About this property

Quiet Getaway to take a break - before you "break".

Need a mini-vacay or just a few days away? Need to take a break... before you break? Or just looking for some peace and quiet? A retreat at KlockWise cottage is a great choice The perfect place to feel yourself, hear your own inner guidance, walk barefoot (or not), do a walking meditation in the labyrinth, sit in the prayer circle and set your intentions, or just take a deep breath and EXHALE.

Our beautiful guest cottage has one large room with a murphy bed that you can lift up and out of the way for your own yoga practice, or morning stretches. And a second room with a kitchenette and sitting area for tea or coffee and a good book!

There is a fire cauldron with stone benches next to the guest house, for your own personal fire, or you can request that we do a larger ceremonial fire in the pit out behind the house.

We are what mainstream would call homesteading “conspiracy theorists”… we are gathers and makers of art from rocks and gems and natural items from the vast landscape that surrounds us, and many of our creations can be seen around the property! Some is for sale, while some is just for the pleasure of its presence.

You can choose to hike or cross country ski in Andersen Forrest that borders our land, drive 20 minutes into Ithaca to enjoy waterfalls, and state parks, visit greek peak for downhill skiing or tubing, or just hibernate here on our hill enjoying peace and quiet.

There are 3 large dogs that live here, that you can hang out with should you choose, but we generally keep them fenced when we have guests… there and a few cats that roam the property and love attention, but are not permitted into the guest cottage.

*Herbal Remedies (we are medicine makers-www.klockwisecreations.com), books, crystals and other healing supports (reflexology, energy sessions) available for purchase on site*

The refrigerator will contain a few simple breakfast items. Should you choose, you can purchase lunch and dinner (simple organic meals) from us with a week advanced notice. Pre-ordered meals will be delivered to the guest cottage at your requested times.

There are a number of wonderful restaurants available, all within 30 minutes away, in all directions (Ithaca, Cortland, Owego, Binghamton).

Wonderful time !!!
We had an absolutely incredible time at the cottage. The hosts are amazing people and we would go back every weekend if we could. Anniyah is the best healer I've ever met and she's 100% legit. Her herbal remedies are amazing and me and my partner still use them every day.

Relationship Building Stay Away from Busy Life
The property is stunning, with the most eclectic collections of life all around the building and the land. There is always something new to be discovered in the surroundings, but also new discoveries within yourself. The energy of the hill of the property is filled with growth and healing, if you're looking to get away and look in, this is the spot.

About the host

Hosted by Aniiyah

Host profile image
We are the Klocks - Fred and Aniiyah. We are 75% homesteaders, working toward creating a fully self sufficient life here on our quiet land. Fred has lived on this hill for over 60 years, and he can tell stories of how many of the trees and waterways began. He served in the Navy so he could explore the world, and what he found was his favorite place was right here... He is a creative builder, welder, fixer or things, fire builder and tender, and lover of all humanity.
Aniiyah is recently retired from a 25 year career in bodywork (Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master, Certified Reflexologist, and Intuitive Energy practitioner). She is a Certified Herbalist, and loves the land and grows or wildcrafts all the plants she uses in her herbal remedies (check them out at www.klockwisecreations.com). All remedies are available for purchase while you stay on the hill.
Together we have done animal rescue (which is why we have 3 large dogs and 10 cats), offered respite to others who need a break from "reality", have an open door open heart policy for visitors, and look forward to meeting all those who are "called" to our hill!

What makes this property unique

We live on the top of a hill, surrounded by state forests, where more than 3 cars passing is a busy day. This is a place where you can hear yourself think, where there are no street lights so the stars are brighter and feel very expansive. When you're here, you can take a "weed walk" with Aniiyah, and she can share how to identify and harvest for your own medicine making once you return home. People who come to visit, tell us that they "feel different" as soon as they start to drive up the hill, their shoulders drop, they feel more relaxed, and they can take a deep deep pleasant breath!
We think of this as a little piece of heaven.
