rental price is comparable. We were there for 3 weeks and were without Wifi for about half of that time which made it very difficult to plan excursions, keep in touch, etc. The property description was inaccurate. It is actually not as close to the beach as the photos make it seem. Not too far (5 to 10 minutes) but our expectations were different than the reality. Cleanliness was not great. We had cockroaches in the kitchen drawers. As other reviews have said, the inside space is quite dark. More lighting is needed. Thankfully air conditioning worked great. We made it work for us but for the price I know we could have stayed in better accommodations.

I understand that this group was not pleased with everything regarding their stay. I try to accommodate everyone but when comparing this review to all my others, it's just not accurate in my opinion. The group was fixated on the back shed that houses the washer and dryer and is not a living space, but it's understood that it needs an upgrade. The house has a satellite view on vrbo that shows exactly where it's located with respect to the beach. The beach pictures were not taken from the house as I believe most renters can figure this out. And regarding the WiFi, I had problems with a company as do all property owners in the area. We were forced to switch companies it got so bad - but it's resolved. And finally, the roach problem was from so many back to back renters. Tough to spray for them when someone is coming the day renters are departing. I believe we've improved that though as I instructed my property manager to keep track of roaches as they are an issue in all houses in the area.
So in summary, the house has been described as highly rated by many other renters. It's NOT meant to be a high priced resort that is impeccably pristine, as for me, it's the perfect house near the beach on a dirt road that I look forward to using a few times per year. It's been described as very clean by other renters. It's for the large, laid back family that is looking for a peaceful getaway. All problems are addressed by property management. Just disappointed that these people were so nit picky as that's not what Costa Rica is all about.
The property is very, very nice. The only problem is that it is just a little worn and could use some love. The hot tub doesn't actually get hot, the main chair in the living room could use replacing and one of the cabinet shelves kept falling off. However, this is merely nitpicking on a wonderful, large and inexpensive property at which to stay. The house is huge, the rooms are nice (especially the master bedroom and bath) and the air conditioners work very well. Also, when we had problems, the caretaker came over and took care of things right away. Overall, I would definitely recommend it.
Some of us liked the house more than others. I personally loved the front and back patios, the beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was good.
When we arrived the pool was not working but it was fixed quickly and was maintained daily along with the outside patio being swept etc.
We all felt the house needs more light. It was very dark inside and there was not adequate lamps. It would be very helpful if there were some written directions for where to find what light switch and how to operate the oven ( a complete mystery) and for those of us not familiar with the air conditioners , a brief note on how they are operated. More ice trays would be wonderful as well. The neighborhood was quiet and we loved the cat!
We found the beach at the Playa Logosta Beach Club the best. This is a perfect house for a laid back family and kids would love the pool.

Great family home
The home was great. It was spacious, clean and comfortable. The location was within walking distances to stores and activities, and best of all the country was amazing!
We rode horses, surfed every day, shopped explored and ate. It was our best family vacation ever.

Great location, well stocked, nice design, great amount of space
This house is perfectly located near beautiful Playa Langosta away from the hectic feel of Tamarindo, yet close enough to enjoy the city if you choose. 8 of us stayed at the property in perfect comfort. The kitchen is well stocked, the bbq is great, the pool is a perfect way to cool off, and the lovely trees all over the yard make it a tropical paradise. There are two large sitting areas to enjoy outdoor meals. Prince, the cat, is a gem. We had a few logistical/maintenance issues including a major light fixture burned out, a washing machine that doesn't really work (but we weren't told this), a blocked shower drain, and too early cleaning service on the day we were leaving. As soon as we reported the maintenance issues, they were fixed immediately except the washing machine, but we managed. If you go, know that the ice maker does not work, so buy bags of ice and we added 2 ice cube trays to the property for future renters. Also set your expectations that the hot tub is not hot - it's just a nice way to soak in the warm nights or have some jets on your back. Personally, our family and guests found the main room very dark, so hanging out there at night was hard, but we spent most of the time outside and one could read in some of the bedrooms. Enjoy this property, it is really a great vacation house.

We had an amazing stay at Case Oasis!
We came to Costa Rica for our son's wedding and wanted a villa close to his location in Playa Langosta. We're so glad we rented this villa. It was in an excellent location, far enough away from Tamarindo so we could enjoy the quiet, but close enough to walk in and enjoy the restaurants, shops and nightlife.
The villa was clean and comfortable and I thought the kitchen was one of the best equipped in any of the properties that I've rented. We cooked in quite a bit and I didn't find anything lacking. If you're there on a Saturday morning walk/drive into Tamarindo and go to the farmer's market for local fresh fruit and vegetables. The outdoor cooking area was a great place to fix a meal and relax.
We loved the pool/Jacuzzi area and spent quite a bit of time there as it was windy during our stay and hard to stay on the beach with the flying sand. We were assured by the locals that this was not the norm, but the wind was pretty consistent for the two weeks we were there. The pool and Jacuzzi both stayed cool, which was welcome after the heat of the day.
There is space for a car/golf cart, but we just walked or used a taxi. We used the taxi stand in Tamarindo (got a card our first day there for the number) and they were prompt and had newer, clean cars. If you use them tell them Quatro Gringos sent you. They'll know right where Casa Oasis is!
Bokas (tapas), El Sap (pizza) and Matties (salads/sandwiches) are all close the house with great food. There's a little market at the end of the street which we used frequently for ice cream. In Tamarindo we ate at Pangas Beach Club, Pategonia, The Ocean, La Palapa, Witch's Rock/Volcano Brewing, Seasons, and El Bey, which were all good. We did the buffet at Capitan Suiza and were disappointed. I wouldn't go back there again.
We did have a minor issue and contacted the property manager who had someone there in about fifteen minutes.
Prince the cat was a welcome addition to our week. He loves to be petted and fussed over.
All in all we had a great two weeks there and would definitely rent this property again.

About the host
Hosted by Peter
I am an orthopedic surgeon from So Cal who has traveled and surfed in Costa Rica for years. I will retire there someday, but in the meantime, will rent out my tropical oasis for vacationers to enjoy. I hope to add onto the home in the future - maybe 2 more levels. This home has great potential.
Why they chose this property
I have been traveling to Tamarindo for many years and always wanted to buy a home in the area. I love Costa Rica and Tamarindo is the best area to visit. Playa Langosta is a beautiful beach that is located near the Tamarindo area. It's a great place to own property.
What makes this property unique
The property offers a close beach proximity and privacy. It is close to the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo, but retains tranquility. The house is the perfect place for a family vacation. There is a huge living room with kitchen and living room islands that is great for entertaining small crowds. There is also a wine refrigerator. The home interior is exquisite and the exterior is very functional with a beautiful tropical garden and pool/jacuzzi.
