The property is off the beaten path but still close enough to anything you would need (grocery, restaurants, highway, etc) to not be inconvenienced. The “old timey” charm of this house was complimented well by the smart and tasteful inclusion of all the modern amenities. Communication with the host was fantastic. Everything was absolutely perfect.
Our family (2 adults, 4 kids) had an absolute fantastic time staying at Ashintully Cottage! The cottage was every other it was described as being and honestly, even better in person. The owner was very helpful with things to do in the area and texted us with weather updates as a courtesy. We loved being on the historic property of Ashintully and hiking the ruins. We also went for a hike at the Cobble, which ties in with the Appalachian trail. This was such a relaxing and one of a kind experience, and we look forward to coming back again!
This is a lovely, peaceful place to stay and relax during a fall visit to the Berkshires. The autumn colors were on display! Tyringham is less hectic than other towns but offers easy access to them as well as to outdoor attractions like Beartown State Forest.
Property was as advertised. Really clean and exceeded our expectations. Nice quiet location with plenty to do in the surrounding area and district. Highly recommend this property.
This property is delightful! A little further from our planned activities than we anticipated but so beautiful and quiet it was like a respite at the end of busy days. Awakening to mist over the fields in the morning and drifting off to sleep to an owl hooting was wonderful. Very clean and relaxing. Will definitely keep this place on my list of places to stay in the future!
The cottage is full of character and comfort. The location is beautiful and peaceful. Wish I could have stayed longer! Looking forward to visiting again. The owner went above and beyond to help make the stay an enjoyable one. Communication and helpful tips were much appreciated. Highly recommend this property! Thanks again for a wonderful trip.
We had a fabulous stay at this Tyringham cottage! The setting was bucolic--far enough out to feel away from it all (without feeling isolated) but convenient to Tanglewood and Stockbridge and an easy drive Clark Art and Mass Moca. VERY clean, room for all, a fantastic screened porch for mealtimes overlooking a beautiful field and excellent communication with our host. We'll be back!!
This house is a great place to discover new things in the Berkshires. It's a very quiet location, with incredible views all around. It's directly across the street from Ashintully Gardens, and Jennifer provided suggestions for lots of great nearby hikes. The screened in porch is a perfect location to drink your coffee (or tea) and simply watch the morning fog disappear. Highly recommended.
We can't say enough about our too short week in the Berkshires. The house was lovely. Picture perfect. Spotless. Well appointed. The grounds were simply beautiful. We can't say enough about the property as well as the thoughtfulness of our host.
Thank you. Thank you.
Firstly, Jennifer takes amazing care of this home. It’s very clean and she has thought of everything you could need. The location is what sold us and let me just say we weren’t disappointed. This little town is so quiet and beautiful. If you are looking to have a peaceful week with nature and family this is the place for you! The Ashintully Gardens even in the winter are gorgeous. Wish I could share pictures. I actually teared up leaving the house. I wanted to stay longer.
oh my. where to begin. this little house is charming. it is comfortable. It is restful. It is so near to so many of the summer season cultural venues. It is across the road from a lovely Trustees property -- perfect for an easy walk. Beautiful views everywhere. The gem is the large screened in porch on the rear of the house. Grab an AM coffee or tea and listen to and watch the birds.
The owner is very responsive and her choices of bed linens, towels, dishes & glassware etc are so lovely.

Girls weekend
Loved the location of this very cute cottage in this scenic town. Plenty of space for us for the weekend. Ashintully Gardens was directly across the street and we took a walk through the property--what a view when you get up to where the ruins are. Easy ride over to Stockbridge and great starting point to exploring the Berkshires. Passed the Big Y grocery store on the way to the cottage--Right off the Mass Pike. Loved having the closed in patio. Had breakfast out there every morning. Beds were comfortable, showers were adequate, smartly decorated, kitchen nicely stocked but not a lot of counter space for food prep but not really a big deal. Cell phone reception was spotty but not a big deal for us. TV is tiny but we only watched a couple of DVD's one evening. The only con would be the ultrasonic mouse repeller--they made clicking noises every few minutes. Thought it was the heat turning on but realized that wasn't it--tried not to pay attention to it. Never saw any critters either. Norman Rockwell museum is a must visit. Poked around Stockbridge and the shops. Went hiking at McLennan Reservation which is about a mile or two down the street from the cottage. Went apple picking at Windy Hill Farm in Great Barrington--lots and lots of apples. Visited Les Trois Emme Vineyard & Winery in New Marlborough. Overall loved the location and would love to stay here again and would recommend the cottage to as a good place to for exploring the Berkshires.

Thanks for this - I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and I hope you will return! Wanted to mention that the plug-in ultrasonic mouse repellants can be unplugged if they are bothersome. I've found some people can't stand them while others don't notice or hear them. I'm not sure if they really are responsible for keeping mice away, but I try to stack the deck in our favor. Unplugging them for a few days should not make any difference for mouse control.
Also wanted to mention we are adding a full bath upstairs for next season. Stay tuned and come back!
The cottage at Ashintully was clean and comfortable for the 5 of us. The location is absolutely beautiful and was convenient to restaurants and things to do, while being out in the country and peaceful. Jennifer, the owner, was very responsive to our questions and checked in with us several times to make sure we had everything we need for a great stay. Her recommendations for local hikes and things to do were spot on and ended up being our favorite activities of the trip.

Thanks Dan, so glad you enjoyed the place and the hikes!
We had a great stay in a beautiful setting. The house was large enough for our immediate family. My grandkids had plenty of space to expend their bountiful energy and the adults had ample room to relax. Plenty of places to hike, swim, or go into town for fine dining and arts related events. The proprietor was helpful whenever we contacted her and the house was clean and well attended. We would definitely book here again. Thanks
The Cottage: What a special place! Plenty of room for our 4 adults and 1 child. Every detail from the dishes and water glasses to the books and bed linens have been placed with a charming country esthetic in mind. We enjoyed cool days and nights so didn’t need the AC but was good to know it was there. Many games were available and we loved playing cards every evening on the back screened porch.
Location: It was a unique privilege to have access to the Ashintully Gardens and ruins. We hiked to the top several times each day and daydreamed about what it must have been like when the mansion was there. My husband and son hiked the Tyringham cobble and enjoyed it. We drove 25 to Tanglewood one evening for a Yo Yo Ma concert.
Next time we are in the Berkshires we will be definitely be back!

Charming cottage in a quiet, wooded setting.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ashintully cottage. The cottage was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and cozy.
The 2 updated bathrooms are a nice touch as well. The kitchen, while quite minimal served our purpose however, if you plan took major meals and require specific equipment that could be frustrating. We were a bit worried that it might not be warm enough but the heat worked great and it was very cozy. The location was good for us as we wanted to be close to Butternut Ski Resort which was about 20 minutes away. We ate several times in the town of Lee and had very good food each time. I highly recommend staying at Jennifer's cottage and would not hesitate to stay there again.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the cottage. You were my first winter renters - usually the cottage is closed for winter, but I may keep it open in future. The kitchen is undergoing a few improvements before next summer, but will ultimately still remain a simple and basic one. There is an outdoor grill available for the warm season.

Darling house in a beautiful country setting.
My husband, daughters and I recently spent a week at Jennifer's house in Tyringham. The house is just darling! It has everything you need for a pleasant stay-pots, pans, dishes, a washer and dryer. I even used the blender to make smoothies. There is a screened in porch which was delightful. It's surrounded by a pretty meadow and beautiful mountains. It's like youre sitting in the middle of a postcard. The house is in a gorgeous area and you'll be spoiled for choice with all the great hikes near by. We would definitely stay here again.

Beatiful cottage in magical setting
This is a lovely house in a magical setting. The larger Ashintully property--including the ruins of the mansion at the top of the hill and the gardens right across the lane--is breathtaking, and having such proximity and access to it is a rare privilege. We had one especially memorable early morning hike up to the columns.
The cottage is simply beautiful, with modern crank-out windows that let you fill the house with breezes, and with gorgeous painted floors throughout. All decisions, large and small, have obviously been made with an eye for both esthetics and practicality, and the result makes for an appealing, comfortable and deeply satisfying place to relax and retreat. One of the nicest features is the new porch, which lets you sit and/or dine with a full view of the surrounding fields and hills. (The main road is close by, but it only bothered us on one occasion.)
Jennifer is an impeccable person to rent from: prompt and thoughtful, with lots of attention to detail. She makes sure you are happy. We have rented quite a few houses, and Jennifer is among the best to deal with.

Wonderful and peaceful Ashintully Cottage
This was our second stay at Ashintully and we loved it even more this time around. It's incredibly peaceful, while also enjoying close proximity to many other towns (Lenox, Lee, GB, Stockbridge, Monterey & Otis). There are three swimming options within 5 - 20 minutes away (Lake Garfield, Benedict Pond and the Tyringham swimming hole), and loads of walking/hiking choices. We walked on the Cobble at least once each day. The house itself is spacious, clean, and has everything you need, including a fabulous screened in porch where we spent most evenings. As others have noted, there is limited wifi and cell services, but what's available was fine for our needs (it's vacation, people: put the devices away). The owner Jennifer is very responsive and accommodating. I've rented a number of houses in the Berkshires, and Ashintully is by far my favorite.
