Great location to stay for VA hiking and DC site seeing.
Great space and pet friendly. Hosts were attentive and were available with suggestions for things to do in the area. Hosts were flexible with our plans and communicated quickly.
Lovely home on a large wooded lot that's still near to amenities. Clean and well decorated with anything you may need during your stay provided. Host is highly responsive and helpful. Thank you for a great stay!
Spacious, comfortable and clean upper level of a house on a magnificent 5 acre lot in beautiful Great Falls, VA. The host (Paula) was extremely helpful, kind and thoughtful so we’d highly recommend her listing!
We enjoyed our stay at this house in a beautiful and tranquil setting. All our needs were met. I especially enjoyed the sitting room with all the windows. Great Falls Park was a close drive away, and everything else was easy to get to. If comfort, natural beauty, and quiet are what you are looking for, this is the place.

The property is situated in what seems to be a very wealthy area. The location for trips to the city and trails around Great Falls is excellent. A car is recommended though. There are some great amenities in the local area including restaurants and shops. The malls are quite massive. Upon arrival, we found the property to be in a reasonable condition but it could use some modernisation
The property is older than we expected and the pictures show. Check in was seamless, however, one of the beds was pretty filthy and had animal hair all on it. We had to ask management to wash sheets and covers. But once we asked they quickly did it.
Paula provides a home away from home, tucked away in the woods on a beautiful tree-lined road, but still just minutes from any modern services you might need. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and bathrooms, and many cozy spots to rest and relax both indoors and outside — I loved to enjoy a few moments each morning on the side porch off the living room listening to the chorus of birds. Thanks for hosting us!

Renovation Escape
The property is tired and unkempt. The furniture is dirty, there are windows broken, and we had ants in the property.
This beautiful 1950s home was set among a lovely wooded property and we enjoyed being able to see the lovely landscapes from just about every room in the house! This is a unique home that the owners expanded over time to include a fun upstairs children’s room with a book nook as well as a first floor great room with a pot belly stove and cozy seating.
The kitchen was roomy and had ample counter space. We found appropriate dish ware for just about every meal we wanted to have on site - from breakfast before our metro rides to ice cream when we finally got back home. One day we even baked a pizza for lunch. The kitchen features a spacious refrigerator, range, oven, microwave, toaster, 12-cup coffee maker, and Keurig coffee maker. We gathered for breakfast at the kitchenette table and were very cozy there before starting our days. (That table also made for a great spot to charge all of our phones/devices each night!)
Both a first floor bedroom and the upstairs loft-type space featured two twin beds each. My children (11 & 14) settled in and felt right at home in their respective spaces. Of course, they both wanted the cool upstairs, so they swapped mid-week. For my hubby and I, the main floor master bedroom featured incredible wooded backyard views through large windows on two sides and a fun triangular window on a third side. The huge king size bed was very comfortable and we also loved the chaise lounge in the room — it was very comfortable the one time I got to it first!
There are two bathrooms in the house; one large and spacious near the first floors kids’ room and the other a little smaller en route to the master bedroom. Both gave our party of four plenty of space to take care of business.
The main living room had a nice-sized table where we gathered for game night a few times. My son also made full use of the lovely piano in this space!
Downstairs, we made ample use of the washer/dryer. The washer is the kind with the center agitator so depending on what you’re used to you may be running smaller loads more often.
We had an issue with some ants which the homeowner called professionals to address as quickly as possible. Also, the garage pictured is for access to the lower level apartment where the owner’s son lives- not part of the vrbo rental space. Plenty of outside parking.
Overall, we had a lovely stay! Beautiful area, great neighborhood! Loved all the personal touches in this home and yard!

Why they chose this property
Convenient but secluded private street serving 10 homes on 100 acres. Homeowner bought the property with a handshake from developer in 1976. Current and previous owners commuted 30 minutes to their government jobs in DC for decades. Traffic has lengthened the trip but this area will remain special for its history - dairy farmers bringing milk to DC and visitors coming by train to see Potomac River waterfalls in the 1900s.
What makes this property unique
This level property is surrounded by mature trees in a park like setting with trails. Firepit, horseshoes, trampoline, swing, hammock and lots of perennial plants and wildlife provide onsite entertainment and interest.
