Oceanfront Penthouse Condominium Spectacular Beachfront View

This Menehune Shores Condo is unit #620 and is an oceanfront/oceanview penthouse, which has 885 square feet with two bedrooms and two baths. The master bedroom is on the oceanside of the building and has a King-size bed. The second bedroom has a Queen bed plus a pull out twin and there is a sofa bed in the living room. Towels and linens are provided. Since it is a penthouse condo, it has higher ceilings (than the lower units) which provides a very spacious feeling.

The kitchen has all the amenities including microwave, cookware, coffeemaker, and dishwasher. The dining area is between the kitchen and the living room. For your entertainment there is a 55 -inch LED TV with cable and Blue Ray & DVD player in the living room. There is also a 40 inch LCD TV with Cable in the master bedroom and a 32" LCD TV with wifi in the second bedroom. There is a 3.8 cubic ft. washer and 5.9 cubic ft. dryer in the unit for your convenience. There is a wonderful ocean breeze most of the time due to being on the top floor and direct ocean front, for this reason air conditioning is not available in this unit. All rooms have ceiling fans and there a several standing fans for your use in the unit.

There is a spectacular view of the ocean and shoreline from the lanai (outside balcony). The view includes the southwestern slopes of Haleakala Crater, three islands, and possibly humpback whales swimming along Maui’s western coast between the months of December and May.

The grounds at Menehune Shores are well kept and the complex has elevators and a roof-top access that is complete with barbecues, picnic tables, and lounge chairs providing a wonderful sunset view. The solar heated, oceanside pool has an additional seaside barbecue area and is adjacent to the ancient Hawaiian fish pond which forms a great protected swim and snorkel opportunity.

The Hawaiian Humpback Whale Sanctuary is our immediate neighbor and information on the seasonal whale population can be obtained there. It is also a great place to view the leaping, blowing mammals that visit us each year to give birth in the warm waters and turtles that rest on the beaches and rocks.

This beautiful condo is centrally located for easy access to all activities on the 'Valley Isle'. The front yard is six miles of pristine beach to swim, run, walk and explore, true Maui style. There are six world-class golf courses a short drive from Menehune Shores. The Pacific Ocean Center Aquarium, where you can view the ocean's inhabitants through a walk-through glass tunnel, is a few minutes up the road on the way to the old whaling port of Lahaina. The exclusive hotels and shops of Wailea are just south of Kihei.

You will find a stay in this condo to be a better value and more relaxed than in an expensive hotel with crowds. Please see our calendar for available dates.

This wonderful beach front condo was like staying at your family or best friend's. We felt right at home and enjoyed every minute of it. Everything from the kitchen to the bedrooms, the beautiful Lanai and our hosts made this place 5 stars for us. The amenities were top notch. We highly recommend and would stay again.

Perfect location

This is a fantastic condo in the perfect location on the beach in Kihei. You can watch the sunset every night from the lanai, rooftop, or beach below. We loved the central Kihei location - easy to get to the other parts of the island. Chris is super responsive. I also really appreciated the well stocked condo - beach gear, towels, even cooking oil and spices in the kitchen! If we ever make it back to Maui, would love to stay here again.

Great Condo

The condo has a world class view that we enjoyed on the lanai. The condo is decorated beautifully and is very well stocked. The kitchen has everything you need. The property is well landscaped and has a great pool and outside grills for cookouts. The rooftop has gas grills, tables and an incredible view. The only complaint we had was that we weren’t informed that the pool was going to be closed the week of our stay. That lack of communication was a concern.

Loved this place

My husband and I stayed here with our two toddlers and my parents and we had plenty of room. I would book here again if we stay in Kihe in the future. The condo has everything you need (and more) along with a 5 star view. The owners were very responsive and handled a small issue that came up immediately. The condo has easy access to the roof top deck and we grilled there 4 of our 5 nights. The beach at the condo is great for kids. As the listing says, there is no AC. There were 4 big fans that did help make the place more comfortable.

Great visit!

This was our second visit to Maui and it was such a great visit. Thank you Chris and Randy for opening your place to visitors. It is in a great location. The description fits as listed of the condo. The building is well-maintained and the staff are nice and helpful. We loved the rooftop option and was nice to enjoy our coffee up there. Chris and Randy have all you would need in the kitchen to cook (yes we cooked breakfast before we ventured out for the day). They also have all you would need for the beach and this was super! The chairs, coolers and umbrella were much appreciated. Although the unit did not have A/C, it was comfortable at night with the fans and the ocean breeze. Chris and Randy provide recommendations and those were great! We would definitely stay again! Thanks again!

An EXCELLENT vacation rental!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The unit was CLEAN, the beds were COMFORTABLE, the view is exactly what you see in the photo - BEAUTIFUL, and the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensils etc. We left the windows open in the master bedroom and fell asleep to the sounds of the waves and the nice breeze. Our 2 teens were very comfortable in the second bedroom - both of the beds were very comfortable. The washer and dryer are a good size. The unit is very close to the elevator so it's very easy to get to. Kihei has some fun shops...more than I expected. Maui Thai Restaurant was our best dinner out - delicious and affordable! We did the road to Hana and highly recommend it - go to the 7 sacred pools, and do the 2 mile hike to Makahiku waterfall - the walk through the bamboo forest is like nothing you've ever experienced. If we are ever able to come back to Maui, we will try to book this unit again. We highly recommend this unit!!!

25th Wedding Anniversary Trip!

We stayed for 5 days in early August with our two teenage boys for this trip. The condo and the property are well maintained and in a nice location. There was plenty of room for our family of four to spread out. We spent time sitting out on the lanai, watching the waves, reading, having coffee, just relaxing. The breeze throughout the condo with the screened doors is wonderful. You don’t’ really need A/C. The beach is just steps away. We enjoyed time in both the protective beach and regular beach area. Chris has provided plentiful of beach supplies, beach towels, snorkel equipment, beach umbrella, and coolers which makes it so convenient and that much less to pack. The kitchen is WELL stocked! We bought some groceries and were able to make breakfast each morning. The beds are comfortable in both bedrooms. My 19 year old slept on the bed while the 12 year old slept on the pull out twin. Worked out well. All of our needs were met and we had a wonderful time! Thank you for sharing Chris!

Stunning Ocean View Condo!

This is by far one of the best units in the Menehune Shores Condominium complex. It has direct ocean views and is located on the top floor. Units on the top floor have higher ceilings than the lower floors. It is well appointed and furnished with all you will need for an excellent Maui vacation. The owner is a pleasure to work with. My wife and I have stayed in this specific unit several times over many years and we always look forward to returning. It faces to the south so there is good sun exposure and you can sit and get tan right on the lanai, which is also very privated. The kitchen has all you will need for food preparation. There are coolers to take to the beach and also beach towels. You won't need to bring much with you if you stay here. The property is well managed and the staff is very friendly. The rooftop has several gas grills to cook on and is a popular gathering place at sunset, which is just about dinner time. The property is close to food stores and popular restaurants. It is the closest condo to the ocean on Maui since subsequent zoning rules would not allow new construction any closer than this. You will fall alsleep at night hearing the gentle ocean waves outside your bedroom window. It is a real value in a Maui condo rental.

Perfect location

So happy we picked this location. So many items available for us to use in the unit. Only missing thing would be AC so we could keep the windows shut and the bird song out each morning. But it was clean, comfortable and safe. Never a worry. That n you so much.

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful property in Kihei! The unit had everything we needed, including crib for our little one and a fully stocked kitchen. Our other kids slept comfortably in the 2nd bedroom on the bed and pullout. The view was gorgeous and we loved eating breakfast on the lanai. We also enjoyed sunset dinners on the rooftop. The host was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely recommend this property for families with young kids!

Beautiful Views and Centrally Located

My family really enjoyed staying here. The views from the lanai are really nice, property is very quiet and feels secluded and the beach was great for morning and evening walks. The location also worked out well for trips to Haleakala, road to Hana, and beaches to the south and west. The rooftop bbq area was also really nice for sunsets. I’ll also mention that we were just fine with no AC. It was about low 80s during the day and the winds picked up in the afternoon so that kept the apartment cool. Just as a tip for future visitors: Ulua beach is a great spot for snorkeling in the early morning. It’s only about a 15 minute drive away and the fish are so close to shore, you can seen them by just walking over to them.

perfect vacation getaway

My family and I had a wonderful time. The condo was centrally located, the grounds were stunning and the views from the condo are top notch. Sitting out on the lanai and waking up to the sunrise was so peaceful. Having two small kids being in such close proximity to the beach was great. The condo itself had everything we needed and when questions came up, Christine readily responded. We did have an issue with the washer which was resolved within a couple hours - the on-island support was very helpful and responsive! We would love to return!

The penthouse condo had an amazing view and was centrally located in Kihei. We enjoyed the pool, adjacent beaches and local restaurants. The condo had everything we need for a great stay with our family. I would definitely book this place again.

Everything we needed and more.

We loved the location and the condo has everything one needs. Seriously, it had everything from spices and condiments to food storage containers and a cooler with icepacks. The unit was conveniently near the elevator but still quiet and there was plenty of parking. Overall the experience of having a beach and sunset in your backyard was worth it! The sea turtles lounge all day on the fish pond rocks and they are amazing to watch too.

I have owned the condo since 2011 after having travelled the world. Maui was supposed to have been our retirement home, until life took another turn. I now enjoy visiting Maui as a working vacation. I take pride in keeping the condo update and well supplied for my guests.

Why they chose this property

When we bought the property in June of 2011, I wanted to make it tropical and homey. I outfitted the kitchen as I would of if I was living there, and I love to cook, so I am constantly buying new items for the condo. We have collected a wide variety of staples that reside in the condo. We like to encourage our guests to use them and feel free to leave your leftovers for the next guest.

What makes this property unique

I provide a well-supplied condo. Most guests comment that they have never stayed at a vacation condo that is so well supplied. I have every kitchen gadget that I could find and stock lots of the basic supplies like spices, baggies, aluminum foil, dishes, pots and pans, etc. If someone tell me that they didn't have something they needed, it will soon be there!

Additionally, for those of you that follow Maui politics. Menehune Shores in not on the Minatoya list. This means Menehune Shores is not in danger of losing our short-term rental status
