This property is very clean. We were very close to town and that was convenient.Nevada city is a historical town with lots of sightseeing. The host supplied many magazines and references to things to do.
We had a great amount of space for the four of us and loved being able to spend some time in the backyard with the great weather we had. Nice and quiet space!
We really loved this house and would happily return. It was roomy, comfortable, charming, and very close to town. We had breakfasts and played games in the kitchen and outdoors, did art projects in the living room, and watched a movie in the other living room. The kids had their own rooms - a bonus!

Thanks Jenny so glad you enjoyed my home. I am so glad you got to take advantage of all the rooms and relaxed and had memorable family time. You are welcome back anytime. Until then, take care, Susan
We loved our stay in Nevada city. The house was very cozy and our family felt right at home. We were celebrating my dad’s 70th birthday and cooked several meals at the home. The house had everything we needed. We also really enjoyed the little touches, vintage and antique decor throughout the home!
I've been reserving this home pretty consistently for quite some time for a work crew. The home is bright, clean and comfortable with plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs. And a convenient location!
Nice Victorian with some modern amenities. Clean and spacious. It had everything you’ll need. It is almost a mile to town and there are not always sidewalks, so it’s not quite as walkable to town as we had expected.

Thanks for your kind review. Sorry I didn't meet you. Thanks for leaving my home so clean. I should have shown you the path that makes it easy to walk off of the street to town. Yes, it is .6 miles to the base of Broad.
I hope you enjoyed the wedding. Take care, Susan

Harassing Owner
⸻The Worst VRBO Experience I’ve Ever Had – Host is Greedy, Controlling, and Harasses GuestsIf you value your privacy, comfort, or even basic respect, do NOT book this property. This was hands down the worst rental experience I’ve ever had, and it had nothing to do with the house itself—it was the host.Days before my stay, the host started harassing me about my plans after I told her I was a grandfather visiting my kids and grandkids. The listing advertised the place as a “great family house, perfect for family gatherings,” but apparently that was a lie. She actually threatened to cancel my reservation a few days before my arrival just because she didn’t like that I wanted to have my family over for dinner. Even worse, she charged me an extra 200 because she thought I had an extra person stay in the house. I did not. It didn’t stop there. Once I arrived, the harassment continued. Only my 13-year-old granddaughter stayed with me every night, yet the host constantly accused me of sneaking extra people in and then charged me 200 extra because my granddaughter slept in two different beds. Yes, you read that right—she charged me 200 because a child slept in more than one bed.The host clearly has nothing better to do than monitor and nickel-and-dime her guests. It was so stressful I couldn’t even enjoy the one vacation I get all year.

Ben, I don't know where all this anger came from. I did not harrass you at all. I Talked to you two times during or before your stay. You requested I talk to you before your arrival to tell me your kids and grandkids had a dog and so you were allergic and could not go to their house. I said that was OK with me but usually I don't have lots of extra guests, parties, or special gatherings. I wished you well. I never mentioned cancelling your reservation!! My house is 4 bedrooms and I charge by the number of people there, You reserved for 2 people the minimal amount. I went by one morning to put out the trash. The only time I went by. There were extra cars there. (Obviously more people staying there.) You said no one extra stayed there. When I asked about the car, you did tell me another family member did stay there. I am sorry you had difficulty enjoying your vacation. But I am not the source of your anger or lack of enjoyment. I only spoke to you once in the 10 days you were there. I never harrassed you. Take care.
My experience with Berggren VRBO in Nevada City was a blessing-the Sunflower themed home had lots of trees surrounding it and situated in quiet neighborhood with parking for 4 sedans or two large trucks and two compact cars!
There was heatwave during our stay so the temperature in Nevada City was 10 degrees cooler than in Sacramento area!
Sleeps 6 comfortably even if you do share beds; and with living areas for dining and watching TV there was plenty of room to rest and relax without feeling crowded - WiFi available and AC in one room.
Handicapped access was not an issue for our stay. However, beware of stairs - elderly who have arthritis may have difficulty and it is not equipped for wheelchair access.
The owner apologized that she did not have a notebook which was taken and was not replaced to know what expectations were when we checked out. Still, owner was most responsive when I had concerns and questions when I texted and called!
VrBo had minor maintenance issues (included fire alarm batteries needed replacement and gate had loose part that fell off during our stay which owner was aware of - older washer and dryer - lint catcher screen was worn - were available and functional) I overlooked these inconveniences because of the location away from high traffic areas and adequate parking!
Charming well-worn and loved cozy house surrounded by bountiful green trees and foliage!
May the peace of Jesus Christ be with you and Almighty God bless you all now and forever!
