Loved this beautiful spot! The beds were comfy, the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking breakfast and lunch, and the view of the mountains is better in person. Very spacious rooms! Pay attention to the driving directions, and you’ll be totally fine. Do the hike to Eagle’s Rock! My only regret is that we didn’t discover this gem sooner!
The house had everything we needed and was great for our long weekend! Host was super responsive and easy to communicate with. We were so sad to leave the beautiful views. The hike up to Eagle Rock was very scenic and offered incredible panoramic views.
Mostly Great but Pricey Little Gem in Topanga Canyon
This place was pretty great although a little hard to get to especially in the dark of night. Quiet, clean (small problem with ants in the kitchen though). Also one of the bedrooms is not heated. Was a bit pricey for what you get.
it's a little adventurous getting up to the house and getting parked. The house is nice with simple but cute interiors. back deck overlooks an amazing canyon view. Very quiet and peaceful. Beds slide easily on the floor, that was odd. but overall happy with it.
This was an excellent place to stay, it looked just like the pictures and each room was great and clean! The huge deck is gorgeous. The only tough thing is getting up there and parking, we had one pickup truck and a sedan and they barely fit in the spot, and there's no fence next to the parking spot so it's a bit hazardous. If you have smaller cars though it would probably be easier. Otherwise though, using the keypad to get in was easy and we had a wonderful time at this home! They had everything we needed and waking up to the view of the valley and mountains was magical. A Topanga gem!

Thank you Amy! Sorry about the parking, there is ample street parking as well although it may look like just a dirt road! Next time you are welcome to park along the road as well before entering the driveway! I’m so glad you enjoyed the beautiful views! Thank you again for your stay and review.

Great Views, bad parking and road access
The time it took to get to the property was more than was stated when looking at landmarks on vrbo. It takes a while to get through the canyon and to the property. Penny road is very scary to drive on and there are not enough parking spots on the property. With that being said, the view is beautiful and the property view was as advertised in the listing.

Hi Brenda! It is stated that the time from the main road, Topanga, to the unit is about 8 minutes. You do have to drive carefully but that is how it is all over Topanga canyon with their mountain dirt roads. Unit A actually has 4 spots total (2 rows tandem) so I apologize if you did not know that. Glad you had an overall good stay!

VERY Secluded & Dangerous
The house has great views and was overall very clean. However, pay close attention to the comments that have been recently added (after we booked our stay) regarding the street. The drive up the street is no fun and the walk from your parking spot (the street where you will have to navigate horse manure as you exit your vehicle) to the stairs to get up to the second floor is dangerous. This house is relatively decent, but the "neighborhood" has some very sketchy people/properties and there is minimal chance you are walking to a few local restaurants around the corner as stated. The kitchen did not have some basic cooking essentials (a pan to cook biscuits) and the property manager became confrontational when asked to address that small issue (she did order a pan that was delivered during our stay).
Overall the property is decent, with great views, but beware of what you are getting into when it comes to parking, turning around to leave the property, and walking in and out to your vehicle.

Hi Bradley! Yes! You are in the mountains where horses do share the same road as you. Normally people find it endearing to be so secluded you can see animals! Even peacocks roam the area. Next time I will make sure to clear the road of all horse manure and pave the road for you as well. I hope the cooking pans that I immediately ordered eased all your frustration. Thanks again!

Cool place but not for everyone
Stunning views and newly renovated home, but it comes with a price. The canyon road that leads up to the house, as others have mentioned in their reviews, is no joke. It’s steep and unmaintained; our Durango nearly bottomed out while attempting to turn around in the narrow parking area on the edge of a steep drop off. Plus, this unit is on the second floor, and you have to drag your luggage both down from the steep parking spot and up a long, steep outdoor flight of wooden steps. Once inside, the place is beautifully decorated with an updated kitchen, which felt very welcoming. It was chilly during our June visit, and we soon realized that only 2 of the bedrooms have climate control (no heat or a/c in the main living area, kitchen or third bedroom) and there were no extra warm blankets or pillows, so we couldn’t enjoy most of the space. Also note that the updated bathtub in the photo is a shallow shower tub, not a soaker tub. Though the deck was beautiful and the views were great, despite the renovation, the place still had an old house smell that triggered allergies so we left early. This would be a great place for a retreat — since coming and going from the house is extremely stressful — as long as you don’t mind the air and climate control issues. Also, we didn’t see any restaurants anywhere nearby, but enjoyed eating at The Inn of the 7th Ray — about a 15 minute drive in the bottom of the canyon.
This house was awesome! Location is perfect for being not too far from the city yet still tucked away in a very peaceful place. We had a great time staying here and at some points all we wanted to do was just hang out on the deck and enjoy the view. There were a few adjustments needed at the start of the trip but the host was very willing to work with us and make our stay as accommodating as possible. We would definitely come back again.
