View was great. The photos were definitely taken when the house was less lived in. Overall clean and comfortable. Very private drive that’s great for nature walks.
Great Location and views. This property is located on a perfect spot with a mountain to yourself to enjoy and desconect. It is close to many attractions and conveniently near by stores and restaurants. I would recommend this rental to anyone who wants to enjoy the beautiful scenery and quiet. The only reason I did not give 5 stari is because the overall maintenance of the Cabin is not good. Some minor issues but nothing that prevented us from having a great time. IMHO it needs a facelift in term if furniture and overall maintenance but other than that I strongly recommend this property.
This is a beautiful and clean home. We had great communication with the host. However, if you need a handicap accessible home to the main floor, this home has access only to downstairs. This was not clear to me when I booked the home.
We had a wonderful time visiting. The house fit our large family well. It was comfortable and had plenty of space for us all to enjoy. The kitchen had all that we needed to cook large family meals. The deck views were beautiful! We enjoyed walking the property, which has nice walking trails. It was easy to reach the host, who quickly addressed any questions we had.We will return!
We stayed at this property for Thanksgiving. The deck and views are wonderful; the main floor living/kitchen space is bright and roomy. We look forward to visiting again in the warmer months!
We were looking for peace and quiet and that’s exactly what we found. Beautiful views away from it all and hiking trails to explore on the property. The perfect getaway!
The house was great! We loved our stay. It is located in a very private area which feels like having your own mountain. The location is convenient to Franklin or North Georgia. There are cute local places all around. The house was beautiful and well equipped with everything we need.
Unfortunately, we could not stay due to my wife being in the hospital, but the other two couples said the stay was excellent and the home is beautiful. They sent us picture of them drinking wine and enjoying the wonderful view.
Whether exploring the trails and creek on the property or the beautiful waterfalls and lookouts in the area, this was a beautiful and peaceful place to relax and enjoy time with family. The accommodations were wonderful with every modern convenience but sat perfectly at the top of the mountain secluded from the hustle and bustle of the fun mountain towns. It is a wonderful location to be able to rest and relax but still closely located to the towns, restaurants, shopping and attractions in the area.
The house and property are just as described. Our family had a great time. Lots of space in the house and lots of property to explore. The deck is absolutely amazing. We spent every evening on the deck watching the sunset.
This is probably the best equipped VRBO we have ever stayed in! If you have children, they will love their bedroom and all the things that go with it. We loved hanging out at the firepit and in the large family area with wall to wall windows. There were 8 of us staying and we had plenty of room for everyone. We would definitely recommend this property to families. Having a washer and dryer, 3 bathrooms, a cool downstairs living area and gameroom was great too!

Thank you so much Gayle loved hosting your family thank you for the lovely review and I hope to host you and your family again at Mountain Star.
The house was absolutely beautiful. Plenty of room. Not exactly motorcycle friendly driveway. But we may do. I would definitely recommend this house for a family/friends gathering.
We were 9 woman in the cabin this past weekend. Wow!! The views from 3 sides of windows. Spectacular. Furnishings were lovely, mattresses were comfortable. Appliances all worked, and the addition of coffee pods, creamer, treats, and trash bags were a welcome addition. I highly recommend for your next trip.
We really enjoyed our stay. This is a beautiful property surrounded by nature! It had everything we needed. The host thought of everything and everyone to make this a positive experience. There were hair dryers in every bathroom, baby and kids stuff in the kid's room. There was a gaming /play room. The kitchen that all all the appliances we needed. Our dog didn't get to come on this trip, but if he had, the host had thought of him too. The binder with attraction/ restaurant recommendaions was very useful.
We enjoyed our trip to the various falls and towns nearby. We would reserve this property again.
I rented the house for my daughter’s wedding so we could all be together as a family, sons from Michigan and Missouri came. We stayed Friday night after the wedding rehearsal and left fairly early Saturday for the wedding which was about 10-12 minutes away. When we got back to the house after all the wedding celebration with the bride and groom the power was out. We gathered our things and left! My niece, one of the bridesmaids for the wedding got up to go to the bath on Friday night and because the doors are close together, she opened the wrong door and tumbled down the stairs. She had a slight concussion and bruises. If it had been an older person, it could have been much worse! This definitely needs to be addressed by the homeowner! Feedback and compensation is expected!

I’m sorry this was your experience but unfortunately a power outage in the area after a storm is something that is an act of nature and something that is beyond my control. I have no way of restoring power as we all rely on a power company.
As far as a fall in the middle of the night, that’s unfortunate, but this is not due to any flaw in the design of the house.
We had a wonderful family Thanksgiving at this cabin. The hilltop location was beautiful and the cabin itself was lovely. We had small children with us and could tell the host had put thought into what would make the stay easier when traveling with children. Would definitely stay there again if we found ourselves in Otto in the future.
I jokingly told my family I wanted to leave a bad review just so this place is always available when we want to return… and we will return. We plan on making this place our yearly vacation spot. The pictures don’t do this place justice. We felt so safe at the house as you have to cross a private gated drive to access property. Bonus which we did not expect is the amount of property this house sits on. If you’re a nature lover this is your spot. Lots of walking trails, winding creek and waterfalls, access to large creek for fishing… this place has it all. Only slight negative is you can hear the sound of the highway at the house. It didn’t bother us at all, but if you are looking for complete seclusion that might be only draw back.
This property was spectacular for a family getaway. The home had everything that you could ask for on a vacation- entertainment, incredible views with comfortable outdoor furnishings, and in a fantastic location. We will definitely be back!
