About this property
Lakefront Vacation House with Fireplace and Hot Tub.
Enjoy a comfortable stay in this four season, lake front vacation home. This home has all the amenities of home on the inside, while being located on a beautiful scenic wooded lot with a deck overlooking 150 feet of shoreline on Lake Arrowhead. There is a 8 person Hot Tub located on the outside deck overlooking the lake which is a perfect retreat for spring, summer, fall or winter!
Spring / Summer- Morel mushroom hunting, nature walks, biking, swimming, boating, fishing, hiking and golf. Gaylord is known as the 'Golf Mecca of the Midwest.' The area features over 20 world class courses. Most are less than 30 minutes away.
Fall / Winter- Beautiful fall colors, downhill and cross country skiing and snowmobiling. Gaylord is centrally located inside Michigan's 'Snowbelt', receiving abundant snowfall each winter. Gaylord's trail system connects thousands of miles of marked and groomed trails.
Family Activities-: Keeping the kids happy can make or break a vacation, but when visiting Otsego County, boredom is never a consideration. When the weather won't cooperate or the little ones have just plain run out of things to do, that's when it's time to venture out and discover the many attractions that can put smiles back on their faces. The Otsego County Sportsplex, where kids and grownups can swim in an Olympic-size pool or rent a pair of skates and take to the ice for 'wintertime' fun, even as the sidewalks are sizzling outside. Adjacent to the Sportsplex is the Energy Outlet, a quaint park filled with slides, swings and climbing equipment, all designed to delight and distract the kids from any thoughts of boredom. Throughout the park are structures embedded with information and etchings of the dinosaur age, and surrounding all the fun stuff is a paved walking track.
and more family activities...: At Call of the Wild, fun and learning go hand in hand, and it's almost a sure thing that kids want to go back again and again. After touring the outdoors, visitors can step outside the museum to ride on a go-kart or play a round of miniature golf. Checking out the wildlife museum is great fun, but to catch a glimpse of the real thing, a stop at the elk-viewing area at the end of Grandview Boulevard (just east across South Otsego Ave. from Wisconsin St) will afford you a close-up view of North Michigan wildlife. If you still have energy after all that, give some through to seeing a movie at Gaylord Cinema on M-32 West, which shows several different features daily.

A perfect get away! Ample space for everyone and my family throughy enjoyed this vacation spot! Easy to get to and with everything you pretty much need! Just arrive with your food and enjoy your stay!
We enjoyed our stay and it was a relaxing getaway. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. Check-in went very smoothly as well as communication with the homeowner.
My family loved the place, had a few challenges with weather being 92 degrees so we were hot in the house. Then the Canadian smoke moved in when weather became bearable. Lake was great, water was high maintenance person went above and beyond using his truck to help pull out our boat as dock was very high. Suggestions for owner are small. Find DVD player remote, enhance wifi as we struggled a little. Possibly get blender to make mixed drinks. Beds were awesome rooms were great. House overall was awesome! Hot tub was a bonus. Wish there was room for the picnic table on the deck maybe a project down the line. Mitch the owner was very helpful with all details and questions ahead of time. Mitch was so nice to even let us bring our dogs. Thanks for a great stay.
Our family enjoyed our week (7/4-11) at Mitch’s cottage. The cottage is comfortable and somewhat secluded. We did enjoy it as much as we could. Arriving on the 4th of July, we thought that there would be some celebrations, but also thought that with the association it would quiet down. There was a party going on across the lake that went on past 2:30 am. (loud music, yelling, etc.) After that we had some solitude, then had days of noise…..renovation of the house next door (building boulder wall), cutting down multiple trees (chainsaws and wood chipper going for a few hours). Had to close windows and doors to cut down on the noise, so our family couldn’t enjoy the breeze coming through the windows. We were not expecting a noisy experience like that for our vacation.
Nice cabin in a quiet location. Enjoyed the lake. Beds are not comfortable, but they had everything that you need for an extended stay.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the stay! Thanks for your feedback on the beds, I'm sorry they didn't match up with your personal preference. We typically receive positive feedback on how comfortable the beds and furniture are.
Enjoyed our short stay very much! Hot tub was amazing! Thinking of making this my birthday getaway tradition! Tree tops & the Elk Park were only about a 20 minute drive away.
We had a very good stay. The property is beautiful. We really enjoyed our time. The only downside was that you have to pay a cleaning fee, but they want you to wash and dry and put away all linens that were used before departure and take your own trash out. The trash receptacle was a little far away, but overall very enjoyable. Something for everyone there.

Very glad to hear you enjoyed the stay! I apologize for the confusion on the laundry. There is a cleaning service that comes through the house between guests to clean/sanitize the house, wash sheets, make beds, clean bathrooms, dust, floors, etc. – all of the house keeping type stuff. We only ask, if you have a minute and don't mind, to throw in a load of towels as extra towels are often used for hot tubbing.
Overall, a very nice place to stay. Many amenities, including the kayaks and rowboat. The use of the hottub and the public pool was nice. Be ready to go up and down steps, which was pointed out by Mitch prior to our arrival, so was not surprised. Very quiet and peaceful place to stay.
Perfect place for two families of 4. Close enough proximity to Traverse City and other locations. Very much enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace! Mitch was very responsive with answers to any questions. Only wish was for more snow while we were there!
