Great country cabin for a quiet and peaceful stay.
My family and I always enjoy staying at the Pine Lodge cabin. It's quickly becoming an annual tradition. The cabin is cozy and warm, and the property is beautiful and peaceful.
We enjoyed our stay at this cabin in rural Candor, NY. Close to parks, hiking trails, and
A short drive to Ithaca. Comfortable accommodations, enjoyed the privacy and the cozy gas fireplace.
Alan and Betsy are welcoming, accommodating exceptional hosts.
The Cabin had plenty of room in an outstanding, quiet, mountain top setting.
We look forward to returning.
We really enjoyed this property. Very cozy and private. The property is rural while still convenient. The area is quiet and gorgeous. We were really able to relax during our stay and had an opportunity to see lots of wildlife. The kids had a lot of fun. Betsy is a great host!

Tranquility
Team of us staying for a nearby spartan race. Owners were very easy and flexible and gracious to help and work with us. Definitely an open lodge noise factor to consider, country water smell but other than that a really great place to stay. We enjoyed it and would go back!
We enjoyed a long weekend at this clean and well maintained log cabin. A peaceful rural setting close to many attractions. A spacious kitchen for cooking, a fire pit to enjoy in the evening while looking at a sky full of stars.
Betsy was great to work with! Hope to return again.
This cabin was perfect for visiting my daughter in nearby Candor. It was super neat and clean, kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, and there was a great supply of fresh linens and towels. Comfortable bed, and very cozy atmosphere. We loved the quiet and seclusion, saw lots of wildlife...deer, turkeys, rabbits. Very clear and easy to follow directions and instructions, and Betsy was easy to communicate with. We will definitely be staying at The Pine Lodge on our next visit.

August Weekend Getaway
My husband and I had a great two night visit at Pine Lodge. The cabin was spacious, clean and well looked after. We spent a lot of time sight-seeing and visiting friends and did not get to spend as much time at the cabin as we would have liked. We loved the fact that it was in the middle of nowhere. Beautiful location. Thank you Betsy for the wonderful hospitality! We hope to return someday with the kids.
Betsy and Alan are great people to rent from. The property was perfect for what we wanted. The cabin is an outdoorsman’s dream. Everything needed was provided. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of room for all of us. Out group has discussed coming here annually because of the beauty of the cabin and proximity to the lakes and wineries. Thank you again for hosting us. And giving us the memories we will never forget in your cabin.

Awesome cabin in the woods.
We have stayed in the cabin twice since our daughter started at Ithaca College in the fall of 2010. We couldn't believe our luck the first time we stayed there. There was no doubt in our mind that we would return to stay again, which we did. We are looking forward to returning this year. Couldn't believe the availability calendar, all booked up for the fall. So happy for Betsy and Alan. Not only is the cabin the best but Betsy couldn't have been nicer.

Great Time on Candor!
Just got back from a great vacation to this beautiful cabin in Candor. We arrived to find the place immaculate. Betsy and Alan were very helpful getting us settled in and acclimated to the area. Part of our trip was an Ithaca College visit, about a 15-20 minute drive up Route 96, a nice country road with lots of scenery. The town of Ithaca was a great place to visit. Owego was also a nice small "old school" town about the same distance to the south with a Main Street that has lots of shops, eateries and strolling along the Susquehanna River. We enjoyed four deer and two wild turkeys strolling onto our property during our stay in the cabin. We highly recommend a stay. Ken and Sally Miller, Howell, NJ

Amazing experience
Wow! We just got back from a weekend in Ithaca where my sister got into school and this house was 100 times better compared to the hotels and B&B's nearby. This is about a 35 minute drive away from Cornell and we knew that going into it. The house was amazing - all wood, clean, comfortable, spacious, and private. I couldn't have asked for anything more. The owner takes great care of it and provides great customer service. The rate is justified by the house. We ever grew to like the deer heads after initially seeing them.
Unusual and somewhat disturbing written host communications, but log cabin was lovely.
No washer and dryer as stated in description. Host stayed she left a pocketbook while making beds. There was no pocketbook in the house. Host paperwork on premises states we must clean and she must come over and check property 15 minutes before we leave premises. It was inconvenient firstly, and secondly, she did not show up.
Other than that, the house was spacious and comfortable.
My friends had a wonderful stay in this cabin! They were thrilled to be “roughing it” in complete comfort! We loved the counter space in the kitchen for organizing all our snacks! The large table made a great gathering place for meals and games. Our host was immediately responsive to any questions. Truly a wonderful stay for the AZ gal pals!
Great cabin just far enough away from civilization
We stayed for a weekend to attend Binghamton graduation. Cabin is rustic but very comfortable and not too far from towns. Antlers and deer trophies on wall in great room give it a country vibe. Plenty of kitchen supplies and beds were comfortable.
Perfect cabin close to a bunch of New Yorks state parks, very clean with a nice large kitchen tons of room for my my eife and I and our 3 kids, the single beds are all in an open loft which just meant we had to keep it quiet once the kids went to bed. Our only complaint were the king and queen beds squeak a lot, like just rolling around in your sleep they are noisy. So if we stayed more then 2 nights I could see that being an issue but otherwise we’d live to go back for another weekend and do more exploring
Nice cabin, quiet location. Beds are firm but comfortable and all necessities provided. House is creaky and if you stay in the lower bedroom you hear every sound from the loft. Not unbearable but if you are a light sleeper not ideal. Water did have a sulfur smell to it but it was explained in the house info book. Communication with host was great.
This property is cozy and quite. Beautiful location. Exactly what we needed for our quick trip. Wish we would had more time to check out trails and woods. Host and hostess great communication. Will definitely go back and stay.

About the host
Hosted by Betsy or Alan Del Mauro
My husband Alan and I grew up in a small town in NJ, only 30 minutes from NYC, we both knew we wanted to experience country living and found these beautiful views of the rolling hills to be breathtaking and very relaxing. We have lived in Candor for about 33 years now and are very happy here. I am a retired teacher and my husband is retired from the wholesale florist business.
Why they chose this property
We built the log cabin vacation rental on our 300 acre property because it is secluded in a beautiful country area where guests can relax and watch the whitetail deer and turkey that roam the fields- yet it is close enough to also be able to visit the nearby attractions. It's location really provides the best of both worlds- allowing guests to escape their busy lives and enjoy the peaceful environment while also offering exciting attractions to visit. We know you will enjoy the beauty of the property and the unique feeling of staying in a real log cabin.
