We enjoyed our stay
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was big enough, the lake was perfect the kids played all day. I wish there was WIFI but it was also nice to be unplugged. If our kids serve on Mackinaw Island we will be back.

So glad you enjoyed our cottage. We have gone back and forth whether to have WiFi, we just thought being unplugged is the way to go.
We had a wonderful time here for a week with our family! There was 9 of us total and plenty of space! We loved being on the quiet part of the lake, and had kind neighbors as well. It is a beautiful area and a great distance to so many things to keep you busy. The owners were very easy to work with and responsive during out stay. Will definitely stay here again!

1 amazing week on Brevort Lake
This cottage we stayed in was absolutely perfect! Our kids had such a great time here. We relaxed and enjoyed the lake, the location in Boedne Bay was perfect, the water was never rough and the sunsets were amazing, the yard and patio had ample shade, and the lake was clear and clean. We could not ask for much more and are already looking forward to a return trip.........maybe 2 weeks this time as 1 may not be enough!

Fantastic Location and Great Home
My family spent December 29 - January 2, 2010 at this rental. The home was perfect for our family. It is very comfortable with plenty of space and the bedroom layout is great for large families. The pellet stove was a nice touch, keeping us warm and cozy as we enjoyed the view of Brevort Lake. While we were there, we enjoyed snowmobiling, talking around the outdoor fire pit, hiking, icefishing and the great local restaurants.
We can't wait to visit again during the summer season!

The cottage is so much fun in the winter. My family loves walking out on the ice and seeing all the ice shanties. The snowmobiling doesn't get much better than up here! We hope to see you in the warmer months too.
The house was a great place for our family (6 adults and 4 kids) to stay for the week while we explored local parts of the UP. Lots of space in the house and the yard for everyone to have room, but also to come together for meals and other activities. Close proximity to St Ignace and Mackinac Island ferry (25 minutes), some sand dunes along Lake Michigan (10 minutes), and the Falls (1 hour).. It was a great place to relax and recharge. Thanks Caroline and Jeff for the use of your place for the week!

Great family vacation
We had a great time at the cottage. There were seven of us and we had plenty of room. The house was clean and there was a great deck out back which we used a lot. The family enjoyed the small beach and they were able to launch their kayaks easily. Lake Brevort was beautiful and would be a great place to bring a boat, if you had one. We loved the location which allowed us to conveniently travel throughout the UP to visit some of the beautiful sites...Tahquamenon Falls, Pictured Rocks, as well as the beach at Lake Michigan. We could also easily go into St. Ignace and Mackinaw City, if we so desired. All in all we had a great time and hope to come back some day.

Watch out for the house keeper!
This house should have a 5 star rating. The reason it got rated lower was because of the last 3 hours of our stay. The house is beautiful! The location is awesome, the lake is beautiful! On our last day at the house, my kids were having one more swim in the lake and we were running out of time quickly. I talked to the owner and she told us not to worry, and to stay out of the house keepers way. As we were leaving, the housekeeper was already there, she was extremely rude to us, questioning why we were there and telling us she will call and tell on us. I informed her I had already talked to the owner. My husband took our last luggage out of the house & she slammed the door in his face and locked it. We were a bit frazzled by how we were being treated. We drove down the road a few miles and checked our luggage at Castle Rock only to discover we had left my $2,500 camera, case, memory card and all equipment sitting in the yard. We immediately went back to find the front door was wide open, the TV was on, the broom was discarded on the floor next to a half swept pile of leaves. There were skid marks in the yard where someone had left at a high rate of speed. And my camera case was gone. I called the owner to inform her of what was happening she told me that the housekeeper was probably there somewhere because her husband dropped her off and leaves. She said that we could look in the house. I went inside and looked and there was nobody there and my camera case was definitely gone. There were several back-and-forth text messages and calls between me and the owner because the housekeeper was saying that she did not see a camera anywhere. I told the owner that her house was wide open and about the skid marks and that I was going to wait outside off the property and call the police to file a report. About 15 minutes later, the owner texted me to tell me that the housekeeper had admitted to taking my camera and was willing to meet us at a local hospital to give it back. We thankfully got the camera (and most important the memory card) back. The next day I was notified by vrbo that extra charges were added to my bill. I investigated, one reason they stated was because the housekeeper had to leave and come back. I filed fraudulent charges with my cardholder and waited. The charges were determined to be fraudulent and removed. If you rent this house, make sure you get all your stuff!

The guests had over stayed by 1 hour after I allowed then an extra hour. My house cleaner was permitted by the guests, after I called, to begin cleaning while they were still packing, but she wasn’t really able to start because the bathrooms were being used. There were several house rules that they didn’t follow such as cleaning and putting away dishes and taking care of garbage. I was also shocked when they decided to use some items , paddle boards, which were cleaned and put away for the season. They were in a trailer with a brand new snow mobile and they had no business being in there. When they called about a camera that she said she left on the front lawn in the grass, I immediately contacted my cleaner and was back and forth with 2 screaming women. Neither wanted to share their phone number so I, 600 miles away, was trying to solve the problem and find the camera. Which I did. As far as I knew that was the end. My cleaner said her husband found the camera and assumed it would be sent to the owner. The guest was threatening to call the police. But the reason for the damage deposit it for leaving late, and not following the house rules.
We enjoyed our stay here with plenty of room for 8 adults. From fishing off the dock, playing games around the dining room table, day trips, sitting on the deck, and catching a glimpse of wildlife. We saw 3 cute foxes, and a momma duck and babies. The sunsets are amazing over the lake. We definitely would stay here again.
We had a great time at this cottage. We had lots of kids, they loved the bunk room! We fished, tubed, had fires, and played on the sandy beach! We live 20 minutes away in St Ignace so we were able to bring out the kayaks too! Thanks for a great time!
Our family had a lovely time at the cottage. The check in/out process was easy, communication was great, and the house had everything we needed. Our kids loved fishing off the dock, the duckies, and playing in the yard. Perfect getaway within reasonable distance to many attractions.
The lake has a small area of sand for young children to play, a shallow area to swim and a dock to fish for perch and bass (at least that’s what we caught). The layout of the house works well for a party of 8 - 10. The gas grill was great for us to cook most of our meals. The only downside was the cleanliness of the rooms. I’m not sure the owners are paying for what they get from their cleaning person/persons. My DIL and myself took an hour to vacuum, mop, wipe areas down and remove extensive cobwebs from behind doors and corners. When I called the owners to report it, they were receptive to my comments. Overall we enjoyed our stay in the upper peninsula.
Enjoyed our stay very much. Was very appreciative of being able to use the boat dock. Nice location with plenty of room to park and easy to access. Thanks Todd
Very nice home in a beautiful location on the shore of Brevort Lake. We visited with our son and daughter-in-law and their four children. Everyone had fun either fishing, swimming, dune surfing or just relaxing. Home is wonderfully situated a few miles from St. Ignace and just a day trip away from many U.P. attractions. Very clean, comfortable, and well stocked kitchen. Already planning a return.

We are glad you enjoyed all the things this area has to offer. Hope to see you next summer!
We loved our time at this property! The house was just as described. The yard was beautiful and the lake was breathtaking. The U.P. Is amazing and we had a really fun time exploring it.
The house:
The kitchen was a bit small but manageable.
No dishwasher.
Plenty of comfy seating
Lots of beds
Laundry was a benefit
Wonderful views of the lake
What we did:
St. Ignace is about 30 mins away- this is where we got groceries.
We visited whitefish bay- 1.5 hours north- worth it!
We kayaked (brought our own)
The yard is big enough for yard games and the surrounding area has plenty of places to take walks in the woods.
This place inspires relaxation and rest. We would come back here in a heart beat!

We are so glad you had a relaxing time. The views are definitely wonderful.
Looks just like the pictures, nice and clean, so nice that it is right on the water, nice little sand area and nice back yard to play outside games on.
The Carriers lake house is absolutely beautiful. We loved every minute that we were there. My kids and grandkids had a great time fishing. It was so quiet and peaceful. It was located perfectly to all of the U.P's attractions. Would love to stay there again next year! Thank you so much!

We are do glad you enjoyed yourselves and hope to see you next year.
This is a great house in a stunning location. We rented four houses along the north shore of Brevort Lake for our extended family, 32 people, who all had a great time. The lake offers many opportunities for recreation; this property has a small dock and a swimming platform. You'll need to bring your own kayaks, though (they are provided at some houses). The location and house are 5-star but the hassle of bringing our own sheets makes it a 4-star for me.

We are so glad you enjoyed your time at our home and we agree the views and location are awesome.
When this guest contacted me about bed linens I told her we would find a solution if they were unable to bring linens. I was contacted again and told not to worry, someone would bring them
House was very nice and has everything we needed. The yard and small beach was great for hanging out outside enjoying the lake. The only reason we didn’t give this house 5 stars was the cleanliness when we checked in.
We had a wonderful time at your place. I enjoyed the quiet location very remote. My grandkids loved the sand area and the water is nice and clear. Lake is shallow in many places so we had to be careful with our boat but the sandy bottom was also a plus. Thank you. I would rent this place again.

About the host
Your host
My husband and I bought this home in 2007 and did a great deal of updating and improving. We are so happy with how it has turned out, and we spent a lot of time in the lake while the renovations were going on. We have 3 young children and live outside Detroit.
Why they chose this property
My husband spent a lot of time in the Upper Peninsula as a child and fell in love with this area.
What makes this property unique
Being on the more private bay of a large lake is great. It's very quiet and relaxing on our property yet we can be in the big part of the lake in a few minutes. The sunsets are my favorite part of this property.
