Jungle retreat within city neighborhood

So fun! Beautiful and unique apartment with friendly neighbors and a spider monkey who showed up on our balcony the first day to shake our hands! Walking distance to beach and Avenida Cinco for shopping and eats. Would return!

As good as the photos

Lovely place, close to 5th Avenue, but far enough away from the buzz. Walkable to the beach as well. Very clean throughout the property and helpful property manager, who had a wealth of knowledge of the area. This was my first experience of Mexico and Playa del Carmen and I will be returning again to the same property.

great vacation rental

Great location, very close to beach and shopping, walking distance to local supermarket. The kitchen is well equiped, the apartment is very clean. The only negatives I would have to mention are the very low waterpressure in the showers (both indoor and outdoor shower) and not having a comfortable seating arrangement in the living room. A nice lounging sofa would have been better than the wooden bench in the living room. The owner of the property lives close by and is readily available for any questions you may have. Overall, we enjoyed our week long stay at the Barbados suite very much and would definetely return for another vacation.

Fantastic

My husband and me spent 3 fantastic weeks in the wonderful, tastefully designed Plantation House. Each room was superbly and individually decorated by the owners Joe and Francoise who were both always attainable and answered our every question. The 2 bedroom apartment we rented was a dream, and my husband and me upon our departure agreed we could have very easily stayed another 3 weeks. The lovely Plantation House is ideally situated in Playa del Carmen's heartbeat of activity and night life, 5th avenue. It is also just a block away from the beautiful blue beach. Even though very close to the action, it was incredibly quiet and private. A very relaxing getaway. Our apartment was just what we wanted, and much more. We had a lovely deck where we would watch the sunset with a glass of wine. There is housekeeping, and also a cool plunge pool which we would soak in after a long day at the beach.! Highly highly recommended, and I can't wait to go back again."

We came to Playa in 1997 with great aspirations of creating a truly unique hotel or condo complex. With much luck we found this perfect little tropical lot in the heart of town and began designing what is now the Plantation house. I, a Canadian with Architectural background , and Françoise From France a film maker. Worked together to form a perfect setting for vacationers looking for an authentic experience. We love to see the expressions our guests have when they first walk into our magic place.

What makes this property unique

The convenience of our location allows you to easily walk over to find your favorite beach club. Then if you feel like socializing, 5th Ave and it's many cafes is just around the corner. The space in the living area is beautiful, high vaulted wood ceilings, with louvered windows... all make one feel comfortably indoors yet not closed in. The terrace is a great space too, the sea views are great and we enjoy very much the outdoor shower.
