In spite of unseasonal weather, we enjoyed our stay here sipping coffee and watching rain fall on Lake Tapps. The bed was very comfortable and Nelson was a gracious host.
This was perfect for our weeks stay in the area! We lived here for 30 years so we spent the time connecting with old friends and collegues. Nelson was the perfect host and the property is absolutely beautiful. He was available for anything we needed. Lake front for relaxing and watching all the water sports was great. We even were able to get some swimming in for exercise. Will book here again next year!colleagues.
I can't say enough about how nice this studio rental is! We left our shades open to wake to the most beautiful view you can imagine! Nelson, our host, was very helpful and nice to talk with. We paddleboarded and kayaked (provided by Nelson) and even saw a bald eagle relaxing on the covered patio. There are plenty of places to eat close by and we brought back our food because we wanted to eat on the patio dinner table. Roomy studio room and cannot think of anything else we needed. Just a short walk to get a view of Mt Rainier reflecting off the lake. Private dock and fished a little too. Caught small mouth bass and saw big Tiger Muskee jumping all over. We will be returning to this remarkable place!
We had a fabulous time at this VRBO. New, clean and extremely well maintained. We enjoyed using paddle boards, kayaks, fire pit and grill. Everything was absolutely excellent. Nelson is a great host. Very nice and welcoming. Highly recommend! We plan to be back.
We had a wonderful time at this studio! The weather was perfect and warm and we took paddle boards for a ride every day during our 5 day stay. The view of Mt Rainier just unbelievable. The studio has everything you may need for a short stay. Drinking coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening on the patio with this gorgeous views of the lake just feels like a paradise! Nelson is a very friendly and responsive host. Thank you very much!!!
I want to first start with how amazing and hospitable Nelson was as our host. Very communicative and helpful. The property is beautiful and had amazing views. The room had everything you could possibly need and was very clean. If and when we come back we’ll definitely be staying here again. Highly recommend!
We had a fabulous stay with everything we needed right there in this great studio.
Nelson greeted us and was there to answer questions. We appreciated his guide with recommendations and local info. The view and patio can’t be beat. There’s no better place for morning coffee! We’ll gladly return. Thanks!
We had an amazing time at this beautiful Lake Tapps studio. The weather was perfect and the views are incredible. I kayaked every day and loved every minute of it. Highly recommend!
Needed a place to stay while in town for a wedding. The king bed was comfy but a bit awkward getting in and out of. There were no night stands or bed side reading lights. We had a nice stay on Lake Tapps.
The pictures do not do this place justice. This place is so comfortable and the owner thought of every need. The view is simply amazing!!!!!!! The owner is very personable. This place is so clean! We will definitely be back. Great place to relax! Recommended!
The basement studio was even nicer than the pictures. Large windows brightened the room and offered picturesque views of Lake Tapps. We would highly recommend this property and location. Wonderful views of Mt Rainier across the beautiful lake. Sitting on the lovely patio in the evening, we were able to enjoy rainbows, sunsets and watch hot air balloons drift across the blue sky. Relaxing atmosphere and very clean accommodations. Nelson was a great host! We hope to stay again someday.
This private studio with Lake Tapps as a backdrop is a wonderful serene get away that did not disappoint. Swam and paddleboarded to my hearts content. Enjoyed coffee on the patio soaking in the lake. Very comfortable bed. Clean and very thought out space. Nelson was a wonderful host. Will be returning and hopefully there's availability.
Love, love, love this place. The first thing we noticed was how quiet and peaceful it was. The property is immaculate. Nice labeled guest parking space. The entrance is a beautifully appointed porch overlooking the lake and mountains. Comfortable outdoor seating. Inside there's panoramic views of the lake and mountains from every window. One thing very much appreciated was the light blocking blinds, and they can be opened bottom up or top down. Everything is high quality and well thought out. Eating area inside and outside. There's was also a grill outside, and a firepit near the water. Bed was extremely comfortable and all bedding high quality. Good sized refrigerator/freezer with plenty of ice ready for our use. Microwave and a selection of coffees, teas and snacks. I do wish they was a small kitchenette sink, and a table near the frig that was counter height would be helpful, but we managed just fine. We really enjoyed the paddleboarding. We were there for a 3 day music festival in the area. We want to come back just for some R&R because it was wonderful to sit outside and enjoy the views and breeze. Owner was super helpful and fast to communicate.

I expect you’ll soon realize why I describe this site as paradise. I’ve grown up vacationing and then living on this island on Lake Tapps since I was a young boy and I can’t imagine living anywhere else despite travelling the world (67 countries and counting). Please make yourself at home, relax, unwind and make the most of your stay. I feel certain you’ll agree that Lake Tapps is truly a wonderful place on Earth.
Why they chose this property
My property is situated in a private, gated island community close to popular restaurants, eateries, and attractions and within easy driving distance from Tacoma (35 minutes), Seattle (45 minutes) and Crystal Mountain and Mt. Rainier National Park (both 85 minutes away).
Our island is very quaint and friendly with very little traffic due to the gated entry. We ask all guests to respect the privacy of others and please realize that there is a 15 MPH speed limit on the island.
What makes this property unique
Access to 100 feet of easterly facing waterfront and also on the backside of the property, another 100 feet of westerly facing waterfront. Both have dock with ladders and swim area, plus firepits. Therefore, one can get sun at any time of the day. Also, two sit-on-top kayaks and two inflatable paddleboards with gear are available for use by guests.
