Black Hills excursion
We came for a family vacation with a schedule full of day trips. The house was clean and ready for our stay. The house is a little dated, but had everything you would need. It was well stocked with many necessities, and many we didn't expect, we were even able to make a batch of cookies with the ingredients found on a rainy day. 90% of our trips took us to, or through Hill City first, it was about a fifteen minute drive, then we would continue to our destination, so it was a tad out of the way, but it is a pleasant drive, which we did a lot of, so the extra drive time didn't bother us. There is daily wildlife visitors, it was nice to see the deer, turkey, and rabbit. We spotted a group of elk just a few miles from the property, the only elk we saw on the trip! We would recommend the property, and definitely stay there again.

Hill City Stay
This property was perfect for us. Deer were seen nightly. House had everything you would ever need. Would recommend to anyone wanting a getaway. We came during the Sturgis rally and this was a good central location for riding.

Black Hills family vacation
Absolutely wonderful mountain cabin! Central location made it easy to explore the Black Hills, but out of town meant space for the kids to play and quiet nights. Plenty of space for all 3 families, well stocked kitchen, lots of games, great deck for lounging, and wildlife, too. It does not get any better than this! Thank you, Jamie, for sharing your beautiful cabin with us!

Originally from NE South Dakota but now reside in Sioux Falls. Our family has had this cabin in the hills for almost 40 years and we all enjoy spending time away from our homes out there. With work and family we can't always be there so love being able to share our cabin with other families so they can enjoy their Black Hills vacation too.

Why they chose this property

The home sits on 5 acres of pine tree covered land across from the National Forest. It is easily accessible from the black top road just 9 miles North of Hill City. It is peaceful and my favorite thing is sitting on the deck in the morning (or anytime actually) enjoying my breakfast while watching the sun come up over the trees and talking to Jack the bunny that has been hanging out in our yard for 3 years. The deer and wild turkeys are amazing to see just grazing the yard too. If you are a bird watcher, you will see an assortment of birds and we have several bird feeders to attract them. At night the sky is so clear you can see all the stars and consolations, you may even hear the coyotes howl from a distance.

What makes this property unique

This cabin is unique to me as it was family built by my late grandfather and all of his children and even some of the grandchildren helped do something. More recently we have updated its interior décor with a mix of wildlife and modern design with some of the art work my grandparents once made still are incorporated. It is different from the rest as it is easily accessible by car and you don't need to take any low maintenance roads to get there. We have Wi-Fi through Century Link so you can stay connected and keep up with your favorite shows on the 75" smart TVs.
