It was secluded but still close to attractions and restaurants. Very quiet area, full of wildlife you can watch right from the porches. We plan to visit again as soon as we can.
What a great place to stay!So close to town, yet private and feels secluded.Really enjoyed hiking in to the Wildlife Management Area and hearing the elk.
We went to Chama to ride the train with our granddaughters, they loved it! Our 6 year old granddaughter called the Cabin in the pines "the perfect little house".
Excellent stay in a terrific property in the woods but close enough to town. Everything was exactly as expected and super comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful cabin in wooded area, but still close to downtown and train depot. Owners are very responsive and dealt with minor issue that came up, quickly and well. Kitchen is well stocked with the basics for cooking, which is great because there really are few dining options in Chama.

This property is a gem! The home was well kept and clean. We lived on the wrap around porch. We enjoyed watching the deer graze as we drank our coffee! I highly recommend this rental and we would definitely stay here again!
Darling, quaint little cabin. Quiet and peaceful, very relaxing would highly recommend! We had a great relaxing time and would definitely come back. The hosts were very nice and had great communication. The cabin has all you could ask for!
Perfect location, walkable to the creek, downtown and train station close and convenient, beautiful wrap around deck especially at night. Little kids playhouse on the property. Owners and property management exceptional. Great stay for 5 people
Cabin in the Pines was a wonderful place to stay. Chama is a hidden gem. The house had everything you might need and was very quiet. The wraparound porch was a perfect touch. I loved watching all the birds, deer, bear(s), and bobcat. The Phippens were great to work with.
The location of the cabin is unparalleled! It’s so close to the wildlife protection area you can walk there. The cabin itself is so cute and cozy, with really comfortable beds. We wished there was a little more of a living room/lounge area as the one sofa was a little cramped, but beyond that it was a really nice stay! The wrap around porch is gorgeous and although we were there on a snowy day, would have otherwise loved to enjoy the outdoor living space. Austin was super communicative and helped ensure an easy check in process.
We had the most wonderful stay at this charming VRBO in Chama! The house was absolutely perfect—beautifully decorated, cozy, and full of thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. The backyard area was such a lovely space to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. What truly made our stay exceptional, though, was the hospitality of the owners. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. You can really tell they care about their guests and take great pride in their property. We’re so grateful for the experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Chama.
Just the right size for my mom, my dog and me. The cabin was just as described and true to the pictures. It was also a perfect quiet area behind town, with plenty of roaming space for my pup to explore. It’s not a fenced area, so that was the only downside. Otherwise, the amenities were all we needed and a great place to escape!
Overall the property was very nice. Good location, nice and spacious and plenty of room for the dogs to run around outside. The wrap around porch was great for relaxing outside in the afternoon. Inside had everything you’d need. Very cute layout and amenities, plenty of blankets and fans to adjust temp and comfort level. The only thing I will say is that we did not find it to be very close to much river access, and we ended up driving out each day to a spot we normally fish at, but this wasn’t a problem at all, just not exactly close to river access like advertised. We would definitly stay here again!
